Are you really this petulant, or are you merely pretending?

      • +3

        TIL a new word.

        Petulant
        adjective
(of a person or their manner) childishly sulky or bad-tempered.

      • Member since 2013, but doesn't know the modus operandi of JV, first of his name?

    • +7

I must be among the few who found it funny. :-)

      • +21

Some people can only think one-way

      • there's 4 +votes, add JV, that makes 5 of us.

  • +3

Sorry if this is a dumb question but if I join Club Jetstar, can I get multiple tickets at the reduced price? Or is just one ticker per member? I'm thinking of taking my family to Honolulu next year…

    • +7

Not a dumb question - was looking for info on that too ;)

EDIT - Found this You can also add family and friends to your booking - just remember as a Club Jetstar member you must be travelling with them.

      • Good find! Thanks :)

      • +1

up to four others on the same booking

        • +1

and up to how many bookings?

          • @muncan: as many as you want for a year.

also includes reduced additional baggage rates

    • Branch out wider than Honolulu though.

      • What do you mean?

        • +1

Think he means don't just stay in Honolulu on Oahu.

I went for 10 days in 2017 and mixed my time between Honolulu and the North Shore.

If you only stayed on Oahu, I think a good split would be Honolulu/Waikiki area, North Shore and Kailua.

          • +1

@fivespice: Ah ok gotcha. I owe my dad a trip to Pearl Harbour (long story) so that's the main reason for the trip, but would definitely explore other areas a bit further afield. Thanks for the tips fivespice :)

            • +1

@MrUniqueName: I spent a couple of weeks in Hawaii a few years back, about half on Oahu and half on Maui. I regret spending any more than a day or two in Honolulu and definitely think an inter-island flight is the way to go really soon after you arrive, particularly to Maui. When I go back I plan to head to Maui (or another island that isn't Oahu), rent a car and just explore. I wasn't keen on Waikiki beach at all and while Pearl Harbour was okay, I'm not sure it was worth the drive (I'm sure it'd be a very different story if your dad has a connection to the place though).

Having said that, Maui was incredible and we had an awesome experience on Jetstar

              • +5

@Pulseidon: "while Pearl Harbour was okay, I'm not sure it was worth the drive (I'm sure it'd be a very different story if your dad has a connection to the the place though"

We went to Hawaii (and then LA) when I was about 8 years old. Visiting Pearl Harbour was the #1 thing on my dad's bucket list for the trip. When we got there, I desperately needed to go to the loo and so my dad took me but we ended up missing the ferry by literally 5 seconds (the rest of my family made it on). As a result, my dad missed out!

So I've spent the last 30 years planning on taking him back to make up for my guilt :)

              • @Pulseidon: I've been to Hawaii 4 times and have only made it off Oahu to go to Big Island. Need to hitup Maui next time. My sister went and said it was paradise.

Waikiki is like the Gold Coast so if you're into that kind of thing then its all good. I loved all the bars in Ala Moana probably because I'm a massive reggae fan and most of the bands play island style reggae.

Havent been to Pearl harbour, dont see the point but i have spent some time up on the North shore and that place is great. so laid back and locals were cool.

                • @astrotrain: Many people will say Waikiki is too 'touristy' but I very much enjoyed it there too. Lots of good poke and food in general, a lot of great coffee, fun to walk around and see the sights, good for a light casual swim and even good for surfing (for me anyway, it was my first time).

The North Shore was fantastic too, stayed at Turtle Bay and enjoyed driving around that part of the island; especially swimming at Waimea Falls.

I guess my point is, Hawaii is very expensive and moving around the islands may be very costly for some so even if you only stayed in Oahu; most would have a great time.

                  • @fivespice:

                    Lots of good poke

                    (☞゚ヮ゚)☞

                  • @fivespice: Expensive yes with our declining dollar, but oz bargainers can afford it with all the saving they have made, they are multi millionaires, and they still come…..

  • I'm confused. are these available now for the club jetstar? or are they available tomorrow?

