  • What's the normal price and is that German made?

    • Germany is pretty much a completely different country these days so I'm not sure it matters

      • Normal rrp?

      • Are you implying German made Bosch manufacturing quality has dropped as a result of the political party swinging far right in recent months??
What a silly thing to say…

Big businesses better quickly buy up all of Australia's iron ore now in case a one nation coalition form the next government, before ore quality drops /s

        • Far right or right? I find anything that is neutral or leans to the right is considered a far right extremist by the majority of the left.

          • @laudern: Far right. The centre-right party in Germany is not the one being mentioned here. Every centre-right party in Europe believes in climate change, the AfD does not

        • I thought he was implying because of all the attacks they've had and the demographic change haha

          • @Hvrd: Yeah, the demographic change is what I was saying, look at the response, but at least he didn't blame the Russians lol

      • I'd rather buy something made in Germany personally. But you do you

        • All the Bosch reps swore that the machine that builds the German made dishwasher motors with was sitting in their Chinese facfory. I verified.

Entry models *mostly have the same qualty motors and pumps. But cut corners in other areas to keep costs down.

    • I think the cheaper models are made in Turkey.

Appliances online has it for $812 RRP $1099.

Made in Türkiye according to them. Still trust it better than most anything in this price range.

    • Would you buy a "smart dishwasher " that could fail?

  • This is out dated model. Enf of life. And its their lowest model. Only 3 stars energy rating.

    • Has there been many revolutionary improvements in dishwashers since this model was introduced ? If so list them out so we know what we are missing out on.

        • Thanks for the ai copypasta,

"While the core cleaning method remains identical,"

So thats a no, the rest is bullshit companies use to make sales.

I can open the door myself lol.

          • @Kommodore: yeah we survived with dishwashers that didnt open the door themselves for 40 years somehow. There is also a non-zero risk of a self opening door malfunctioning and flooding your kitchen that never existed before.

      • I splurged on the Bosch Series 8 model that pops the door open once it finishes the wash cycle for drying. Very simple tech but only on the Series 8 from what I know.

Apart from that, auto-dosing rinse aid is something I'd look out for.

Dishwashers are something you'd use daily so personally I invest in a good one.

        • I have a Bosch washing machine and the iDos is very useful, but for dish washers I use tablets, which includes the rinse aid in them, I think.

          • @redpen: Personally I avoid the all-in-one tablets / pouches as they are mostly a marketing gimmick and not effective in cleaning.

The reason is that dishwashers run in multiple water cycles and rinse aid is supposed to go in the last cycle while detergent should go in the earlier cycles. With the tablets / pouches, rinse aid is just wasted on the early cycles because there is no way for the dishwasher to dispense them out separately.

As a bonus, the dishwashing powder is much cheaper and you only need a small amount - I buy the home brand from ColesWorth / Aldi.

            • @Ashura66: How did I know that was one of the technology connections videos before I even clicked the link.

I love how thorough that guy is, and well, yeah, I'm convinced that tablets are a waste, powder all the way!

            • @Ashura66: Good points! I'll give that a shot when my CotD bags of tablets run out.

        • I bought a Series 6 and it's been fantastic, but in hindsight I wish I went the Series 8 with the door open and PerfectDry/CrystalDry. Apparently dries plastic great, which we have a bit of with containers, lunch boxes, etc.

  • Bought this priced matched last month for $585. Can confirm it works well but it's bottom shelf base model.

    • My condolences for your lost $1 🥀

  • showing as $694 for me

    • You need to click the price beat button on the website.

  • I bought one two months back. It’s great, I’d buy one again. The first couple of washes it smelled a bit plasticky.

My regular dishwasher is a ~$1,400 Miele. This cheap Bosch washes just as well.

  • We have this Bosch and it’s okay. Very cheaply made - plastic inner, flimsy door, flimsy racks, very basic features (cannot stop a wash once it’s been started).

But as far as dishwashers go, they’re all extremely basic appliances (Technology Connections) has a great video about dishwashers, so I don’t think the more expensive ones do much better in terms of actual washing.

Some of the higher priced models will dry better, and use a bit less energy, and will be quieter but overall the technology is basically the same.

This one dries okay, but we’ve found Rinse Aid is a huge help.

For most people this model would be perfectly fine.

    • I would say for most people it's not fine if you can't stop the wash once it has been started.

      • I've had dishwashers for over 20 years and I've never once tried to stop a wash once its started. That would never even enter my head.

        • you have never wanted to add dish mid wash ? it’s quite an achievement actually for 20 years

          • @OzComment: nope, and i wouldn't add something mid wash anyway because i would assume that thing wont get washed properly.

    • You can stop it and resume it mid cycle by pressing the power button. Press one mid cycle and it will saved program (state) and stop. Do what you need to do, close the door and press power again and it will resume.

      • Yep. It's in the manual - you can stop it and resume it by just pressing it once.

Note: Holding START for about 3 seconds performs a Reset/Cancel, which terminates the programme rather than pausing it.

      • Thank you! :) I’ll definitely have to try this because for me it didn’t do anything. It would be very handy to be able to pause the cycle so I’ll have to double check, or maybe I’m just dense when it comes to operating the appliance.

        • Not dense.. I read the manual and have tried this on mine. Have a go and reply back if it works for you too.

          • @bigbadboogieman: It works! Thank you!! For ages I thought I couldn’t stop or reset it, I obviously didn’t read the manual properly. Thanks again for the info :)

    • Are you saying this model doesn't have a rinse aid compartment to fill up and use?

      • Mine definitely has a rinse aid thing - it’s just that in order for it to dry properly I have to use the rinse aid function. Without rinse aid it’s pretty crappy at drying.

  • Nice colour! Too bad I got no space and my dishwasher is 2 hands

  • Grabbed one for the the parent's. Stacked with giftcards to pring it down close to 500 :) Thanks!

  • Got one C&C MacGregor, Price match button used, and checkout gave me $524 with PayPal

  • I've got an older model Bosch Silence Plus series 6. I've noticed that it no longer dissolves the tablets and I'm having to do 2 1hr washes to get the dishes clean. The bottom rack is clean but the top is still not as clean.

Would this one be a decent replacement? We use it every day. Don't really care about all these extra functions (if any). Just want clean dishes.
