  • @Jimothy Wongingtons do you still have your Ozito storage system? There's all these new Einhell ones to add on!

    • No I never got one , by the time I thought hey I’ll give it a go they quietly had been pulled from shelves…

      • Maybe I'm thinking of someone else who had it. Well now's the time!

        • I kinda learning towards the toughbuilt 3 pc combo with the drawers, but idk something about it still seems off

          • @Jimothy Wongingtons: The newer toughbuilt with the locks are really good. Side rails are much easier to deal with than Packout and there will be new additions coming out this month. Already a heap of new stuff available from China and AliExpress.

            • @Clear: @Clear Which ones from Aliexpress are you looking at?

              • @abadacus: Sometimes the boxes are cheap on AliExpress after codes and cashback, though often better to buy locally from Bunnings or TKD for faster delivery. You can get cheaper accessories like this adapter that allows you to stack a larger box ontop of two smaller boxes.

Also the hand tool holder isn't available locally yet. There's unofficial workbenches too, though you can find those and other 3D printer products available from other sellers online potentially cheaper.

      • Sounds like you didn’t learn your lesson from when Mr T was at the mall

  • As someone who likes to use their batteries I wonder what the tabless are going to be worth vs other brands.

  • Out with a decent product (Bosch), in with a high Bunnings profit, low quality piece of rubbish

    • You've used Einhell Professional already? 😜

It's certainly a shame Bosch is out due to poor sales. They do make a lot of quality tools.

      • It is a shame Bunnings are clearing out Bosch but i got some amazing deals on their display stock in my local store

        • Bunnings sell Bosch? I thought they left to go with Masters? Then never really came back with a full line because the conditions Bunnings sets on their suppliers wasn't worth it after they found it was more profitable to sell direct through eBay & Amazon?

      • This is the way…
What was it, 80% of brands in Bunnings is their own brand?

        • It wouldn't be anywhere near that high. They do own brands like Craftright and Marquee. Ozito is owned by Einhell Germany and Bunnings have exclusive rights.

          • @Clear: They have trademarks for over 9000 of their products including Citeco, Jumbuck, Mondella, Trojan, Happy Tails, Craftright and Marquee plus exclusive arrangements with brands such as Ryobi and Ozito.

Source: Four Corners - Investigating Bunnings

      • Should have ditched Ryobi though. Ryobi are neither cheap nor quality. They exist only for those whom are afraid of ozito

    • Regular Ozito has improved a lot in recent years. Some pieces are hit and miss, but the Professional range is well reviewed in Europe.

      • Agreed. The Ozito mowers are excellent and now we can get wider self propelled mowers

      • I have both Bosch Pro saw and grinders because they were cheap and the Ozito grinders are junk . Most Ozito gear is just just way better value and more than adequate for the work I do .
I've been eyeing off a few Einhell tools on Amazon so will hopefully be cheaper .

        • From what I've seen (3 luxury houses being built by developers in a nearby suburb) Ozito consumer gear is the power tool choice for Chinese builders

      • What's the professional Ozito range? I thought their warranty specified it wasn't too be used like that.

        Edit: oh, Einhall Professional

    • Not sure why the downvotes, that’s clearly what this is. Much cheaper for Bunnings to source. Call it “professional” to suck people in. But probably perfectly adequate for most people

      • You're making it sound like Bunnings have got a heap of cheaper Ozito tools, slapped the label Professional on it and now charging more. Einhell Professional is a legitimate line of products by Einhell Germany.

        • Some of the pro range at least that are sold overseas are the same as the ozito brushless versions sold here after all they are the same company. The 3 panel worklight looks identical to ozito PXWLS-3000 which was deleted recently… now I can see why

          • @jjoker: Bunnings and Ozito aren't the same company. Easy to make that mistake.

            • @Clear: I mean ozito and einhell

              • @jjoker: Yes that's correct.

