  • Need to port out then port in right if we r current user of boost

    • Do you know if this applies to Belong users as well?

      • You should be safe , although you could give boost a call.

  • Latest activation date ? Mine expires only jan 2027

    • It mentions it on the image but the year is hard to read. Hopefully 2028.

      • Just wondering, do they give you the gift card straight away, or is it after the activation?

        • Normally a few days after purchase, you need to check your registered email.

Store staff would tell you it can take weeks for the code to be emailed to you so it's best to assume it make take weeks instead of days.

          • @netsurfer: so the sim card does not need to be activated right?

            • @ShadowSaver: It does not - we’ve sat on these for well over a year. Credit came within a week of purchase. Validity is on the back of the boost pack.

        • Last time I bought one of these the bonus gift card only arrived if you activated within a certain date. (I asked in store before purchasing). I forgot to activate within the date, so no gift card for me shrug

        • We brought yesterday for $249 and check out deducts $30 straight away that makes it $219 net.

          • @marvelfeng: activate by?

            • @ShadowSaver: You don't need to activate the SIM in order to get the Costco gift card.

Last time's batch I've got was end of Feb 2028. However, last time, each store has a different batch. One OZBer (who got one) reported his one is mid 2028.

          • @marvelfeng: Deal makes it sound like it’s $219 +$30 gift voucher

            • @winaxter: That is the deal so your net cost is $189

            • @winaxter: indeed it is $189 after costco $30 GC

  • Is it me or Boost 5g data services has become crap recently. In Perth CBD and can't get a signal on 4th floor. Have to walk out of the building to get data services

    • I'm experiencing the same problem, also in the Perth CBD. It used to be fine, but now I can't even open a website using Boost internet.

    • Same in Sydney and Melbourne.

Why? Because, Telstra customers get priority.

      • Isn't it supposed to be on full telstra network, not wholesale network?

        • The "real" network and not the slightly reduced rural coverage MVNO network are completely separate to certain plans being speed throttled and de-prioritised for network traffic.

      • Well all the smug boost people on facebook etc reckon its "real telstra" as opposed to the version Aldi mobile has.

        • Its supposed to be, the Aldi telstra is kinda crappy in comparison (or was) haven't compared for a while. It wasnt long ago Telstra acquired Boost, so not sure if they have made any changes for better or worse.

          • @eggaz: It's still full Telstra network. I tried to transfer from Telstra to Boost and encountered an issue (about 2 weeks ago). Telstra support staff helped me mostly on the issue (because the transfer found I have 2 Telstra accounts and tried to move me to the wrong Telstra account (and couldn't find the number to transfer). There is technically a porting team for Boost, but in my case, the Telstra support staff told me if I don't get my Telstra accounts glitch fix, the porting will never succeed.

After the transfer, my "Boost" account number is the same as the correct Telstra account number.

            • @netsurfer: The same shenanigans happened to my mother in law , currently not a fan of boost 😅

      • Maybe if you are Telstra postpaid customer, you get priority. My experience with Telstra prepaid vs Boost prepaid is that they are equally inconsistent. I've had Boost prepaid beating Telstra prepaid in download and upload speed by 2X (same place) and I was expecting Telstra prepaid to blow away Boost prepaid. The issue is Telstra isn't as good as it used to be.

    • Eh tbh I'm on full Telstra (waiting for a deal like this to switch) and I was thinking the same has become really shit these days

    • Same
it didn’t work (0) in high traffic areas where Telstra prepaid works fine.

    • Well if you don't mind waiting there'll be a deal for the Telstra prepaid one + $40 Costco gift card soon.

    • Despite what they say boost doesn't have access to the full Telstra networks speeds. I've done multiple tests on the same devices with both Sims

      • That's because their 5G network is capped at 150Mbps

        • Apologies meant to say coverage

    • I'm having the same problems, use to be with the full Telstra network and it was great.

    • I moved from boost 1.5 years ago because of poor reception in Brisbane. On Telstra pre paid and it’s better but still disappointing. Apparently Telstra prioritises post paid over pre paid over boost over wholesale such as Aldi.

  • Does it include international calls?

