Devanti Coffee Machine Espresso $189.95 Delivered @ Timeless Living via Bunnings Marketplace

140

I bought one of these 2 weeks ago.

really enjoying it . here is a review I wrote last week.

I bought mine for ~$175 delivered which in inclusive of topcashback's 25% cashback for woolworths market . so I am still waiting (16 weeks wait time) for that cash back. will it get paid out ? IDK.

any way.

for the money it seems , so far, like a very very decent machine.

with this deal - $189.95 gets you a machine delivered to your door..

I've used my brother's breville Brista express coffee machine, and I think this Devanti is probably on par.

I'd rate this machine 8 thumbs up

    • damn!! even better!!
      updated deal.

      thank you

      • have you test the steam wand, cheap machines normally come with very weak steaming power.

        • not yet, I'll give it a go tomorrow.

          i mostly drink espresso

        • Yes sometimes they do but some like the sunbeam origins pump steam out constantly. Way easier to steam milk than my gaggia which is more poweful but drops off after 1 minute.

        • I just tried the steam wand. there is a temperature displayo n the machine. it said temp was 132 degrees. the steam was hot (no shit sherlock) - i only heated a glass of water briefly but it seemed more than satisfactory.

  • So what is the max height cup in these?

Fit a large takeaway or those handle thermal cups? Or does the image say it all?

    Can they do Mochas?

    • max height cup

if you just slide in a cup (rather than tilting it in) then the max cup height is 85mm.

i just use a ramekin to catch my coffee (I take several shots) and then tip that into my large mug - which I've heated the milk up in already .

  • Thanks OP, bought one.

  • At this price, with a grinder, if it makes a half decent coffee, then you can't go wrong

  • Buy just for the pump?

    • also the grinder…

  • How's the temperature of the coffee? I read 2 comments on a YouTube review saying that it's not hot enough? I'm keen to get one to move away from pod coffees.

    • ok, so I did a test this morning.

turned on the machine (from a cold-off state) and observed the temp counter rise to "95" and immediately ran a shot through it.

the temperature was warm /hot (can't find my thermometer).

3 minutes later I ran a second shot and that was like lava.

I'll do another coffee in a couple of hours (I've now turned off the machine so it will "cool down") and will start the machine from a "cold-off" and run just a coffeeless shot to "flush out" any cold water in the pipes. and then run a second shot with coffee.

and then later in the afternoon I'll try a shot after starting the machine from a "cold start", but giving it a few minutes for it to heat up -which I don't think is the issue - but more of a "flushing cold water in the lines from the heater to pump which doesn't heat" situation.

      science.

TL:DR - may need an initial water-only flush/shot and then run a shot with coffee to get a really hot coffee

      • How did you go with the follow up test?

        • Also interested to find out your results.

        • yesterday I ran an initial shot with out any grounds in the porterfilter - output was warmish at first but lava by the end - but the collected output in the cup was OK-warm
I then intermediately did a second run with coffee in the porterfilter and the output was lava

today I ran the initial shot with coffee in the portofiller and it was the same as yesterday - initially warmish and lava by the end. second shot was lava.

So, I'll try again later (once the machine has cooled) and let the machine sit and warm up for a few a minutes and then try a shot to see if the initial water output is not hot/just warm.

but I am thinking that an initial water only flush/shot, and then do a coffee shot , is the way to go.

as the machine is a grinder and espresso maker - then you could do a water only shot whilst grinding/filling the porterfilter (i just tested this and you can do both simulateneously. - and I immediately ran a second shot and the water was lava.

          • @altomic: Awesome! Thank you for this.

  • Are you able to share a copy of the user manual at all? Can't find one online.

Also, 20 bar machines are overkill for espressos, 9 bar is ideal. Can you confirm you've been able to hit 9 bar consistently now you've had it for a little while?

  • Do you know if it uses standard porterfilter sizing to allow for an easy upgrade?

    • 51mm porterfilter
      with 3 "prongs"

exactly the same as a delonghi porterfilter - I just tried my delongi porterfilter in it. same same

I just tried the steam wand. there is a temperature display. it said temp was 132 degrees. the steam was hot - i only heated a glass of water briefly but it seemed more than satisfactory.

    • Both my Sunbeam and De'Longhi portafilters look the same but do not fit the new Devanti. The 3 prongs on the side are about half the thickness on the new one. Apart from that, I'm very impressed.
