I do the onion too but then use these wipes to give a good clean to the grills once the gunk is off/across the rest of the BBQ. Good for disinfecting and wiping away the oils and crap.
These were near useless 20 years ago when I first tried them. I doubt they have changed.
I just leave the Weber running on max after cooking. By time I've eaten and turn it off everything inside the bbq has been cremated and can be blown away.
Burning off everything works on the grates but there's still oil and gunk on the bbq hood/lid etc. I actually find these pretty good at cutting through grease. I sometimes use it to clean any dust off the grates if the bbq has been sitting for a while. Give them a try only $6 bucks
Does it leave any chemical taste on the grates?
not that I've found. I leave it on few a minute to burn off anything.
I actually find these decent to use at the end of a clean up to quickly scrub off leftover stubborn stuff
