Same post as last month just a different code.

    • +6

must be "10 dollar season" every month

    • +64

It was never 100$. .. what bs

      • +57

People only upvote this as a joke but it's getting very tiring.

          • +30

@poppingtags: Because down voting is doing my part for the community, otherwise it would be overrun with rubbish and genuine deals would be impossible to find.

              • +7

@poppingtags: Meme non-deals drop genuine deals down on the front page. Voting down deals is a feature of this website as it allows for a degree of quality control in what deals are given prominence on the front page.

Further, the "endless amount of whinging" is actually an OzBargain requirement. You can't down vote something without providing an explanation, which isn't the case with upvoting. If both down and upvotes required an explanation, odds on the 'deal' would receive significantly fewer upvotes, given that only around 5 people who have upvoted have actually bothered to leave a comment, and even there mostly just to criticise people who have left down votes.

                • -6

@AngoraFish: If you think this is a non-deal, all you have to hit the hide button once and never see it again - but that seems like more work that negging the deal and then complaining in the comments. Not every deal has to be for you.

I've used his services before and will use them again - so these deals are genuinely helpful.

                  • +5

@poppingtags: There have been 25 deals posted since this one, most of which have received nowhere near the prominence of this, and every one of which deserves a chance to be on the front page. If you're worried about people not seeing deals then you should be worried about the ones that missed out because they were displaced by a joke meme.

You're acting as if other people downvoting a deal are somehow depriving you of the opportunity to get it, they're not. Even if there were 50 downvotes and no upvotes you'd still have the opportunity to find this on the new deals page, like nearly every other deal ever posted.

In fact, since we're playing the game of hitting buttons, how about you do a search for "Big Man Tyrone" https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/Big%20Man%20Tyrone%… , then on that page hit "create an alert", and job done. Two clicks and you'll never miss a Big Man Tyrone deal ever again, regardless of negs.

      Old school meme

    • +2

He’s like your Mr T without the mohawk and jewellery.

      • +2

        So a poor man's Mr T? No wonder he's on Oz B :D

  • +6

Damn didn't realise $1USD was now $1.552AUD. That's pretty low historically

      • +7

Low Australian dollar drives up investment here, and lowers our buying power, both of which drive up inflation.

It's not "way too high". The article calls it a "nightmare" if it drops.

said a global recession would see the Aussie dollar tumbling to the nightmare mark within five years.

The absolutely crushing sanctions on Russia have barely made their currency drop 50%, I'm not sure that a global recession, that impacts everyone, would make ours drop nearly 50%. Food and energy will still be in demand, which makes up a lot of our exports.

      • +4

        LOL, “leading” analyst.

      • Please no. Peg to Australian dollar at the US at a 1:1 rate. Imports will will affordable once again, and inflation will be negative.

        • +1

And our entire economy will collapse, and government services will cease en masse as revenue dries up as China and India buy all their iron ore from Brazil.

    • +1

It's partly because our main trading partner (the one we buy weapons to protect ourselves from (China)) is experiencing economic hardship with all their builders going bust and negative growth for the first time in many years. Because they're not buying our stuff our goods are less in demand and we'll sell them for less. This devalues our goods which leads to our currency being worth less

    • +1

      That's pretty low historically

I suspect you also think 6% interest rates are high historically?

Maybe have a look at some history

Who is upvoting this to 20+? We are in a cost of living crisis and associated accounts keep posting this. This is not a deal.

    • +15

You've been around for over a decade and have only contributed a single deal, which makes you a certified community leech.

      • +3

The irony is that single deal is a MIDI keyboard, hardly an essential need.

  • +16

Oh look, the people angry at Tyrone getting the bag are here again. Let people live.

    • Man's gotta make the dosh somehow.

  • +3

    Thanks OP.

  • +7

I was in on the joke for a while, but these may as well be daily posts at this point. If a one-off joke purchase is on 'special' just about every month, that's its regular price, not a 'deal'.

  • +4

Sick of seeing this, not a deal

  • +5

Can't be a deal if it's the same every month…

  • +4

    Here we go again

  • +11

I'm giving the plus here - saw the jv clip.

