Ozito PXC 36V (2x18V) 410mm Brushless Lawn Mower Kit $229 @ Bunnings Warehouse (In-Store)

1790

I was at bunnings chatswood trying to buy a lawn mower, saw this at $229. I could not believe it. Took one straight away. Not sure whether it is chatswood store only, still have 6 or 7 there.
Be quick.

  • If you have the code you can check stock here

    https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/

I bought this from last deal $399 with 4 batteries and charger

    • Neg by accident. Apologies.

      • You can remove it by clicking the three dots to the right of the reply link above on their comment, then click Votes, and click the red minus icon next to your vote.

        • But then you can't 'Neg by accident' anymore

          • @eddyah: Neg by deliberate. No apologies.

            • @ozbozb123: You neggars could do better than -5!

It's really a test on people paying attention to comments.

              Neg more!

        • Thanks. Unfortunately, I can’t undo it once it’s been more than an hour. I’ll keep that in mind next time.

          • @BirdFlu: Report the comment and ask mods to remove your vote.

    • That one is 50mm bigger too

      • and Steel deck https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/search/0902900

Some store said with 1 in stock, not very sure if it is real.

        • This is the one I’m hoping to get this Black Friday

        • A big steel deck is harder than a little plastic deck.

          • @tenpercent: plastic decks are the only ones worth playing with

        • Checked this code last week and rang these stores. None had stock. The ones showing in stock are likely returned or damaged

        • That link says a few in stock around Sydney, 1 in Orange and 1 in Alice Springs.
But the price column says " $246.75 "…And that's the steel base 18 inch one.

      • It's not the size that counts. It's how you use it.

    • Do you know what the code is?

  • The one to get is the steel deck version for $399. So this is a good price if you don't mind the plastic construction

    • The plastic is quite rugged. Just don't leave it out in the sun between uses.

      • My small one has been neglected a lot and the plastic has never shown any issues. Including forgetting it in the rain. The sticker has seen better days though…

Although being so light maybe the plastic gets less strain.

        https://imgur.com/a/3ixn9kb

      • got the plastic one around 18 months ago (~$350 back then from memory) - still going strong, no major issues due to storing it out of sun. blade is starting to get a bit dull though

    • Steel deck is bigger but isn't it heaver to move so a slower mow if you have a curvy lwan

      • My steel deck did heavier, may because bigger.

    • I rate the steel deck one, actually really happy with it coming from a petrol Ryobi that served me well for basically 10 years

      • I'm the same, i struggled with my 4 stroke for a few weekends, then just went out and grabbed steel deck - definitely the perfect option for my place (maybe 100sqm lawn, often neglected), with a full charge, it'll do it twice

    • Steel deck is far superior. IYKYK

      • IKY then why not share what YK with the rest of the class, or is it a secret for only the cool lawn mower owners? I hope the answer is more than just "it's stronger".

      • I've had the plastic deck one for at least two years now, no issues.

It's not like it's made out of coke bottles or something…

        • Plastic gang reporting it, going strong since 2022. I really have no reason to upgrade but the bigger blade still decks are a tempting upgrade.

        • We've had our plastic one for 5+ years, best thing ever. Easy for kids to do the lawns for us. Batteries have lasted well.

Only issue has been dirt getting into contacts where you handle pivots, blew that out and all good again.

        • Yep used plastic on a small old one that I didn't take care of at all for 3 years now and we got it second hand. Left in the sun and rain like an idiot and it's still fine.

  • Just after Bunnings closed for today

  • Seasonal promo, not regular stock item , so once Bunnings clear their warehouse, that’s it for this summer for this mower.

  • Looks like a new line, the PDF manual creation date is 8/17/26.

URL should be https://www.bunnings.com.au/_p1108457 but not showing yet on bunnings site or on YIS.

Good price if $229 is the actual price… the 370mm dual 18V mower at Aldi was $250.

  • Been holding out for one of the steel deck ones to go on sale again but 410mm is big enough if this becomes available.

  • These are fine, nothing not to believe

    • Phone is fine?

  • @Series4Episode10

    • What? you trolls want now?

      • I thought you had said something about Ozito in another discussion. Thought you might be interested. Maybe I misread. Sorry if that's the case.

        • This site is full of fools!

