GTA San Andreas is also kindle edition so most of us will just be buying it for the coins.

You will need to be on the website not the appstore to buy the kindle only versions on/for a non kindle owner.

To buy some of these you need to add a US address as your main address (Use a state with no sale tax - Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon or you will pay tax on your purchase) and set your device region to US if it is currently set to AU (mine have always been US as has my acct as i mainly use it to buy games). If you already bought them on the AU store you can go into your list of apps and delete them. See the comments for more detailed explanations :)

      On the right hand side where the buying button is there should be some text saying "Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance". Mouse over, wait a couple of seconds for the website to download the info, then click the link and a little pop up appears. I'm guessing the coins would be the Amazon Appstore balance.

      Hurray. I now have coins, not sure from where though as I have 350 coins but also bought 3 of the apps. Coins shown on non-free app. Didn't show before, only the 1-click buy button. The Amazon Appstore credit still shows $0 for me. That's just confusing. If each coin is worth 1c, why not just put total into the Appstore balance, i mean you can only use it for the appstore purchases.
      
      update: finished buying the other 6, and they all update to the coin total within a minute. Maybe changing the address to US enabled coin usage? not sure.

problem is if u purchase stuff on amazon app store using AU account, the apps would be
invalid if u login with USA account..

So AU apps no longer work, if login with USA account

so apps like tune in radio pro (bought with AU ozbargain freebie) no longer works

also it is not easy to logout of amazon app store on android
wish they made a logout option

For everybody who already bought the apps on AU store:
1. Delete the AU apps by:
- go to Your account on the top right of page -> Manage your content and devices
- pick an App and pick Actions -> Manage your Apps
- delete apps that you want
2. Change Country to US:
- go to Your account on the top right of page -> Manage your content and devices
- Select Country settings on the left and pick US
3. Repurchase the apps
4. Open the Thief link
5. On the right side you will see your coins. It may take few minutes for them to appear so you may need to refresh the page.
6. Purchase Thief
7. ???
8. Profit

And you cannot delete and repurchase apps multiple times to gain coins multiple times.

Yes I'm on the US/.COM, as I never converted/updated to AU or changed ANY details,too lazy lol.

  Ironically I bought the GTA first, then figured out if i had waited til after 7 i would have been able to get it free (thats why it an edit - realised right after posting lol). Still, got over 30 bucks in coiins lol.
  
  To buy GTA san andreas you need to set up a one click address in the US, I recommend you do so in one of the states that does not charge sales tax (o you will too), I Use a cheap hotel in Oregon that looked like they wouldn't tell who was staying lol.
  You need it to buy PC games from them too

NVM resolved with a chat with Amazon.

It should be noted though, that the app is not compatible with anything other than kindle fire and another kindle device. So you cannot play GTA:SA on your phone (it will not even appear in your app list).
