  • No creepy camera?

    • No camera, no buy for me puts on my trenchcoat

    • Creepy camera? You mean the ones that look extremely bulky and has a built in led that shows everyone around you that you are recording? Some people who use them are normal and only record stuff for themselves so sure we should shame the majority who use it to creep on others or use strangers for content but why can't I record myself going on a hike or walking my dog? (I don't have meta glasses btw so I have zero bias except for the fact that I am for innovation in tech).

      • You mean the ones that aren't that bulky, are getting less bulky and have LED notification lights that are trivial to disable?

        • yeah. barely visible.

          • @seamonkey: They're calling you a bot in the comments

            • @visitorsonlyparking: It's a compliment. Whatever corner of the internet I venture, I hear that. Sure sign they are too thick to answer the point, too unoriginal to invent an insult, and stuck repeating the same programmed response. But apparently I’m the bot. 😂

          • @seamonkey: Selective much? Dark lens, white frame. Now show the same in all such glasses, particularly the black framed ones.

            • @banana365: Now who's being selective? Dark lens, light coloured frame is also an extremely common available option.

By the way, I don't have a pair and won't ever, but I support the right of others to have what they like.

Look at the releases in just the last few weeks, tiny flip phones with high power cameras designed so that it's normal for people to hold them up to their face/ear..People just just on these ridiculous outrage bandwagons.

              • @seamonkey: I don't care what your intentions are with these glasses but you'd be foolish to claim that there are not more unobtrusive designs available that can be (and have been) used by people with less than desirable intentions. You can post as many pictures of glasses with flashing lights and an alarm shouting "I'm filming", it won't change the availability of the subtle ones.

                • @banana365: The subtle ones exist, not claiming they don't. The skilled tradesmen at his work bench making the piece of his life, the Ferrari owner going for a Sunday coastal drive hugging the mountains, the person who wants to upload sewing DIY content to YouTube. These people should be able to freely purchase such glasses without being accused of being creeps that want to dabble in the CP blackmarket.

                  • @seamonkey: And yet you choose to make that point by incorrectly saying "look, they're not subtle!". Choose a better argument to start with as your point makes sense but your start was bad.

  • I’ve had the square variants for about a year and they rule! Music while being able to hear your surroundings rocks.

  • Or just buy some bone conduction headset for even cheaper and buy the frame glasses you really want.

  • How's the polarized with these or any similar budget with polarized

  • Which colour suits men best — Onyx, Pearl or Amber?

  • Any prescription available?

  • Trying to resist…

Edit - I didn't last long (per normal..), bought

  • I'm not sure about the transparent frames.

  • What is this and what is the use(ful) case for this kind of tech? Just wonderin'. 🤔

    • Commuting to city, you take sunglasses and headphones. Now just take one.

      • Won't the music sound real tinnie like and people around will hear the music playing too, right?

        • Unsurprisingly Yes

          And surprisingly no

This is for receiving answers to tests at uni

  • Back when Oakley was cool they had these around 2004. Called the Oakley Thump. Now Oakley are boring, killed by big corp.

    • Back in the day Oakleys provided thermonuclear protection. Killed by big corp.

  • Can I ask, can you still hear a podcast if say you are on a bicycle at 30kmh or would the sound drown it?

    • I wore them running today but that's much slower. My guess is they'd have enough volume for it though.

  • Still not sure I need these but the audio quality is so much better than expected. Also love you don't need a bloody app to use them!
