CamelCamelCamel. How can you use this in Switch 1?
It’s not supported.
microSD Express Card is compatible with microSD card slot but speed will be reduced to that of the microSD card.
Using one right now in my modded oled
Super Mario Kard
nice price
Is this not just the RRP now?
I've been waiting to get one for a month now and they've been $69 everywhere the whole time but not on sale.
Was $64 at Target a few weeks ago, up to $69 since then, seems to just be everyday price.
I'm holding out for a 512gb one
Same. Fingers crossed for something in the next 6 months.
Wouldn’t it be cheaper for 2 x 256gb
Conveniece of 1 card is so you dont need to swap it out, i guess.
Yep. My 4 year old who uses the switch I'm confident would lose the sd card as well… Losing the card negates any $ savings
Wish I got the Atrix express cards at ebgames when they were cheap
Have they gotten more expensive instead of cheaper? Lmao
They'll only go up because of AI shenanigans. Wish I'd bought a second one of this deal even though I haven't needed the first yet lol: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/943545
Why does AI impact SD cards?
I imagine it uses the same factories that produces the memory chips
AI industry has decimated the NAND and hard drive industries. They nearly buy it all, and the consumer market pays the price.
SD cards are made from NAND.
If it makes you feel better, those Atrix cards are terrible. I had two die without reason until I just got a refund and bought the Sandisk.
Mine has been fine albeit not a heavy user of our switch 2
All thanks to your nearest data surveillance centre eating up all the tech and memory resources
! You remind me I have a 1TB microsd in my switch ! ty
Any recommendations for cheap Switch 2 SD cards bigger than 256GB?
tbh, no. I bought it years ago. Long before AI boom
I got a 4tb microsd card shortly after buying a Switch 2….. thought I was getting a bargain. Until I re-read the listing and I was just getting a basic card and not the "express" lol. I made the best of a bad situation and just used it in my original Switch instead. Still have more than 3tb free LOL.
I ended up spending an extra $300 on to of the cost of the microsd card thst I purchased to buy a 4tb microsd express card
I got a 4tb microsd card
No you didn't, the largest ordinary micro SD card currently available is 2TB, and the largest express card is 1TB. If your card says 4TB, you've been scammed, and it will have much lower ACTUAL capacity, even though your PC might report it has 4TB size.
If you try to write to the card above its actual capacity, you'll find your card is suddenly corrupted.
Or do you mean 4 Terabits, which is a 512GB card?
Good price. Note that it does not advertise a V30/U3 video rating. Might not be compatible with cameras or GoPros.
You know memory prices are ridiculous when the the price of thes branded memory cards which were always heavily ovrpriced is now considered good.
any issues with fakes when purchasing from Amazon?
I’ve always headed people need to be wary of this, but I’ve personally had no issues with Amazon. I do always check to make sure it’s Amazon shipping it though and that it has good reviews (often over 1k)
You can get caught out by Amazon shipping too for what it's worth.
Amazon chuck all sellers in their warehousing program's goods into the same stock pool, including their own stock.
So if one of those sellers has sent fake cards to the Amazon warehouse, you could buy them from any of the sellers including Amazon themselves.
Good to know!
Any good deals for a 512? Wanting to use it for my sons modded switch
This is the best I found for a reputable card: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/samsung-512gb-micro-sdxc-evo-…
Is this good for the Switch 2?
No, you can only use micro express on switch 2
@CodeXD: Thank you, very confusing. Is there any good cards for cheap greater than 256GB that work with the Switch 2 or are we kind of stuck with the one in the OP?
@CodeXD: Thank you for the link. A couple people above said their Atrix SD card failed and after a quick google there's a few reddit threads saying the same thing.
I might just wait and hope for a Black Friday sale.
Thank you though!
Pretty standard that one of the major stores will have it at this price nowadays and you can price match.
If you want it cheaper your best bet is if you have access to JB Business or Good Guys Commercial through your union/bank/electricity provider etc.
I got mine a while back through GG Commercial for 40 something click and collect.
I couldn't find it on JB commercial. I found it at GG Commercial, around $65.
Yes I just went through JB business and none of their gaming stuff seems to be discounted further and the SD card isn't even on there.
Would this work for a retro handheld?
It works in anything that takes microSD, but you won't get the full performance the express mode gives unless the device supports it.
It works in anything that takes microSD
Well, almost. Lots of older devices were designed in the SDHC era (32GB and smaller), and won't recognize larger cards.
It's for a Retroid Pocket Flip 2 running a SD865. I think it should be okay?
@tacos4brekkie: Sorry, no idea. I found 128GB cards wouldn't work in my decade-old phones and tablets, but 32GB cards did. The instructions for your device should tell you the largest-capacity card it can take. If it's a modern device, it should be fine.
Thanks. It's one of the cheapest 256GB cards I've seen currently and my Retroid Pocket Flip 2 just came so I'll take it.
Bought for $57 back in April, works well in a modded original switch…. $59 at target with the newsletter coupon is your best bet
