R.M. Williams Craftsman Boots $423.20 Delivered / C&C @ David Jones

1080

Just wanted to share that RM Williams is back on sale at David Jones. Take advantage of their -20% off certain items.

R.M. Williams Comfort Craftsman RRP $699, reduced to $529 for their regular sale. Then an ADDITIONAL 20% reduction in cart, totalling only $423.20. No coupon required. Auto discounted for certain styles.

Update: Sorry, the title was not meant to be misleading. I should’ve put a disclaimer that at the time of posting there were a few Craftsman and Comfort Craftsman styles and sizes available. Unfortunately as the discounted comfort craftsman sold out, David Jones removed the link and now currently links to the only style left with the deal. I’ll try and write up a better post next time but was rushing to get it out because who doesn’t want RMs on sale? Thanks again and sorry about that.

  • Limited sizes available. You need to have big feet, size 12 plus.

    • you know what they say….

      big feet, big socks

      • Also to add: > ‘happier woman’ > ‘happier home’

    • can I just buy size 13 and go to a cobbler and he makes them 11s?

      • You’ll spend a lot more at a cobbler to make a frankenshoe than you would just paying the extra $100 for a full-price pair in your size…

A lot of people on this website have an addiction to buying cheap crap they don’t need, rather than seeking genuine good value and deals.

        • Oh thank you, good sire!
I will better myself and look for the good value from now on

        • Exactly, when you add up all the crap you don't need from impulse buys you could get something quality. Depends what you need and tastes change too but good not to buy anything and everything.

          Buy right buy once.

  • Got a similar pair from Big W for $25

    • Ah yes, the RM Big Williams

    • +1 because this is a good meme

    • After a few wears of either, your feet won't be Allgood

  • Always this price?

    • $699 is the price at all RM Williams stores for these shoes (Craftsman) as mentioned by OP.

  • Most sizes now sold out.
    None instore in WA

  • None in the right sizes. Unlucky boys we'll get em' next time

  • There’s a few giants who are going to be delighted.

    • yeah if i wear size 12 i would be set for life LUL

    • Wear size 15. Am also disappointed because no other retailers stock them so never get sales like this. Never had rm's, maybe kinda wanna try, not paying full price tho.

      • I wear a size 15 US and fit a 13H in RMs perfectly. Get a fitting at the RM store- they tried to convince me 12.5 was ok but ended up trying to wear them in for no luck and sold them to buy the 13H. I am tight but these are one of those things that are actually worth the money. My accountant convinced me after his two pairs were all he has needed for 15 years; just a resole or two with daily use.

  • Are these 100% member @Cludos approved?.

    • you couldn't afford these, i got 2.

      • Sensible given you likely have 2 feet.

  • whos turn is it to link the youtube

  • These look better on smaller sized feet and slender folks.

Defo look forced and strange on bigger feet/ bigger fellas.

    • Agreed, but this applies to all items of clothing really.

  • You don't see heels like that much nowadays.

    • You can still find em.

    • Very feminine

  • Ahhh the old RM williams deal…….where shoe sizes are extremely limited and stock sells out before it gets to 30 upvotes. Same every time.

    • Apparently people who live on KFC meal deals also love impulse buying $400+ shoes.

  • 12F and 13 still available ?
    Edit - Craftsman

  • Just bought a 12f thanks, never owned a pair of RM williams before

    • Enjoy!
I impulse bought some suede black ones I don’t need, I should probably unsubscribe from these deals.

If you’re a first time owner I’d suggest getting some leather conditioner and applying semi regularly when they’re new to stop them cracking in the bendy bit. Also if you got Craftsman’s with a leather sole these are deadly in the wet so go to a local cobbler and pay $20 for them to glue a bit of rubber to the sole, they’re still slippery but it helps. Final bit of unsolicited advice is try and give them a day to breath between wears as they can retain sweat/moisture which isn’t good in the long term.

  • Any leather conditioner recommends?

  • I have a pair of these from 2005, absolutely love them, still in excellent condition and very comfortable, not a bad price

    • Keep those, the problem is the quality on new ones has significantly deteriorated in recent years - enshittification.