                • @Clear: And the ozito 3 panel worklight was 99 and the pro version is 159 so now that it has trade warranty up goes the price

                  • @jjoker: Then we'll watch it go to $99 on sale haha

    • Out with a decent product (Bosch), in with a high Bunnings profit, low quality piece of rubbish
No idea the quality of these and granted Bosch have a good reputation but you do know Bunnings aren’t the only ones profiting from products they sell? Bosch is not some little Aussie battler that just lost their right to sell their product and now risk bankruptcy. Bosch could buy Westfarmers if they wanted to.

  • +1 for the efforts!!

  • top effort - serves as a PSA too!

    • Give it time.
They're on par with (if not better than some) trade quality brands here.

Related to Ozito but nothing like it in terms of quality

      • Hopefully we get Ozito quality deals or Dewalt quality redemptions

    • I've seen many tradies with (select items only of course) ozito gear in recent years. Granted trades folk are not all what they once were but is what it is.

    • People say the same thing about Ryobi, but guess what…

    • R U OK

    • Einhell, ein

It's German for "A Bright, A". No one who speaks German could be an evil man.

      • I moustache you what leads you to such a final conclusion

    • Looks like you are now headed for hell too - using words like 'dropkicks' makes baby Jesus cry.

      • Also, the dropkick is the one requiring the most skill to use even if it's just for showing off.

  • Range looks good. Wonder when we'll see stock, another month?

Also any word on the nailer?

  • So do these come with improved batteries, or the badly-reviewed Ozito PCX batteries from the other thread this week?

    • Ozito PCX batteries

What's that, some kind of cheap knockoff?

  • Gonna cuddle my Milwaukee M18 high impact wrench.

  • Google states the following: Genuine Ozito PXC (Power X-Change) 18V and Einhell Power X-Change 18V batteries are 100% interchangeable and cross-compatible out of the box because Ozito's PXC line is manufactured on the Einhell platform.

    • You could have just read the first part of the deal to figure that out.

  • What's with all the dummies in this post going on about "lol wouldn't touch it, ozito bad!". …It's a different line up. Do people not touch DeWalt too because of Black and Deckers entry level tools? (Which ozito is better than).

    • We'll have to wait and see. That black and red cheapo plastic that Ozito uses has a bit of inertia to overcome. Maybe it'll be great, maybe it will be nasty. <shrugs>

      • Personally I don't have great hopes for any Bunning-operated tool monopoly. I try to avoid them to keep competitors in business- it's good to have more than one retailer option iwhich us why I've shied away from Ozito/Ryobi unless it's for the cheapest deals which I have low usage or reliance on. Even my shop Ozito shop blower is noticeably more crap than my Bosch one, but it was also a third of the price so it's a good spare unit.
    • I have Milwaukee, DeWalt and Ozito. No question that Ozito is a long way behind the DeWalt in quality (i have been gifting Ozito tools to my son as I replace them with DeWalt)

  • Tell us the price of the tools son

    • Prices are in the powerpass app

      • Can you see the price of the tabless battery?

        • $149

      • What about the new 250nm impact driver mate?

        • $179

      • Could you please tell me the price of the following?

        18V Brushless Sub-Compact 750Nm 1/2" Impact Wrench Skin

        • $349

  • I love my ozito stuff. Some battery tools are over 5 years old and are working just fine, great for DIY. Most of them have gone through 2 home renovations and the 36V mower is being used every other week, no issues. Will definitely look at a more premium version that is compatible with the 5x 4ah batteries I already have.

    • Well sometimes you get lucky. I had 2 of the mowers, both failed, so I went to Makita. Other Ozito stuff has been fine to great for low work load.

      • The mowers you need to go a step up from what you think you need. The smaller/cheaper mowers struggle the moment you hit long/damp grass. TBH Ozito would have been better off never even releasing the 18v options, nobody running a home brand electric mower is mowing often enough to have a lawn the 18v ones could handle without burning out.

    • The only Ozito tool I have now is the brushless mini pruning chainsaw. Heaps of good reviews and is one of their quality products. I also had their wet/dry vac which wasn't the best as expected for the price. For power tools, DeWALT is my favourite!

