Bose QuietComfort SC Noise Cancelling Headphones $297.46 Delivered / C&C / in-Store @ Myer

270

These are the new Bose Quietcomforts just with a soft case. I'm not sure if Myer have discounted these incorrectly thinking they are the SE version. These retail $499 on the Bose website.

Still wayyy to expensive for what it is, once its $200 we can talk

    • No chance for that. You would only be getting the Sennheiser 450bt at that price.

Rtings rate these pretty well: https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/bose/quietcomfort-…

      • On comparison the older QC45s (and the SEs) win against these;
        https://www.soundguys.com/bose-quietcomfort-headphones-vs-bo…

      • I have the Sennheiser 450BT, bought about 2.5yrs ago for $190. They are great except very uncomfortable wearing any longer than 30mins.

Just got the Anker Q45 from this deal for $114. These are newer than the Sennheiser so battery specs are better. Most importantly they are comfortable on long wears.

These have never been $200. SC is the soft case version of the current QuietComfort. The one you talking about is SE which is the soft case version of the previous version which is Quietcomfort 45

      • Its just a minor refresh of the Bose QC45s, I picked up the Quietcomforts in the last Amazon deal and returned them within 24 hours, its a very very slightly different version of the QC45/SEs - the SEs ATL is $200 this is the "Special" hard case version of the Quietcomforts that align with the previous generation SEs.

I would be only looking at the Quietcomfort Ultras or the SEs once they hit $200 again. And its not like I dont like Bose, I've been with them since the QC3 all the way to the Ultras, and have gone through the A10 to the current A30s.

        • I suspect that Quietcomfort SE units are the QC 45s that did not pass factory’s quality check.

      • The product naming team are at fault here.

Quietcomfort 45 and quietcomfort SE are not the same as:
        Quietcomfort and Quietcomfort SC (2023)

I never said they were the same product but they fall into the same categories.

Quietcomfort = Hard case of the "new" Bose Quietcomfort = Same category of the QC45 (HC)
Quietcomfort SC = Soft case version of the "new" Bose Quietcomfort = Same category of the SE (SC)

But even then, the new "Quietcomfort" headphones as a whole are ever so slightly different in comparison to the QC45s/QCSE - I tried them both side by side and you really cant tell the difference, its better to pick up a SE pair thats $200 or wait for this to drop further. Its just an old design thats been updated since the QC35s to an extent. For the extra $100 you dont get that much and in my opinion its best to wait out for a sale.

$250 maybe, $200 you will have to wait a few years.

  • Can someone smarter than me tell me what the Shopbackabilty is on these please? They're listed under Travel & Tech - Audio - Headphones - Wireless Headphones.

  • How’s the microphone on this version?
It’s the main reason I won’t go for the QC45.

Rtings rate the call quality pretty well

      • Thanks.
Although they are not too critical of the Phone Quality on the QC45s when the mic is famously bad.

        • Got mine yesterday and the microphone outside is worse than my wife's qc35s.
She couldn't hear me over the sound of all the ambient noise.

          • @klonky: Really appreciate the feedback. Damn, that’s such a shame! Hopefully you’re not using it much for calls.

            • @Frukoz: It's one of the main reasons I got them so I'll be taking them back unfortunately.

              • @klonky: Hmmm - like me then. Right now I'm thinking another pair of QC35s or maybe waiting for a good deal on the XM5s, which are supposed to have the best mic. Need to try them on for comfort though first.

  • I have a big head (have had to return the Sony xm3 and xm4 headphones over the last few years because the band irritates the top of my head). Can anyone with a big head speak to the comfort of these over a few hours of wearing? Thanks.

    • Well, don't get a big head about it.

i dont think you deserved downvoting so i did my bit to upvote your comment :D

It's ok mate. Thanks for trying. Simply going to cry myself to sleep tonight over fake/absolutely meaningless internet points. 😂🤣😂🤣

  • These are the QC45 refresh if I'm not mistaken… no real noteworthy upgrades, they are still rocking bluetooth 5.1.

  • i have the QC45 what is the difference between this and the qc45?

    • +1

Basically nothing, just keep the QC45s - refurbish the ear cups when required

    • The manufacture date…

  • +2

Shopback 9% on electronics including portable audio, plus 15%/$20 Westpac/StGeorge bonus if you can get it, takes the price to about $250 if my guestimate is right.

  • Comfort - yes
    Quiet - yes
Sound worse than some $20 headphones - yes

  • another model? I thought it was a title mistake.

so they are doing the so many models customer confusion tactic. and Bose wins 🙅‍♀️

also I know lots of comments say this or that is QC45 without a case or QC is same as QC45 etc. but is it though?? is it confirmed with teardowns and ANC tests?

  • Ordered on Thursday night and arriving today in Melbourne. When did Aus Post get so efficient?

  • Thanks OP, got em. Bargain. Found this helpful from the Bose website's FAQ:

Bose QuietComfort Headphones are the successors to QuietComfort 45 Headphones. QuietComfort SC Headphones are the same as QuietComfort Headphones but feature a soft carry case instead of a hard carry case, and are only available in Black.