      • Don't trust all the reviews ,some of those videos where they are cutting in half and comparing were comparing leather to comfort for a start.

I got an outlet pair from around 2010. The leather very hard and tough, leather sole takes the longest time to become wearable where as comfort version great out of the box. I did go for the wider version helps a bit. Still nowhere near as comfortable as any Nike runners or casual shoes m

        • It’s hard to let go and see our favourite brands turn to shit - look at Bonds. 20 years ago they were the epitome of quality.

          • @colin5000: Can still buy Dunlop volleys. They look the same but $40 instead of about $5

KT 26 Pret hard to come by but the hipsters still rate them.

Bonds socks from Amazon still seem fine but yeah.

            • @G-Shock: Dunlop Volleys - God’s shoe!

              • @colin5000: Haha Pretty good. I've never had a pair but bought some for father's day. Some places other than big W have the nerve to try and sell for $80-100 lol.

The price gouging on our favorite brand is the worst part of it, I remember RM increasing the cost about 3 times within 18 months at one stage. Not really than much of a go-to for $799. Plenty of other better UK brands around, but what hasn't experienced inflation.

      • You're spot on with that, enshitification is becoming a huge problem globally.
People need to talk about it and fight back against it

  • anyone know the difference between the G fit and Comfort fit? any differences or preferences

    • G is the width. G is the standard narrow fit.
The H is a wider fit (like a 2E in sneakers)
The Comfort relates to the sole.

  • I stocked up on Gina boots, no need for twiggy boots

  • Was looking at these yesterday at Harbourtown, couldn't get past the price. Ended up with a pair of Ringers Western Kunanurras. Very happy but only time will tell I guess.

    • Yeah I passed on Ringers stuff with the whole cult thing.

  • link is for Craftsman not Comfort Craftsman

    • Agreed, the title is misleading / incorrect.

Definitely DO NOT get the leather sole version, world of pain and slippy outside.

    • Sorry about that. Was trying to make the post as soon as I saw the deal. I know how quickly these sold out. I should’ve made a disclaimer, at the time of the post there were Comfort Craftsman on sale. It looks like only Craftsman are left so the original link no longer works and goes straight to the last style available from David Jones

      • All good, you have to get the post out first!
Just saying no one should buy the leather sole ones.

  • What are decent Goodyear welt construction boots available here in Oz which are below $300 mark ?

  • They must make insane margin on these.

    • Same with Louis V, Chanel and other brands. But they are quality. Wearing mine daily for 3 years and had them resoled recently. Basically feel like new again.

    • lol, well they were once owned by the LVMH group, which we can all agree are known for selling their products at razor thin margins

  • What am I missing about RMs? I don't understand the appeal to spend so much on boots…

I wear boots to work every day, but only spent about $80 on my last pair. They lasted 2 years and weren't even leather. (To be fair, I pushed them to 2 years, they looked awful by the end and had holes in the soles etc…) I just bough a discounted pair of leather boots for $75 (down from $220) that I found on OzBargain and am hopeful they'll last at least another 2-3 years.

With that maths in mind, it's only $40 per year on boots. To get a pair of RM's for $400 (if you're lucky) would mean they'd have to last at least 10 years to be worth it. Plus a re-sole or two in that period of time.

    • It's the uniform for engineers and lawyers, you need to fit in. Besides the price, I quite like the style as they can dress up or down, and become relatively comfy I guess.

A lot of people would be fine with Blundstones for a fraction of the price but try on both and decide for yourself.

      • That's fair, never looked at it that way. I agree with the styling too, I think they look good.

        • Its still ridiculous, they used to be had pretty easily for under $500, RRP gone up by at least 300.

          • @G-Shock: Everything has gone up.

FWIW, I bought a pair of Rossi 5021 Tennant Boots (which I'm still wearing) back in April 2019 for $202.54.

I bought a pair of Rossi 503 Colt Boots in July 2026 (effectively the same boot as the Rossi 5021 Tennant previously purchased) and they have now gone up to $359.

            • @shutuptakemymoney101: Yeah inflation, that's not bad though.
RMs have seen much more but they can get away with it.