            • @tenpercent: I told my story about a 5 piece Ozito set that had 1 tool intermittent fault out of the box and several of the other tools died soon after under light load- short term usage, especially the 115mm angle grinder which 2 of them died under warranty, the second one I simply turned it on and it shortly after smoked up before even a load was applied, and the hassles Bunnings put me through over it … and the Ozito fanbois called me a liar … can't be bothered with this site much anymore!
              .
Not to leave out the circular saws safety cover jams EVERY single time I use it, it and a drill are the only tools that still exist, moved on to a pro brand, lesson learnt!

              • @Series4Episode10: Ozito isn't exactly a premium brand, so I'm not surprised. Bunnings are happy to put everyone's faces including young children into a facial recognition database just in case because it helps keep their staff safe, somehow, apparently. So I'm also not surprised at the shitty experience you had with them.
Best to ignore the usual suspects then. There's a lot of corporate boot lickers and victim blamers here.

              • @Series4Episode10: I've never had an issue with Ozito gear.

                • @JIMB0: I’ve only had one Ozito brushless drill fail after about two years, so my experience has been pretty good. I also have a colleague who seems to break tools all the time — the electrician had to repair his welder quite often. He even goes through work overalls like crazy. Our company supplied us with two every six months, but he went through more than ten in one year. The good thing is that the company didn't charged him for the extras.
I have another friend who is always damaging or losing his phone too. Some people just seem to be harder on their stuff than others. So I think personal usage and how people treat their tools can make a big difference.

                • @JIMB0: Ozito … the power tool of choice of all dole bludgers

                  • @Series4Episode10: I'm actually a self funded retiree, now that we cleared that up let's get back to discussing mowers.

                    • @JIMB0: Took you a while to think up that excuse … I'll let you get back to trolling people on Ozbargain … highly experienced and mighty good at it!

              • @Series4Episode10: Might be the standard gear.

I was able to get many of the brushless tools for $50 each when they went on sale.

Even then, my preferred tool has been the $33 brushless small drill, which is a great lightweight tool.

I've done a full kitchen and deck build no problems ..

                • @Splagito: It was 2019 … That's how long one of these twonks that want to keep bringing the post I made about it up & cry cause it made their beloved Ozito look badly!,
                  .
They did not sell the same stuff they do now, and believe me they sold some absolute woeful trash garbage back then, NO quality control AT ALL!! … good thing about it I now appreciate the personal tools I have and would NEVER consider Ozito or an off-brand cheap POS ever AGAIN! … I only bought the stuff after fugging up and leaving one of my work supplied tools at home after having them on the weekend, then having to hide that fact from my employer, I lived away from home Mon-Fri on the road maintaining assets for a large privately owned company - it really was a bad week! thought I could get by with Ozito for personal use … BZZZZZT!

              • @Series4Episode10: Sounds like a you issue. Maybe you bullied the Ozito gear.

  • Hope the Ryobi 36v goes on sale on BF, or soon

  • Can anyone provide a link to the product? I can’t find it on the website

  • Thanks. I tried using the PowerPass app and checked two local stores, neither shows this item in stock. Does that mean they’re unlikely to have any stock there, so there’s probably no point going in tomorrow to check?

    • Can’t find it on power pass

    • I checked 2 stores and got it at oxley. I first checked Acacia Ridge but didn't find it, however I think I might have looked in the wrong spot as I was about to leave the Oxley store when I spotted them too. Had like 5 left.

  • I think it’s an incorrect pricing. I was at Bunnings earlier today and pretty sure I saw the 18v for this price

    • The 18v is $199

    • It is not. It was on a separate place with big price tag and quite a few of them. May be clearing of old stocks?

      • any chance you have the item number?

        • If it helps the item number is I/N:1108457

  • Is it powerful enough? I'm wondering. Its line trimmer is not strong enough, comparing to a petrol-powered one.

    • What grass do you have. I found most 2x18v units I tried couldn't cut my tiftuff in summer. Had to get an Ego 56v.

    • Yes, but if I let the grass/weeds get super long (like above ankle height) then I usually have to do a first pass with my whipper snipper.

If the grass is very long, but not overgrown I will have to do two passes to get down to the lowest height on the mower (25mm).

      • If you're cutting at 25mm, your not a true lawn guy….

        • No I'm not, my lawn is mostly weeds and holes from my dog. Thanks for the advice though.

        • Ain't nobody got time for dat

    • 36v is weak

  • Accord to the Ozito website PMBK-4041 is a promotional product

    https://www.ozito.com.au/p/3001390-pbmk-4041-ex-aus/

  • Is this significantly more powerful than the 18V version? Mine has been ok but in some lawn areas with thick grass it does get stuck sometimes.