    • +1

Now club Jetstar - Tomorrow General Public

Just booked Gold Coast to Christchurch for $232 return checkin included. It seems you have to manually click the links on the sale page for it to work correctly.

is this month price list a new feature?

    I absolutely love it,

this is what ive been waiting to for years

    makes planning so much easier

  • anyone had any luck?
Tried many dates with a membership no luck

    • Yeah, not finding any $0 return flights from Sydney to Auckland in the advertised dates at all…

EDIT: Once you select a flight and go to the flight time list per it'll actually give you the $0 returns!

      • i went all the way through booking no $0 fares for June-Aug

        • That’s because there are no sale fares within those dates to NZ. Read the terms folks. Scattered travel periods across each route.

    • +16

      anyone had any luck?
      Tried many dates

      This is OzBargain, not Tinder…

  • Oh snap these always get me.

  • $24.50 each way AVV-SYD

  • I've checked all of Syd -> Hobart for entire 2019 no luck, I've tried all of Syd -> Bali 2019 no luck.

I am a member, and logged in =/

    Strange

    • You need to select a departure date then it will show which return dates are free (depends if there are free return seats left).
I just booked for 4 people to Bali for June 3. Got free return.

      • I understand but this is what I'm doing. So I don't get why I can't see $0 for return =/

        • Wow when you click the initial link from OP it shows all the deals available.

But when you go to the Jetstar Club Membership link and you click deals, it only shows 1/10th of those available.

I.e. More than half of the dates in OP's original link are not true, according to their Membership page. Hence why I can see people above booking for Bali prior to July when that deal is also in the membership area, but I can't see anything for Hobart albeit the link.

          Really annoying.

          • @SpotTheOzzie: I just tried by clicking on OP link. Selected Hobart then tentative dates. Then asked me to login to get club rewards.
            I found Sydney - Hobart 4/05/19 return 10/05/19
Free return $92 before taxes etc

          • @SpotTheOzzie: Heaps up guys! You need to actually click on the return date regardless if it is not showing $0.

For whatever reason the return dates all show a monetary figure, until you click on them does it show a time slot of $0!

            :D

  • Getting an error "An unknown error has occurred." when I go to make payment. 5 times already, both on chrome & IE. My trip is already jinxed. Anyone else experiencing this error while processing payment? Credit card has not been debited so far & no email confirmations either. Sadly, Jetstar Call centre was of no help.

    • +1

      Check manage your booking?
It will say if payment is pending or not.

Got this error too, kept trying till they blocked me for 30 mins from trying to use credit card?. Ended up doing poli payment

  • Plus 100 more dollars for a non inhuman trip, by having to choose a seat, buy a meal and other beverages, pay for accessing entertainment and get enough luggages.

After three years I am still banned from Jetstar's Facebook page …. after LIKING every negative post on their feed, and there are many negative posts.

    • Gezz what did u initially do?

      • +4

There's always two sides to the story but my side would be

        1. I become a serial complainer. My complaints were valid - so valid that they offered me a few vouchers for future flights - I told them to put those vouchers in places were the sun does not shine because I would never go near a Jetstar flight in my life again.

        2. I LIKED and supported every negative post on their Facebook page. There are lots there so go read them all - unless they have started to filter negative posts.

        3. I started calling them names like the are Shi7star, OneStar, DeathStar, Orange Cancer and I guess they didn't like it. But I stand by it, they are a cancer of an airline in my experience.

To cut it short, my gripe is … if the passenger screws up, Jetstar says too bad, too sad eg. my hand carry was overweight. Ok that's cool, my fault.

When Jetstar screws up and causes a flight to be cancelled and then I bet put on a flight the next day, they said too bad, too sad BUT it's OK because it is within their terms and conditions e.g my flight to Honolulu a few years back was cancelled, I was put onto a flight the next day. That is unacceptable as I had prepaid car and hotel bookings. Going a day later means I lose a days worth. Sooo, how about a flight half a day earlier…. well that sucks because I now need to take an extra day (unplanned) off work so I don't lose my bookings. Either way I lose but Jetstar tells me to suck it up….

        • Travel Insurance.

