    I'M GONNA GET FAT :'(

    • +4

      I'm already fat… so I don't need to worry :) LOL

      • Considering 68% of the population is overweight and 23% obese, the odds aren't exactly in your favor.

  • +1

wtf… after I stocked up already!damn and cheaper too

  • Only time I will convert from monarch/ Aldi, while temporarily. (-¢20 & -4.2%)

Anybody know any good deals going on chest freezers ?

    • I'm actually looking for a good deal on chest freezers at the moment, if I do get one next week this will be the first thing in it.

  • +1

Damn. I bought 4 of these at Woolworths today for $5 thinking I was getting myself a good deal :-(

Looks like I have 3 days to finish them before I re-stock :-)

  • +1

Yummy, yummy, yummy, Connoisseur in my tummy…

Now I know what's gonna kill me lol.

I already smashed that Mars bar ice cream deal afew days ago. Oh well, gotta make space now for 6 tubs

Ice cream don't expire if u put them in the freezer, no?

  • true ozbargainer would go to the self serve and scan one, click mixed payment and pay $4.97 by card thus saving 2 cents per icecream ;)

    REPEAT.. multiple times

    • That would be a Faux Ozbargainer.

A real one would use the Orange Card and get back ~25c.

  • Aah, not again…

  • +1

I remember when coles had those free biscuit/lollies promo.
I got yelled at for going in multiple times a day!

"You know you can use this only once right?"
    "Oh really? I didn't know…"
"Yes, I've already seen you here 3 times today"

Had to get my parents/sister to go in after that…

  • +3

Are these really that good and better than other ice creams like bulla? it's only 1L…bulla is 2L for the same price.

    • +2

The cookies n cream is pretty awesome.

    • I would say its between streets "blue ribbon" (always on sale for $5 for 2litre) and those 700ml-1litre premium gelato tubs ($7-8) in quality.

    • +1

it doesn't get better than premium indulge cookies cream $4.69ime, with runners up coles' rum $5.00 and connoisseur macadamia $9.75-$4.49. I would dismiss much of the rest Tbh, perhaps with the faint exception of 2.5o/L-Blue ribbon — just from a subjective taste aspect.

Any cheap freezers - I am going to need one, preferrably by Wednesday.

  • Already through 3/5 tubs on my own from woolies this week, I think I have a problem.

  • +1

I had some delivered from woollies with free delivery etc they arrived half melted rang the 1800 number and complained - got a refund. They did offer to re-deliver them.

  • coles have more flavours right? There's this strawberry one which I did not see safeway sell!!

  • I really like Cadbury's chocolate chip but now I am Connoisseur curious. Just might have to try the Cookies and Cream. Hope that I don't get too addicted.

  • Just gave you the 400th upvote

  • Damn it, already devoured cookies & cream and honey macadamia in the last week! :O
Might have to stock up again!

  • +1

where did you get the future catalogue from? is there any web link?

  • What are the flavors they have?

    I only know the following:

    Cookies and cream
    Strawberry
    Salted Caramel macadamia
    classic vanilla

    whats going on

  • Considering how berserk this forum has gone with last weeks discount, I'll give another go at this.

I've tried most of these expensive ice cream, rarely found them worth it. Always stuck with Sara Lees ultra choc

  • This ice-cream must be the bomb for 400+ +'s

  • BOUGHT! Summer strawberry and chocolate honey nougat! Only 4 left at 8am!

    • What are those 2 flavours like, I havent tried them before but the strawberry sounds good.

      • Never try before as hardly see them on shelf even in full price! (well that's what i can remember)

Had classic vanilla and cookies n cream all the time!

  • i remember their classic vanilla, is the best vanilla of all time. But i am trying others today!

    • +2

Yeah vanilla was my favourite, but i havent had it in a while and i notice its changed. You dont see the vanilla beans in the ice cream anymore and also the flavour doesnt seem as strong as it once was, its a bit less creamy and a bit more watery. Dont get me wrong still really really good vanilla but not as good as it once was.

  • Hmm now is 9.23am and the price and the number of positives are the same! 449cents = $4.49

  • Picked up 2x cafe grande, cookies and cream and honey macadamia. Had heaps of stock when I went in at just past 7am.

  • Heaps of stock left at the Coles at Midland Gate, WA..

  • Got some from Blacktown Westpoint Coles. Still had 5-20 tubs per flavour left @~2:45pm.

Cookies & Cream and Honey Macadamia (best IMHO)…'I can not contain'…'flavour overwhelming'…drools….

  • Coles in Hervey bay had all flavours this afternoon although a lot of them were very soft.

