My Opolar air duster from a previous ozb deal has been on the fritz for a long while only working for 2 seconds when fully charged, but works fine if left plugged in. I've been meaning to diagnose it for a while but there's not much information on the internet and when searching for a replacement I found this one that is not only an air duster but a vacuum also. For $30 I think it's potentially a really good deal, apart from the included USB to 9v barrel jack charger (I would have much rather USBC or micro USB so can use any cable and not a hard to replace charger if something goes wrong with it).

These things are really good for cleaning dust out of electronics and the vacuum might make it useful for around the house too.

  • From one of the recent AU Amazon reviews. Canned air is what I would be looking to use it as a replacement for for PC, car, etc.

It works okay as a mini vacuum cleaner for keyboards. The blowing power is very weak, not even remotely as strong as a canned air duster.

  • FYI you are NOT buying from the brand on this listing, rather a reseller who might be buying it from Alibaba/Aliexpress. People in Aus/China can hijack listings when the US seller isn't selling in Australia.

    • Dropshipping?

Similar but not really, this is an established brand in the US "Meudeen" - people from China/Australia will find the same spec item and put it under that listing.
Different to dropshipping because they have to buy the stock upfront and it's stored at an Amazon warehouse.

        • So are you suggesting that we can expect it won't be the same or equivalent product? Or just beware that we aren't dealing with the same brand/seller that has been selling in the US?

          • @kapone: It's a risk, it's pretty much counterfitting, could be good quality could be bad, that's the risk you run from buying from these sellers. In this thread a person responded to one of my comments saying it was an offbrand.

It’s still shipped by Amazon, and therefore not drop shipped from overseas.

    • The listing from 'Continental Australia' is 'Fulfilled by Amazon'.

      • Yep so Continental Australia is just a random brand - you can see another under the name selling "FFGYT" - this could be a kid in their parents basement for all we know.
Fulfilled by Amazon means that its in stock at an amazon warehouse, rather than a vendor sending it themself. It's called FBA -

The 'FFGYT' listing isn't fulfilled by Amazon.

Fulfilled by Amazon means that its in stock at an amazon warehouse

And also ships from an Australian Warehouse.

At the end of the days, all these products are just rebranded Chinese products with their own logo/brand slapped on them.

          • @RichardL: Yep so that is a Fulfilled by Merchant, same theory applies. It is some kid who has bought the same product from Alibaba and is selling it without the actual brand.
The key thing to be aware of is that some brands in the US use a trusted supplier/might have adjusted the internal specs, thus the high reviews. The product you buy from another seller/vendor might be different in terms of specs than what the listing promises.

@RevolverUpstairs: I'm not sure what you are trying to point out here.

'Meudeen' isn't exactly a household brand. Just another company slapping their logo/brand on OEM products from China.

Unless there is an actual issue with this particular batch of the product, then who cares who the seller is and where they have sourced the stock from ?

    • Don't know why I'm getting downvoted… I'm trying to help lol. I actually sell on Amazon so I understand how this works

      • I don't think we understand what you're trying to say 😁

Can you spell out the problem ?

      • It was shipped by Amazon Australia.

Downvoting a deal because it's being sold by a seller that isn't the brand is not a valid reason to neg a deal.

My Opolar is more like Bipolar, just like yours, despite being replaced under warranty. Don't want to buy more junk.

  • I sus My opolar killed my gpu.

  • I bought the one Techmoan recommended a while back for $99 and it's great. Much more powerful than a can of air. The link I used 404s now but it's the same one as this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/516866

  • I bought something very similar on Temu for $9.24
