[Free] Bargainlore Arcade: 10 Free Browser Games Built from Two Decades of OzBargain Folklore

G'day all. I've lurked price-error threads for way too long, so I built this after a year long hiatus.

Built with Muse and Claude Code

Bargainlore Arcade: 10 free browser games built from two decades of OzB history. No sign-up, no accounts, no ads, no tracking. Mobile-friendly. Plus: lorebook (60+ sourced entries), public leaderboards (optional score logging), trophies.

The games:

  • Warehouse Siege (flagship): tower defense. 20 seeded waves of lurkers, deal bots, scalpers, clippers, Karens and one influencer march on the vault.
  • Deal or Dud: vote bargain or neg on 15 deals, then the community's real verdict drops, including the legendary $1.40 McFlurry deal's 1,696 votes.
  • Price Error Hunter: 60 seconds to catch pricing glitches before they're fixed.
  • Neg Dodger: steer the cart. Catch bargains, dodge negs.
  • Mod Simulator: clear 12 dodgy deals, then see what the real mods did.
  • The OzBargain Effect: keep a retailer's server alive. Your clicks are its only hope.
  • Negger: neg the duds, spare the bargains.
  • Stack the Deal: time your drops, stack gift cards, coupons and cashback into the tallest landed-price tower.
  • Eneloop Exchange: trade the seeded ENLP index. Same daily market for everyone.
  • Sockpuppet Sniffer: mod forensics. 10 suspect accounts, three forensic charts each. Flag the sockpuppets, get scored like a classifier.

Fan-made parody tribute. Not affiliated with OzBargain.

Post your Warehouse Siege scores, or correct my lore. Both welcome.

Unfortately Claude and Muse flagged defamation so I couldn't use JV and other icons.

  • lol… holy shit… half the stuff on that page is stolen from my work on the epic threads and meme wiki that I slave over…

And no Bunnings quad-copter mentioned as a deal? That was a pricing error and a heap of people actually had it honoured by them…

    • Unless it has been updated since your post, the drone got a mention in the lorebook.
I’m happy to see ADAGCHS made it too.

      • Oh yeah…. But it was waaaaay down the page and not where I would have thought it was going to be.

  • The Lorebook — this needs to be linked from the wiki somewhere…

  • mavic zoom bunnings

I was there, Gandalf. I was there 3000 years ago!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed playing through the games and reading some Ozbargain lore.
If this was a deal I would upvote it.

  • For someone so involved on OzB I thought you'd know better that this should be posted in the AI megathread:

Helps people differentiate between real forum posts and "free" AI advertisement posts.

  • id rather post on ozb than play some game. I have no idea how to pay

  • Updated the OzBargain Effect now with five waves from things that actually happened, all tagged 📜 TRUE STORY in the wave banner, the forecast, and the server log:

    The new waves
    • Ransom email! "AnonymousHackersGroup" demands 999 EUR (2011) — the extortion email scotty blogged about. Survive it: "scotty didn't pay the 999 EUR. The site lived anyway."
    • The $5 orange phone revenge DDoS! (2014) — after the $5 Nokia Lumia 930 price error, the site got hammered and the forums blamed the furniture giant. "The furniture giant denies everything. The forums remain unconvinced."
    • Null-routed! The front-end IP just went dark (2018) — the BinaryLane kernel-update evening that ended in a null-route. Biggest spike in the game now. "Someone in the thread: 'thought OzBargain was hosted by Optus for a minute there'."
    • Cloudflare "under attack mode" — prove you're human! (2024) — the challenge loops everyone knows too well. "The challenge ate someone's long comment. Pour one out."
    • "Judging from the number of DDoS we've got, yes we are hated" — the founder's actual AMA answer, 2015.
    Notes
    • Wave list went 11 → 16; all existing parody waves untouched, balance checked (spikes/durations in line with the old set, cycle scaling intact).
    • Kept the Gerry reference oblique ("the furniture giant") rather than naming a real person — accusing a named individual of a cyberattack in a game is defamation territory.
    • Live as PA 2.72.0, QA 631/631 green.