          • @Xizor: Will it cover a day of booked, but unused car, accommodation and loss of enjoyment without additional fees or excess?

          • +2

            @Xizor: Travel insurance???

Why should I or the passenger have to make a claim against their insurer for 'events' when Jetstar screw up? What is worse is that Jetstar will tell you that they are allowed to screw up, and they aren't going to help you out because their T&Cs says so.

Anyway I have had ongoing multi-trip annual travel insurance for the last ten years, and to make me claim a few hundred bucks - against my insurer - because Jetstar stuffs up, is poor form.

No wonder I will continue to bag out that cancerous piece of an airline.

          • +1

@Xizor: travel insurance does not cover you if they cancel your flight/change your flight time/have unspecified “mechanical issues”… Jetstar cancelled my flight and I coudn’t get on one until the next day and lost a night of accommodation, but the travel insurance’s T&Cs only cover you for things like a volcanic eruption (if you’d booked before the issue was known).

        • +1

I started calling them names like the are Shi7star, OneStar, DeathStar, Orange Cancer and I guess they didn't like it.

That's the funniest I've read today!!!

    • +1

So what stopping you in creating new Facebook account and continuing your purpose on this earth?

      • +1

Good idea but no, on Facebook I used my real name and profile because my reviews and comments were based on my actual experiences with the airline. I am not going to waste my time if I can't be open about it - and they can easily link up my profile with my past travels with the airline to see my comments and experiences with them are real.

Importantly, I have mostly moved on but will continue to advocate how crap that airline really is every now and again.

  • will more seats be added for the public sale - and when would that go live?
    Can't see anywhere

  • If member sale ends 11:59pm eastern, does that mean public sale starts 12am eastern?

I’m in Perth so public sale would start 9pm tonight for me?

    • Sounds about right

    • You sound keen; can I travel with you?

  • Booked Melbourne to Bali $291 return with 20kg luggage.
There weren’t a lot of direct flights home and some sold out as I tried to book so I’d be surprised if there will be many direct flights once it goes public.
My advice, get a Jetstar membership and grab the direct flights.

    • -2

Can you share your JetStar membership details? My teacher always said sharing is caring.

      • +1

Unless you also have the same name as Joey4, you're out of luck even if they did share it, as the member must be on the ticket

        • -2

Do you do that often? Burst someone else's bubbles?

      • Our family of 4 saved $67 on baggage just by having the $49 membership. Paid for itself and we got prerelease tickets. Worth having.

        • Yeah, the flight tickets were $20 cheaper compared to standard prices for me. If you are travelling with 2 or more, then it is a no brainer to get the membership.

  • anyone getting an error now when they try to search for any trips? ANYWHERE!

    • Yeah booking site is down

      • Its back. Just booked Sunshine Coast to Sydney return for $99 including checkin bags

  • It isn't showing any prices for me?

  • I've not been able to get free return.

I've followed their instructions and chose a date within their range, but the return flight is still being charged.

    • u need to click on ur preferred 'return flight date' and then click on 'select flight time' which will bring up the various $0 options!

  • +1

Thanks for the post Op…booked Honolulu flights in sept with $0 return flight, return flights from Melbourne +extra legroom+food - jetstar club discount = $880 for 2 people …very happy!

    • Why don't you just steal the TARDIS like you normally do?

    • Can't find any $0 flights for Honolulu. Looks like the sale's exhausted? ; (

  • What a colossal waste of time. Got through to the payment page and got 'an unknown error has occurred' after hitting the 'pay now' button. Tried a different browser, different credit card, no luck. Jumped on live chat and was told "oh that's because the fares are now sold out, can't honour that price". Even though I pointed out that clearly this wouldn't be an 'unknown error' and that the $0.00 return price shows when I do a new search. Pretty much said bad luck, nothing you can do. Pricks.

    • That's pretty lame. They should have a real time monitor on which flights are sold out so it doesn't allow you to book a flight that's sold out.

Planning a holiday takes a lot of preparation and checking with other passengers. It sucks finding a date everyone can agree on only for it to be sold out.