  • soon after the last woolworths catalogue was released, i heard the coles pricing guys mention they were going to beat them with this deal - just like with the huggies they're going to match/beat them on certain specials…

    anyway, $4.49 still doesn't beat free or $4 via $10 off $50 :)

  • grabbed some today….first time trying this brand :)

  • " Only 4 left at 8am!" > >
What I might do is have ten consigned to a raincheck, thus permitting Coles to store these in their rack space. Other stores deferred purchase are no comparison Afaik.. Crtnly wont melt

    • and coles' rainchecks are valid for 12mths :)

    • So I shall have to aim for either December or better (2014)November.

  • Got some. My raincheck is only valid one month.

dunno what you guys are smoking, but Connoisseur cookies & cream is pretty meh to me…i mean, it's a perfectly serviceable icecream, but i was expecting more from how much everyone seems to be going on about it…(did i miss an ozbargain in-joke? if so, you got me!) :P

each to their own though…there's plenty left at Swan st Coles in Richmond (VIC), if you're chasing it.

but, i did enjoy the vanilla Connoisseur last time i had it (years and years ago), so i'll give another flavour of Connoisseur a shot! (maybe cafe grande or salted caramel macadamia…i hope they're better!)

Maggie Beer's burnt fig, honeycomb & caramel: now that's icecream!

    • ok, i tried the caramel & macadamia. i liked it better than the cookies and cream…but it still just didn't really do it for me.

i DID eat the whole tub as i was walking home from the shops, with a spoon stolen from a takeaway shop, aha. so it's not bad icecream…it just doesn't compare to Maggie Beer, in my opinion. i'd take 500ml of that burnt fig over 2L of Connoisseur any day of the week!

      • yea maggie beer's icecream is amazing, I only had it once but it remains strong in my memory…

        pity it is so expensive.

        • that's probably a good thing for my health! :)

i've eaten 1.5L of connoisseur in the last 2 days (and may still pick up one more flavour to try while it's cheap!), so imagine if maggie beer was that cheap! aha.

so what next: cafe grande or chocolate? :)

        • both of those are my favourites. But maybe cafe grande. Sadly I couldn't get a single ice cream, they were all sold out when I went to coles :(

        • Where you mate? My two local coles (Richmond) still have plenty.

If you work around the city, I can grab some for ya.

      • I hear great things about the burned fig, but you're crazy about the cookies and cream. Maggie Beer's cookie's and cream isn't as nice as Connoisseur's cookies and cream by a mile. MB is less creamy in texture and more watery in taste. The malt biscuits only exacerbate this.

        • +1

i haven't tried Maggie Beer's cookies and cream, so i can't comment between the two (was just comparing to gelati cookies and cream i've had, and to ice cream more generally).

        • +1

100% Good gelati is the best!

      • +1

I dont get it, you ate the entire tub as you walked home from the shops….but It didnt do it for you? HUH? I would have thought if you ate the entire tub right there and then then it definitely did it for you.

        • aha nah, not really…i can just eat a lot of icecream! :)

as i said, i didn't DISLIKE it…it was decent enough that i did keep eating it. but that just means it was ok/inoffensive enough. like a block of cadbury chocolate or an average takeaway pizza: i will polish off the whole lot for sure…but that doesn't mean i particularly loved it, or that i would ever specifically seek it out again.

          sorry!

  • Bought a Caramel Honey Macadamia today…was nice but too sickly sweet…think i will try the Vanilla next shop.

    • Similar experience with Cookie n Cream…

  • Don't mean to be a bummer but re: the posts saying the vanilla tasted different, I just have four words: Google Beaver Anal Gland

    0.0

    • the best way to really test or compare ice creams is how the vanilla is made. If it doesnt really make any difference then might as well stick with no frills.

  • Bought them for the first time ever - 4 tubs!

Vanilla is really nice, though tastes like Coles' $2.xy tub but with much finer texture and less sweet. Would recommend, along with cookies+cream.

Belgian choc is one of the best chocolate flavoured ice creams out there but for some reason they don't really taste like chocolate. I guess I was expecting more of a dark chocolate/bitter flavour. Strawberry - doesn't really taste like real strawberries but again one of the best out there. I guess this is rather subjective at the end of the day.

I think there's still a mango and a chocolate flavour left to try :)

  • Anyone know of any places that are out of stock? thinking of rainchecking :)

  • -1

    $9 RRP? Robbery.
$4.49 is still a bit expensive. Who cares, bought one today.

  • +1

Getting a raincheck for these was a lot harder than it should've been. The first guy I asked went around and looked inside literally every fridge, then he got the dairy manager, he looked out back and then called some guy on his phone. Only after all that failed did the guy give me a raincheck.

  • They still have about 40-50 punnets @ thompsons corner at 4.50
