20% of base price.

Don't believe any Aussie retailers stock the Blu-Ray boxset anywhere. Rarewaves (UK Retailer) has it available for $262.5 AUD so not much in the way of competitive pricing options outside of Amazon.

Incredible show, definitely check it out if you haven't already.

  • Apparently one of the best remasters out there, nearly spent so much money on it they didn't turn a profit on this release.

    Worth it for fans.

    • The cost to remaster was less than an episode of ST New Worlds which I haven't watched because it's garbage.

      • You obviously haven't seen the brilliant genre redefining episode where everyone turns into puppets.

      • Fair if you hated Disco and Academy, even Picard.
Give SNW a try. There are some real gems. Besides Lower Decks, it really is the best Trek since the early 00s

        SNW:S04E01 is S tier Trek

        • There are some excellent episodes. Unfortunately the ratio of goofy episodes is higher than it should be. We used to get 1 maybe 2 per 24 episode season now it's 4-5 per 10 episode season.

          • @Elyxar: Yep. The seasons are too short, and gimmicks stand out.

I must admit, at the start of the puppet episode it was not my thing, but by the third act I had submitted and I was all in on the idea, trying to come up with head canon about how it might work - right up until the reveal at the end. That killed it but explained it all, not sure I liked it.

    • Shame they're not doing the others as I'd love a remastered DS9

      • So say we all!

        • What do you hear?
          Nothing but the rain

        • Is that your cue for a remastered BSG?

          • @ak47wong: The BSG Blu-rays have always been great. Gritty dark and grainy.

    • Because the effects were mastered for tape, they had to rebuild the show from scratch or else the effects would look terrible. It'll probably take AI to make a HD version of Voyager for the same reason, not enough people care to see it to justify doing it.

      • not enough people care

        you take that back!!

aint no better trek than voyager

        • Salamanders just called. They love your devotion to their cause

    • This is a misconception. they did make money on it but not buckets of profit. They 100% did not make enough money from the TNG bluray releases for them to justify a similar treatment for DS9/VOY. What was there metric? I don't know. They made their money 10x over with the streaming rights though and I believe the streaming release have the final version of the episodes over the earlier blu-ray releases where they went back and did further SFX editing.

  • Fans have AI remastered all the series on the high seas.

    Yes, even Voyager

    • Not all of them look great though.

This is real HD with new effects because it was shot on film they still had.

      • voyager upscale looks and sounds great ime

        • And the upscales will only get better with time.

          • @AustriaBargain: i dint neg y but not sure how to respond to that comment

      • VOY and DS9 were film too, someone needs to convince Paramount Oracle Baby Larry Ellison to crack open the canisters and scan it all in.

They did some small bits of DS9 for What We Left Behind - worth a watch - although it does seem like we’ll get to see the Bell Riots soon enough on CNN…

        • i think voyager was shot on video, at least that's why the effects were not easily reworked as effects were done in video

          • @0jay: All shot on film, but post was video. Same with TNG and DS9. Panavision is name dropped in the credits :)

    • Does this mean that somewhere, someone has a made a… booty?… of this remastered of this box set?

    • Yes, even Voyager

      Poor Tuvix. Once was enough

  • By your command.

    • By Grabthar's hammer … what a savings

  • Make it so

    • Number 1

  • Ordered. Hope it's good but I've watched enough individual episode remuxes to know it's freaking amazing!

  • Now .. how will I engineer a reason at home to spend this extra fiat money to buy TNG? I have to make it so

  • The best out of all the series

    Thanks op

  • Just wondering, if anyone know… Are these remastered versions on any of the streaming platforms? Apple TV or Paramount+, etc. ?
Else would need to get a Blu Ray player 😄

    • I believe the primary spot to stream it is Paramount+. It has been available on Prime and Netflix in the past but it tends to not stay long because of syndication costs

  • Can anyone confirm this price still works? For me, it goes up to $141.25 when I add to cart or try to "buy now".

EDIT: After a few refreshes, the main page now shows the same (higher) price. 😢

    • I think the deal has been fully claimed now. I'll update the listing

  • Got the Blu Ray remaster on release. Epically done! Very pricey 40-60$ per season. Have watched show too often though so only occasionally go back to classics!

  • Do you guys watch these on a proper blurry player or just a console?

Worth getting a separate bluray player?

    • I watch everything I own on a PS5 which does the job well enough.
Only issue you get is the lack of Dolby vision, otherwise I doubt my eyes could tell the difference between the two players

      • Biggest difference you notice with a good player over a PS5 is the HDR10+ and Dolby Vision

If your TV is just HDR10 you probably won't notice much

But the PS5 is still a very good player regardless.

    • If you have a good TV and sound system, yeah it's worth it

The panasonic ub820 is widely recommended

      • i buy budget arse tcl and hisense TVs, no need for dolby vision then?

      • I just bought the ub820 from JB the other day. Been great so far. Plays Dolby Vision very nicely. Well i just have the budget model TCL C645 QLED 43" 4K TV bought from early 2024 which is nothing special but it supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Can't complain.

  • Anyone received yet? I've got an ETA of Monday. Can't believe how quick Amazon UK is! I'd still be waiting for mainland packages via Aramex here in Tassie!

    • got mine today. it's great amazingly clear, albeit there's a bit of a 'grain' to it but i don't watch tv much or it's the bluray player on the xbox. the picture doesn't feel very natural though so i think it might just be the film reproduction

      • It should have grain and it should look exceptional! If you don't mind needle dropping watch Yesterday's Enterprise 3x15 the lighting in that episode is incredible. I can only imagine how that episode looks on a big OLED.