All these people whining about this only monthly deal lol. Memory cards, pc builds, refurb tech come up a lot more often and half that shit ain't a deal. Just move along and ignore, this place is called Ozbargain not mybargain. Or just customise your notifications/alerts, etc

    • +9

They suffer from Main Character Syndrome.

Instead of hiding the deals for themselves they want to dictate that it's hidden from EVERYONE. The entitlement…

      • +2

Negging is not hiding anything from anyone. The deal is still featured on the front page. Negging is an expression of opinion on the quality of the deal, which in this case is crap since it's more or less the regular price. Negging bad deals is how this site is supposed to work. People can still make their own judgement about whether to buy, or not.

    • I've customised it, don't know why I still see it

  • +7

This is not a deal, can we please stop this monthly spam.

  • +2

If only there was something you could easily click to hide BMT “bargains” and take control of your front page… oh wait.

  • +2

Every month I see this deal and almost every month I see a PS5 deal. People say this is spam but not a sub $680 PS5 deal???

  • +5

Not sure how this constantly qualifies for a "deal"

    • +1

Well it is only 10 American dollars and he is probably the most famous of all the people who only do this. There may be real celebrities who are more well known who do this, but not for $10. My problem is I'm not sure if any business I work for, if their average customer would even know who he is, so kind of a crapshoot for marketing. Unless you can come up with a funny script I guess.

  • +3

getting a bit sick of it now big man

  • +3

No different to the popular coffee roasters AirJos posting once a month.

Honestly this is more of a deal than measly 5% discounts on iphones lol

  • +2

jv’s fan club is brigading. My application is still pending — don’t understand what is taking so long

  • +1

Look like Big Man Tyrone needs to come up with some new materials LOL

  • +4

I respect the hustle but at this point it seems like this is a monthly reoccurrence, it's kinda losing it's novelty and just seems annoying now.
There's no variation at all from what I can see, it's just the same deal over and over again.

  • +5

    This is a monthly farse.

    • You don’t know what a farce is

  • +4

Not a deal, more like spam

  • +3

Posting this every month borders on spam

  • +3

i bought it last month and didn't get a video. it's a scam.

Big man Tyrone comes to ozbargain whenever his money runs low…

    • +1

you come to ozbargain when your money is low too

  • -1

Why aren’t the inappropriate use of negative votes being removed?

    • Surely two negatives make a positive?

  • -1

Someone should do a funny one for Albo's dying "voice." Maybe changing the words to, "You're the Voice."

    It's the voice, no-one understands it…
It's clearly racist, so vote NO, NO NO NO, NO…. NO!

    • -2

What's to not understand? If you are choosing to still not understand what the voice proposes, then it's pure ignorance at this stage. Or you have a learning disability. In which case there is support you can seek.

      The question: https://www.aec.gov.au/referendums/learn/the-question.html

      Support: https://www.aec.gov.au/referendums/vote/accessibility.html

      • +1

Well I know 100% the yes crowd don't understand it for a start. the evidence of that is slapping them in face daily yet they deny it. All these toxic activists have been laying it out in the open for years what they intend, but now, Albo and all his sheep that are mindlessly denying it. Heck those activists are saying it right now still! Yet the yes sheep say, "Oh no, they didn't say that, no they don't want that, etc." It amazes me how so many people can be so deceived when it's right there in front of them, from those activists own mouths the very architects of the thing. Albo says no treaty, the guy who WROTE It says it's the first step, then comes treaty/ies. Talk about blind.

        • -1

Yes voters be like…. it's the Vibe and, no that's it, it's the vibe. I rest my case.

        • -1

Are you saying that you're worried that if the voice got up, then Aboriginal people will want a treaty after they have a voice?

Sorry, im genuinely trying to understand the no perspective.

          • @ninnypoop: I'm saying I don't really give a shit about what you think.

However it is my opinion that the intention is very clear, the Yes campaign has been purposely vague and misleading, picking and choosing their language carefully. People don't trust politicians nor should they. This constitutional amendment is a stepping stone. Read the full Uluru statement, the 112 page discussion document with the suggested roadmap, not the 1 page sanitized version.

The beauty of democracy is everyone is free to have their own opinion, you don't have to share mine and I don't have to share yours.

Insulting people or insinuating they have a learning disability because they disagree with your opinion is just immature and childish.