    • Yes it does

  • Spotted on sale today at Costco Auburn

    • Probably wont get the $30 gift card unless you buy it tomorrow

      • I just visited Costco Perth and it’s already advertised with $30 gift card. Staff even told me to wait couple days for gift card to be sent to my email. So the deal is live now.

  • Still waiting for a good deal on their eSIM plans.

    • Free conversation to eSIM after you activate your physical SIM

      • Didn't notice that and I did some research and can confirm they do support this!
        Thank mate!

  • If I buy 2, do I get 2 gift cards?

  • And I just spent 265 for the 290Gb pack three days ago

    hands in my ozb license

    • Hopefully with a $60 cashback?

    • Buy another one then return for the $265 one.

      • You cannot return sim card. This is my experience in WA.

  • Can anyone confirm the expiry date on these? I just signed up for 12 months with lyca till Aug 2027.

    • Last lot we bought were around 18 months, check back of packaging.

  • Does porting from Telstra itself count as a different service?

    • Pretty sure it is. Telstra and Boost count as the same. Aldi etc counts as a different service

    • Yes, it does. ported from Telstra to Boost, without any issue

    • Yes, porting from Telstra to Boost does let you keep the number. Normally, that works, but if you have multiple Telstra mobile services, it might be better to call Boost support team to help you do the transfer. In cases where Telstra messed up and created multiple accounts for you, the online system can glitch and cause issues.

  • As a current Boost customer, what’s the cheapest sim/plan to change to?

    • Coles currently selling $25 Coles Mobile prepaid sims for $10, unsure of elsewhere

    • i just do kogan esim - all online
join for a month then back to boost

    • $2 ALDIMobile SIM. Select Family plan. No need to purchase PAYG credit. Port straight out to Boost.

  • Anyone has link to tomorrow's catalogue, can you pls share thanks

  • Nice but got one from topcashback deal already.

  • So this deal at Costco starts tomorrow?

  • It's already live, saw it in store yesterday.

  • Anyone got tomorrow catalogue? Thanks

  • The image says $219.99 after $30 off??

    • Do we pay $219.99 and also get $30 coupon

      OR

We pay $249.99 and get $30 coupon to make it effectively $219.99?

      • $249 minus coupon

    • It is $30 off the regular price of $249.99 right now. So you pay $219.99 at the register, and you'll receive a $30 Costco gift card via email in about a week.

  • How is this better than those other 365 day deals which are like 100-120 with cashback?

    • Telstra network plus 5G

  • Deal is live now. I just purchased at Costco Perth. Paid $219.99 and staff told me $30 gift card would be sent to my email in couple days.

    • So it means its 219 + $30 gift card in the email?

  • any other alternate deals for those who are not members of costco?

  • I
    s that not $219.99 after 30$ card ?

    • Pay $219.99 and also get $30 costco gc, so net cost is like 189.99.

      • So cheap.

  • Thanks OP

Available today at Perth Airport Costco. Was advised $30 gift card will be emailed shortly

  • what's the expiry (date)? ie need to activate before (date).

    • mid 2028 for me.

  • When you pick up the sim card at the Costco collection window, just check before you leave that the actual sim card is in the packaging. Last one I bought, it was missing. The staff had forgotten to put it in, and it was a big hassle to get it. They told me it has happened multiple times…

  • Have an esim only phone. Also currently on boost expiring December. How do we port back in?

  • For those bitching about boost, there is optus option as well at costco, $199 for the $350 prepaid plan. Inclusions can be checked at optus website under $350 long expiry plans.

  • Wish they would reinstate the smaller GB plans . Only need 150gb roughly .

  • Can we buy this for a friend, or do we have to use the simcard ourselves as Costco member? (as I'm already using Boost mobile)

    • Yes, you can purchase these for a friend as they haven’t been activated to an individuals account.

  • I'm assuming if I go as a visitor (ie with a gift card as my entry) that I wouldn't be able to buy this?

    • You assumed correctly!

    • this is the way

  • My current Boost plan will end mid Jan 2027, i still have about 220 GB data. Is there anyway i can take this Boost plan and recharge my existing plan to take advantage of unused data

    • don't think so, once you recharge, you forfeit what's left in current plan.
