  • Nice. Ive been waiting for this deal to come back. Im in need of a small set.

  • These are bloody awesome!

  • Have used mine numerous times now and it is really good quality.

    • Bahco is a Snap-On sibsidiary, so not surprising.

      • IMO it I was Snapon that destroyed Bahco's quality. Bahco tools were way higher quality before Snapon bought them. I think the idea is they can't be competing against Snapon Products.

        • Yeah, they were common to find in mining sites and especially in rigging. Snap-On never quite made that cut.
Still good, but when you use a ratchet as a twist tool for a steel cable and expect it to live, it's just another level, lol.

  • Same its an awesome little set

  • Same price as from same source 2 years ago… plastic case now, metal 2 tone case back then, so better then… but good price considering inflation creep.

    • Gah very sad :( Happens with absolutely everything. That's how the Law of Entropy goes, though :/

      • Nothing sad about a good deal still being a good deal…. but the law of entropy?
Corrr blimey! Did you switch lecture rooms halfway through … going from the physics stream to economics? :)

        • Ah, so just contradict and mock. Great.

          • @Jacuzzi: I hear your pain but you've been here 10 years friend. Set appropriate expectations and you'll never be disappointed

      • Considering inflation, this is arguably a better deal. A case is just a case—the tool is still the same.

        • I feel like Sydney Tools' lawyers are here.

        • Without a decent case, these things are very easy to lose. I think it’s about the only reason I’ve ever had to replace socket sets or Allen keys.

    • I got you

      • I'm seeing $340.68!!! But there is free delivery, so there's that… ahem

        • Free delivery stood out as a good deal to me too. I bought a few hundred to keep by the door as a tip for food delivery drivers

  • Just checked my order history at Sydney Tools, and I bought one last time. Wonder where I put it…

    • you should have taken the 10mm socket out first and put that somewhere else (lost that separately)

  • All black cases are usually promotional ones, regular cases are still two colour.

  • Thanks! Picked up one at Stafford , Qld, plenty of stock available

    • I would say not. Daytona is a home brand of Sydney Tools, as is Xtorque. If Daytona is as bad as the Xtorque bits I once tried, I would suggest running away:)

      • my experience with daytona sockets has been quiet good

        • Emergency fixes ?

          • @life is suffering: nope, workshop type time consuming works. not sure about specific product you linked as I purchase sockets ad-hoc.

      • Thanks yeah I understand quality always come into consideration at the worst time lol true test

    • These are not remotely the same quality. Even the made-in-China Bahco has amazing tolerances and precision on their sockets. Daytona is close to shit tier.

      I bought a daytona 1/4 & 3/8 set before, and never again.

When it comes to Bahco sockets, think Kincrome Lok-On, but better. Nothing in the price range can compete with Bahco AFAIK. Koken sockets have slightly better consistency but are much more expensive. That's why Snapon bought Bahco - to remove a competitor. But even after massively reducing their quality, China Bahco sockets still seem to be better than any made-in-Taiwan sockets I have including Kincrome, Tekton, Gearwrench etc.

  • The bit holder doesn't seem to hold the bits in very well, they tend to keep falling out while I'm using them.

    • Are you pushing bits all the way in?
I have this set and have the opposite problem, I have to use pliers to pull bits out.

  • this is really good quality

  • Good kit, better to use than the Bosch kit that comes up from time to time

  • I was thinking "awesome, no imperial stuff". Then it has two PH bits. I mean that is still pretty good and not a biggy, it just amazes me why industry keeps pumping out the same wrong stuff for the market. Well, any market really, unless you're in Nth America

    • Not everything uses metric fasteners

      • Almost everything does. 99% of OzBargainers won't ever touch anything else.

But we're taking about Phillips bits here - they aren't metric or imperial sizes, they're just screw-head fittings 🤷

    • The two PH bits are screwdrivers to fit Phillips head screws - they have nothing to do with imperial or metric sizing 🤷

  • There are other nano/pico sets out there that include a 14mm, this sets worthless without it IMO :)

    • What are you using a 14mm on? Genuine question, I can't recall ever using 14mm socket but have used spanner.

      • Sure.. Cars, motorcycles, bicycles, etc.

I keep a Sidchrome nano socket set in each of my cars, they do 5.5 - 14mm.

  • "99% of OzBargainers won't ever touch anything else." And the other 54%…

Guess I'm in the other group who CONSTANTLY find themselves using both metric and imperial tool sizes. There's plenty of stuff around from earlier Australian equipment or coming in from the US. Even if metric items are finally in the majority, I could never manage without my full sets of imperial spanners and sockets.

And PH bits are neither of course, they are an (incredibly common) manufacturer standard that's so widely used it's difficult to understand the objection to including a couple.

  • Got one of these under the previous deals. Whilst cheap so can't really complain, I was disappointed by quality due to expectations set from comments on here. Sure, it's good for little things and I keep it with my motorbike.

Happier with the small kit from Aldi which offers more and feels higher quality.

    • I'm a bacho shill. I love their good stuff. But these cheap sets are complete trash.

I need light weight tools for travel and have small 2 bahco sets (the ratchet bit driver set and this one) both are just cheap trash that don't stand up to use on site.

Maybe their ratchets are particularly susceptible to sand and dirt which is common for my work and it's fine in a clean workshop but I didn't buy a mini set to use at home.

Both ratchets are dead and the bit driver extender is jammed . I've substituted parts from my 15 year old teng tool mini set and it's still going strong. I guess the case and 10mm socket was worth what I paid for it….