            • +1

              @Lichen6420:

Insulting people or insinuating they have a learning disability because they disagree with your opinion is just immature and childish.<

My original statement had nothing to do with opinions. It was in response to "no one understands it" in the first post by Faulty.

I was simply expressing the fact that if you still don't understand what the referendum proposes, then you're being willfully ignorant because it's actually in plain language. Or that if you have a learning disability, then that is a viable excuse and there are options to help you understand.

However it is my opinion that the intention is very clear, the Yes campaign has been purposely vague and misleading, picking and choosing their language carefully<

The constitutional change provides no teeth and absolutely no means to do anything further. It explicitly says that "the Voice may make representations to the Parliament".
So essentially can ask the sitting parliament if something can be done.

It goes onto then say that "the parliament shall… have power to make laws with respect to matters relating to the…Voice, including its composition, function, powers, and procedures."

So any real change that they voice wanted to make would still have to go through the elected parliament before any change was made. As you say, a democacray is great.

The Voice simply gives an avenue for representatives to speak to government. Nothing else.

Let's say that hypothetically the true nature of the voice architects came out and a future government wanted to grant them powers that allowed Aboriginal people to rule the world. That would still need to pass parliament. Then, since we do live in a domocracy, the people of Australia could elect a new government, and that government could take away the power that allowed Aboriginal people to rule the world.

If you love democracy so much then I don't see why allowing Aboriginal people to have a say on their own matters is such a big concern.

              • @ninnypoop: Rubbish. You're just like Albo. He gave ZERO info about it at first, then admitted he: "Haven't even read it, why would I!?" - yet calls people who have read it and listened to what its activist architects plan has been for years, "Chicken Littles" (stopping just short of calling them, "racists!" which btw, is a known Marxist tool to shut down conversation, to alienate people trying to warn others with the facts.

And you're now twisting what you said, as if you had some "genuine concern" for someone's ability to reason. WOT ROT! No one is buying your bull manure.

Well I'm not going to hide my disgust with the people who think they're doing good by Aboriginal people by voting yes and giving unlimited power (as Thomas Mayo says, "sovereignty"), not to them, but to the same toxic activists who have for decades greedily raked in THEIR money government has handed to them, only to squander it while everyday Aborigines are in the SAME position they were decades ago.

That is, anyone voting yes, either hasn't looked at what the activist voice architects have been planning and saying for years and is just taking them at their word, or… something else… I don't know what - but they don't REALLY care about Aboriginal people in any way that matters. Because if they really did care they should be listening to more than, "You're a Chicken Little racist if you don't vote yes…" from Albo. The voice is NOT going to do anything to assist them - it only benefits the same greedy activists who have been living high on the hog on THEIR dollars while only tossing them the occasional few cents.

The yes proponents, who don't want anyone to look at any facts, keep saying it's to "give Aboriginals a voice." THIS IS NONSENSE. There's already 11 Aboriginal folks in Parliament! So the voice does NOT need to be enshrined in the Constitution to "give them a voice" - they already have that voice right now! They just… open their mouths and start SPEAKING. The activists who designed it openly crow how it's the thin wedge to write them a blank check that will REQUIRE treaties and reparations, again without any oversight or responsibility to get either the billions they already receive, or the additional money they will then go after - where it's needed. In short, Aboriginal people ALREADY "have a say on their own matters."

Stop pretending they don't like they're helpless children. It's not only ignorant, it's highly offensive.

            • @Lichen6420: blah blah blah… another 2 1/2 weeks and we can all put this expensive bullshit exercise in virtue signaling by the ALP behind us. Can't wait to not have to read about this shit again soon.

              • +1

@Lichen6420: If you don't wanna read or contribute anything of merit, then go away. You're the one that involved yourself in this thread.