    • Yes more torque. A 36v mower won't bog down as much as an 18v mower.

  • Hmm this is cheaper than buying new batteries for my 8yo aeg mower. Tempted to go the self propelled version as my lawn is a bit bumpy. Anyone tried it?

    • Regular steel deck one is fine even if you have a bit of a gradient, it's obviously heavier but not to the point it's a burden.

    • Having some old Ozito tools still holding on way past the rest of the stuff in the Ozito kit I bought in 2019 - Ozito batteries are way less energy dense and fail at a rate far quicker than my Makita stuff - in fact not one of those Ozito batteries that came with the kit originally lasted long at all, bought a 4 piece Makita set having learnt my lesson buying cheap crap, purchased in 2020 after buying a property, every one of those 3 batteries is still good (2 included and 1 by redemption)
      .
I've bought several packs of Ozito batteries over that time to keep using those tools and a Ozito vacuum cleaner that's really good and right now I only have 1 working Ozito battery, NOT worth the $, cost of ownership WAY to high, set up an alert on Ebay for for your branded batteries, I often get $100 Makita 5ah batteries of a guy (ryde tools or something like that) who must be buying the sets when they come up cheap and selling off the individual pieces.

      • You pay the price for the battery build using well known brand cells. Buy a spot welder and learn to repack your batteries (without burning your house down 😅). Pretty sure ozito use tenpower branded cells which keeps the price of the tool battery down hence the lower life cycle.

        • Have a spot welder and NOT rebuilding Ozito batteries

          • @Series4Episode10: Why not if thats your issue?

            • @Lifeline: I've spent time in the past building up battery packs from scratch for fun. Cannot be arsed doing that these days though- not enough time, too many other more enjoyable or more important things to spend it on than rebuilding low quality battery packs.

The older I get, the more the time vs money balance tilts.

              • @rumblytangara: Building from scratch sure. I need to rebuild my ebike battery but can't be arsed. But repacking tool batteries using the same bms is easy enough.

      • You’re comparing ozito.. and entry level brand to makita.. a top tier brand. And are surprised at quality difference?

        • Really not sure why people have a problem with someone pointing out the quality difference, when most of this sub is so wild about Ozito being 'just as good' as major brands for around the home.

I've got some Ozito stuff, and some other brands. For what it is (dirt cheap), it's… fine. But it also just feels like cheap junk in comparison. Some people on the sub don't seem to like this being pointed out.

    • I just upgraded our old small one. Recently got a new place with a bigger lawn so was dreading when it starts raining again. This was perfect timing.

      https://imgur.com/a/3ixn9kb

  • 4.0ah batteries seem a bit small for a mower?

What's the avg run time on a biweekly trim of kykuku lawn?

Will it cut through a neglected lawn? (I normally cut the neighbors after a couple of months before the weeds seed and head our way).

*Still 700m2 minimum blocks here.. so lawns are actual old school "lawns ". 15 -20min to cut normally (no catcher/ no stopping).

    • 4.0ah will do 15-20 mins easy. The plastic ones aren't the greatest for long grass/large area but you can always leave it on the highest setting and it will do the job unless its like a foot tall.

I used one of these for a couple years on a 500 sq block. It was fine. Then upgraded to the steel deck for the last few years and it has been much better.

Couldnt beat the plastic one for lightness/portabilty though. You can lift it with one hand.

      • Hmmm.. might grab the plastic for "throwing in tbe back of the car" jobs.

Guess it could benefit from some weight added while mowing. Might add a pvc pipe full of sand around the top.

  • Can confirm it’s a promo item and Bunnings have plenty of stock. This ($229) or wait until the 460mm steel deck goes on special for $399 (Black Friday)?

    • Can u share which suburb ?

    • Is the 399 a confirmed one for black friday? And is it that much better for approx 120m2 of lawn?
      TIA

      • It was a deal last year. Hoping for the same this year. I will likely buy this one and hold onto it unopened until Black Friday to see if the better one appears

        • cheers mate!

  • Called up my local (Gladstone 4680), they said it looks like it didn't get delivered here or or any nearby stores in Central Queensland. Maybe a city promo?

    • Just been to Yeppoon and can confirm they have at least 6 of them up the centre Isle

      • Well, the dude lied to me then. Yeppoon was the first one he checked…
