Hey OzBargain! ๐
We've heard you loud and clear - as promised our new Japan sale is now on! ๐ฅ
A special thank you to those of you who vote on and support our deals, and those who share their first-hand experiences with the community. We sincerely appreciate it! ๐
So, what's the deal?
This time around we've got the full KDDI range (including a brand new plan!) on offer.
The discount increases with quantity, so if you're travelling with mates, your partner, your family, or anyone else, be sure to take full advantage of the offer!
The tiers:
- ๐ฅ 1 eSIM - 40% off
- ๐ฅ๐ฅ 2-3 eSIMs - 45% off each
- ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ 4+ eSIMs - 50% off each
๐ We're also bringing back the Lawson promotion in collaboration with KDDI! All new KDDI eSIMs purchased until October 31st 2026 will come with a voucher (claim via portal while stocks last!) to redeem one of ~5 products at Lawson outlets across Japan. Full terms are on the site and in the voucher once claimed.
๐ฏ๐ต Japan KDDI/au local eSIM range
These are local eSIMs direct from KDDI/au, not roaming eSIMs - so you get a Japanese IP, low latency, and no Hong Kong routing (your usual apps keep working).

Important Japan notes
- Validity is counted in calendar days and ends at 11:59pm Japan time on the final day.
- eSIMs must be activated and fully used within 180 days of issue.
- Unlimited plan (both Premium and 10Mbps) phone data is unlimited; hotspot has a separate allowance.
- Fixed plans share one allowance between phone data and hotspot.
- Local products can't be topped up or extended, so pick a validity that covers your whole trip.
- Data-only: no Japanese phone number, calls or SMS. We recommend setting up the 'Line' app for chat/calls with locals/businesses in Japan.
Heading to Southeast Asia too? Our Asia 300GB / 30-Day deal is still running for up to 50% off.
General notes
- Prices are approximate AUD and may move slightly with FX. The cart total is the amount charged.
- The quantity tier is based on the number of eligible Japan KDDI/au eSIMs in one order.
- Cannot be combined with another discount code.
- Device must be carrier-unlocked and eSIM-compatible (tip: dial
*#06#and look for an EID). - Speeds depend on local coverage, congestion and device.