  • Einhell Professional tools have a 3 year replacement warranty and a 10 year brushless motor repair warranty.

Link states 2yr repair warranty for tools plus 1 for registering.

3yr replacement is for batteries and chargers

    • 2+1=3

I expect people are smart enough to click the link and figure it all out.

      • Yes, but there’s a big difference between repair and replacement.

        • You can still get a replacement. Under ACL for a major fault you can request a replacement.

          From Einhell in the link:

If a fault is diagnosed and your tool is inside the stated warranty period,
then your tool will be repaired or replaced at no cost. If your tool is
diagnosed faulty but your tool has fallen outside the stated warranty
period, the cost of diagnosis or repair will be covered by the user.

        • Do Bunnings ever repair Ozito tools?

          • @troyww: No, Ozito is typically 5yr replacement for non commercial use only.

That would be the major difference and thus highly relevant if you were using it professionally or or for personal use.

    • Man that’s way worse than the Bosch it’s replacing!

  • Lets see how this goes. Most tradies are probably already spent thousands on their kit. Its going to be hard to make them switch. You can only get apprentices or home owners to jump on board. This will be a long game for Einhell.

Another new brand recently was Kinchrome 18v tools… I don't think Supercheap auto is moving many…

    • Kinchrome tools branded as 'Ninja' in the first instance. Apparently they were trying to appeal exclusively to teenage edgelords from the 1980's, which I don't imagine is a very large market.

They looked, much like their current Kinchrome branded range, cheap and fragile. Whether that's the case doesn't matter, they skimped on industrial design and you just can't do that in a marketplace that is dominated by incumbents with very hard brand lock-in.

    • I think a large part of the natural market for Einhell Pro would be homeowners who want to upgrade select pieces… but they would need to extend their warranty for non trade. Without any particular research people would think the longer warranty Ozito would be better than the shorter warranty Einhell Pro.

  • Oh no… sure would be a shame if I happen to drop my $39 brushless impact and $99 hammer drill off the roof in the coming weeks

Pro drills are tinyyy but these other things won't break for me to justify it :(

  • Bunnings are going to find selling these to the trades is going to be an uphill battle that they are likely to lose. They already tried with AEG and it hasn't worked out too well:)

So just my opinions. I am not a qualified tradie, but I worked as a TA for my brother for about 10 years doing AC installs. We mainly used 3 particular electricians that were subbies, and all of us used Milwaukee and/or Makita.

Biggest part of the job was doing the best possible work. but with the best tools available to us. Good tools make the job way easier. At the time, one our electricians tried AEG,. 3 months later he was all back in on Milwaukee.

Tool snobbery on the jobsite is real, and it is for a reason. There is no way I am turning up for a job with cheap or inferior tools. Charging someone $800 to $1000 for a difficult install and not having the best tools is almost an insult in my mind.

I still have all my Makita gear to this day. But I also own some Ryobi & Ozito for lesser used tools and tools that Makita don't make just for home use.

TLDR. I think Einhell Pro may gain some traction, but no way will it overtake Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt etc.any time soon. Especially if it is priced in the pro tool realm. Which it most likely will be
    initially……

    • Tool snobbery is very much real. Always Makita vs Milwaukee and Dewalt less so. Interestingly I see Bunnings Group are merging Blackwoods with TKD. It'll be interesting to see how much that changes.

I reckon Einhell Pro will still very much be a seller for the home DIY buyers who want something a step up from Ozito.

      • Bunnings merging with Blackwoods is a very bad idea in my mind. Blackwoods has a terrible reputation to a lot of people around my age. There are so many reasons I could almost write an essay, lol.

I agree with your last point. But, if they price it too high there is little reason to buy, especially when some Dewalt gear can frequently be bought for some insanely low prices.

        • I've never stepped foot in a Blackwoods. Visited the website, wanted me to register to see pricing and I went NOPE. Back to Total and Sydney Tools for me.

