Great deal on a backpack which is hard enough to find in stock, let alone at a discounted price.

This backpack has many, many positive reviews all over YT:

  • Fits Jetstar's new carryon size limits. Just barely

    • But the under the seat carry-on limit is 40 x 30 x 20 cm, so this one won't fit???

      • It slightly over with Jetstar current rules but it definitely won't fit Jetstar's new rules after 02 Feb 2027

        • The new limit of 40 x 30 x 20 is the same as Ryanair and there's plenty of videos showing it fits Ryanair's sizers

  • Thank you. I've been eyeing a deal on this one

  • Best I can see, no dedicated laptop section, just a zipper that lets you access the bottom of the bag where the sorta-laptop-sleeve is - or am I missing something?

    • Depends on what you define as "dedicated".

There is a dedicated pouch for a laptop, but it also forms part of the main compartment. There is a semi-dedicated zipper to access the laptop sleeve too, but you can also access some of the main compartment too.

    • It's not an EDC / "daily work" style laptop bag to be honest if that's what you're after - basically the entire front opens up, and you can access the laptop compartment with a dedicated zipper.

The way the front opens up makes it great for packing clothes and travel, but not really practical for putting general work or tech items as you can't really access it well when the bag is upright.

      • I use mine for carrying a 16" Legion laptop to work and back and for that it's perfect. Can also fit groceries and other stuff easily. Best bag I've owned and fantastic for onebag travelers.

  • This is a good (or very good) travel bag (roomy, well designed, fits cabin limits), but its not a particularly good hiking bag (no hip belt, shoulder straps are not heavily padded, centre of gravity can be too far back especially with the expansion). You can use it as a day pack for urban walking or short hikes if you dont put too much in it.

However, good hiking packs will generally not fit under seats/are a lot more bulky.

So pick according to your needs.

    • I've got a Farview that I took as a carry on with Jetstar (international) recently without issue. I looked at this one but preferred the farview because it has a hip and chest belt that can pack away. Not sure how that's going to go with the new budget carrier rules next year though :(

  • Grey appears to be OOS

  • Got this bag as soon as it came out and tried it for a year. Terrible for most things except for going short distances like plane to hotel, and light load outs.

Uncomfortable with moderate load outs. Trash with heavy load outs. Expansion is a comforting feature but bag feels and looks odd when expanded (the bag doesn't have enough frame/structure for it). Back of bag material is rough and will make your shirt ride up. Lack of organisation and the bag's choice of pocket sizes compels the use of pouches and packing cubes. I always had problem finding things because it would all end up mixed together in the front pouch or in the main compartment.

It simply has good reviews for that particular price range and I had no problems taking it on board budget or regional flights. But you end up making too many compromises over time.

    • Which one would you recommend ?

      • If you like the shape/design language of the 26+6, there are plenty of better alternatives: Toshi rework v2, aer travel pack/city pack pro, sympl commuter, civic panel loader, almond oak 25 + 5 (if you really need something like the 26+6).

For expansion just pack a $5 foldable tote/duffle - Voila! emergency space, bag for wet/smelly things, reusable shopping bag. I've never met anyone who uses expansion reguarly.

I think most of the above suggestions will self stand as well. It was so annoying righting the 26+6 up all the time or trying to find somewhere to rest it against. I could go on about how many more frustrating things I found about the 26+6 but simply there are better options.

  • Osprey Daylite 35L is also $135 at Amazon and that one is usually a bit more expensive than the 26+6

  • The $35 Kmart one is pretty good value imo. Even has a waterproof compartment.
