  • wow insanely cheap.
its small, i.wonder that the dimensions are

    • That's what she said.

    • looks to me (guess based on the size of the temperature gauge etc) to be about 30cm diameter, maybe less

      • Definitely won’t fit a whole chicken or a leg of pork

        • but will fit a few steaks when camping.

          • @M00Cow: Surely there's a better option for cooking a couple of steaks camping than lugging one of these around.

    • 5.1" length, 4.5" girth

      • She said its a good size

        • don't assume their pronouns

  • What is this? A kamado for ants?

  • Their take on the Big Green Egg? Looks pretty decent for the price!

    • except it's a small black turnip

      • dont tell baldrick

    • It's very small for a ceramic

Perfect for grilling maybe 2 steaks at a time

Temperature management will be a pain if you're thinking of roasting in something this size

      • Waste of effort and fuel for 1-2kg of meat.

Get a used 58cm Webber kettle for less $$, or a Bunnings knock off.

Can do 2-3 small cuts at once, or a large turkey/brisket etc…much more versatile and temp far more stable

      • Is this suitable for charcoal

  • It's tiny

  • Good for single family! Don’t forget to get Bunnings chimney for 5 bucks. But for the limited space, I wonder if the charcoal can output high enough power when lip is closed.

  • Currently roasting pork knuckle in my Char-Griller kamado acorn. If this one is anything like mine, it's an awesome way to bbq!

  • Looks kinda dumb.

  • Good for one person who doesn’t eat much (a kid)

    • I don't think the kid will fit in this, even if they don't eat much.

    • good gateway to get your kids into bbq

  • If you're cooking for yourself and maybe one other person who doesn't eat much meat this will be ok. I think you'd struggle with certain cuts like brisket which don't tend to come up that well when they're smaller.

A mini ceramic kamado always seemed like an odd product. Too small to do a meal for a group at home. Too heavy and fragile to be portable.

    • For people that like the idea but know that they won't stick to it?

Like a 3 month gym membership

      • Much like a 3 month gym membership, you might not get the positive results from this. Smaller = harder to manage temperature and not as useful.

You'd be better off with an Akorn Jr. from Bunno's. Slightly larger, but not as big as the big boy kommados..

  • tf is this, looks like it can cook 4 chicken wings at a time

  • Review on FB will some photos for size comparison.

    • Oh lord why’d you link that fb group 🤤🤤🤤

  • i see this often around my area, its always not bought, and doesn't need to be in sale period

  • If you're into low and slow cooking a single hard boiled egg or something.

  • Can I cook a brisket on this?

  • I bought one of these last year. It is quite small - think 4 hamburgers at a time. I can get about 6 or 7 chicken drumsticks in there is I do some creative arranging.

I did smoke a leg of lamb in this, and was able to get the top closed by repeatedly slamming it on the lamb until it stayed shut.

I like it. The temperature arcs up and then slowly drops over 2-3 hours, so it works well for a slow roast. As a bonus the small size makes it incredibly efficient. A kg or so of lump charcoal is enough to keep it hot for hours.

  • Got this on the last deal, it's smaller than 12" maybe like 9" but I got to say it worked a treat quick, especially for first start up on lump charcoal, for two it was incredible for four people it still worked but more than that you can't entertain, great for entry level smoking, and charcoal BBQs, would highly recommend, follow instructions on how to use first time l. Draw backs you need to be carefully buying larger pieces of meats such as chickens or roasts they sometimes won't fit. I kept mine for just over a year until I upgraded to the last aldi deal which was larger. Any questions let me know!

  • Desk ornament

  • These are great for grilling but this one is tiny. You will struggle doing more then 2 stakes at once, or more then 6 skewers. The Bunnings equivalent is a bit bigger and capable of at least cooking for four people. https://www.bunnings.com.au/char-griller-akorn-jr-kamado-por…

The problem with these small units is that its very hard to keep the temp low enough for slow cooking. If you dont add enough charcoal then it will snuff itself out, but if you add more than the temp goes to high (meat will cook too fast and dry out).

  • It show out of stock in qld now for Bunnings