On another note I was at a trade show a while ago and there was an exhibit on CAT power tools. The staff were clueless about their own products and it seems to be made by Positech. Might be alright if there's Rockwell or Worx battery compatibility. Seems the parent company of H Hardware are distributor.

          • @Clear: Blackwoods were a terrible company to deal with back in the day. No retail prices ever displayed. Pricing structured on tiers of how much you spent with them. All stock behind doors with no displays. Just an awful company.

CAT cordless was another fail. Too little, too late, and no cohesive continuation plan.

At least Einhell Pro is compatible with Ozito PXC. I know it's the same company, but it would have cost them a bomb to change battery compatibility.and pi$$ed a lot of potential buyers off.

  • What's the cost for the 36V hedge trimmer?

    Link doesn't work.

    • $369

  • Wasn't Einhell some of the early tools that turned up in Aldi?

  • Can someone with Powerpass tell me how much the 36V (2 x 18V) Brushless 400mm Chainsaw Skin is please?

    • $399 retail, $379.05 with Powerpass discount

  • I rang a couple of Bunnings in Victoria yesterday. Neither had any Einhell Pro products at all. The products are listed on their computer system, but all stores showed zero stock. So there must be a stuff up somewhere, because the promotion is supposed to run from the 1st October, but it is already the 6th October and there is no stock to sell.

    • I did post within hours of the website going live. They've only just started putting social media up and the prices. VIC and NSW stores are only just getting the batteries and chargers in stock. The word I heard from the inside is that mid-October is when they'll be around.

      • Is very odd approach by Bunnings to initiate a promo when a week into it there's essentially ZERO branded product from that range stocked in any of their stores nationwide. Feels like a cockup.

Having chatted with a few Bunnings staff, most had zero knowledge about this and scant idea about the benefits of the Einhell Pro range vs the rebranded PXC stuff.

There are some very good tools in the Einhell Pro range, that will on paper anyway compete with the top end stuff from the top tier mainstream power tool
makers - and I'd expect their pricing to be a feature.

Interesting thing that I think consumer are snoozing on though is the difference in the warranties PXC and Einhell Pro are providing in Australia. PXC has a 5yr replacement warranty on tools and 3yrs on batteries and chargers. You do not need to register to activate any of these.

Einhell Pro, which on face value is meant to be the superior sibling brand - is only giving 2yrs replacement warranty which they will extend to eligible tools by another yr, to a total of 3 - if you register it online. The brushless motors only are warranty covered for 10yrs, but again you have to register online.
        https://www.einhellpro.com.au/services/warranty/

So on some levels many might feel that the Ozito PXC has the superior warranty and i would tend to agree…..I do wonder if the Ozito PXC brand is slowly wound down as it might essentially 'canabilise' Einhell Pro's marketshare & profit margins?

    • Have patience buds, pallet probably got high rised waiting for the rep.

  • FWIW I was just meandering oin the Einhell Pro site and pricing literally went live in between page changes - so you can see what they're planning on charging now.

And they're NOT cheapies…..example, everyone fave bargain brushless garden pruner buy has been the PXC one Bunnings had on special at $49 for the skin.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/971340

Well the seemingly twin sibling Einhell Pro one is five times that price at RRP $249
    https://www.einhellpro.com.au/p/3001458-gp-ps-18-20-li-bl/

So yeah I am sceptical about this being a net beneficial development .

    • You're starting to sound like a DeWalt rep

      • :-/

Not sure how…..tell me where I'm wrong on anything stated.

        • $49 isn't RRP though is it? Now it's more than double because it's no longer on sale. Makes sense that Ozito has a cheaper 160mm chainsaw and their Professional range has a larger 200mm.

Had they both been identical it's a fair comparison.

          • @Clear: Why state something we both know and I never implied? My point is that, $49 is a price they have been sold at multiple times. They seem to have a normal RRP of $129….so even taht is half their twin's RRP.

They're literally the identical product, just branded differently so with all due respect I feel using them as i could several other models - to illustrate what I feel is a potentially dubious product realignment/change is 100% valid.