          • @ninnypoop: People who need to tell everyone watching they're "genuinely trying to understand" - aren't. It's a mealy-mouthed deceptive statement to try and disarm, to "get people on board" so they, "Well he says he's unbiased and he's voting yes, so I don't need to look into it for myself." Stop treating people here like gullible fools.

            a) Not the Aborigines, not everyday folks, just SOME who (purely by coincidence of course) happen to be activists - the same activists who collectively own 51% of Australia AND get $40 BILLION dollars a year from the taxpayer purse which is SUPPOSED to go towards a couple of percent of the population, yet after decades those people in need are still in the SAME POSITION with all the SAME PROBLEMS as decades ago. Gee, where did all those billion$ go, given NOTHING has changed? After squandering it on themselves and their pet projects that benefit only their family and friends in the city, who ALREADY have every opportunity everyone else not in remote communities has, to give thesmelves shiny new cars every year, all paid for, get free petrol and servicing and tyres etc on their activist accounts/books, air conditioned office buildings, meals paid for… somehow it's still the fault of "whitey" that the people they greedily hold money back from are in the same situation.

            b) These very same whiny, greedy, selfish, grossly-exaggerating and lying activists are the same ones who DESIGNED "the voice."

            c) Those same activists who designed and drafted the voice have for YEARS been laying out what they're planning and openly said it's ONLY THE FIRST STEP - the thin edge of the wedge, the foot in the door, long before it spilled from Albo's gullible lips - that they NEED IT added to the constitution because THEN they get UNLIMITED POWER through access to the Australian taxpayer purse to fight, fight, and fight some more in court… until every objector to their (ahem) "suggestions" to parliament drown in lawfare debt.

Because "you", your local community group, etc have to raise their own funds, and don't benefit from unlimited taxpayer funding, all the activists need to do to steal something someone else spent years building and their life savings on, is to fight in court until you, your community group, whatever… goes under financially - and so, they win.

I know of an incident years ago where some activist wanted to land-grab a prime real estate site. The existing building was demolished, an activist tossed a bone over the fence, then reported to authorities it was probably an Aboriginal burial site. It was eventually thrown out of court. But once the voice is in all they need to do is drag it out, month after month, year after year, with their unlimited taxpayer funding until the owner goes broke.

            d) Videos of them stating it openly and clearly are on youtube. Have you even looked? Of course not. I know you're insincere due to the need to mention you're "genuinely trying to understand." Yes voters are not really for the Aboriginal people at all, because of the first point above. i.e. They want to give more power, more cash, to the same insincere activists who say one thing with their mouths but then steal by squandering for decades and screamed, "Racist! any time some oversight was mentioned, while everyday Aboriginal people go without. Yet the yes crowd (either ignorantly or deliberately!?) wants to give these SAME greedy grifters EVEN MORE!

At worst the yes crowd couldn't care less about Aboriginals because plenty of THEM are saying to vote no TOO - and at best, they want to vote "yes" so they can pat themselves on the back they've "done their bit" while leaving someone else - anyone else but them - to get their hands dirty doing the real work. (Which never actually gets done.)

But in spite of your insincerity THANK YOU for asking. Because some people here, who aren't closed-minded, deceptive, who don't swallow every tidbit media and government vomit into their mouths telling them it's Ferrero Rochers, will watch the videos from the activists and architects of the voice, realise their open deception and what it will mean, and listen to all the OTHER Aboriginal folks citing facts and evidence and warning they will vote no TOO. Because they don't want to be split off, divided from the rest of Australia more than they already are thanks to those toxic activists, nor receive the coming hatred that will be the fault of the activists "voice" directed at them instead - especially when they'll receive little to nothing from it AGAIN just as they have with all those other $,$$$,$$$,$$$ (BILLIONS) at point A.

And don't start any deceptive whining about the channel it's on, trying to deceive people by association into not looking. Who cares what channel it is when it's the voice architects OWN WORDS. - which Albo and all the yes activists are LYING about and/or HIDING from everyday people. Instead deceptively playing on peoples' genuine compassion for our Aboriginal bothers and sisters, using DECEIT to STEAL even more from us, but splashing it on only themselves as they have done for decades. At least SOMEONE is showing what came out of the horse's mouth.

            • Thomas Mayo (activist and architect of the voice): Basically, they want SOVEREIGNTY (supreme power and authority over other people and their laws), and getting "the voice" into the Constitution is the first step toward that, then they can start demanding "treaties" (which they'll also receive unlimited funding to fight in court and achieve). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMy3wcP9g8g

            • Noel Pearson (activist and architect of the voice): "The first door is Constitutional Enshrinement. The second door is the treaty door." (Constitutional Enshrinement means it becomes Federal Law and so overrides State and local Council laws.) Meanwhile, Albo has been saying there won't BE any treaties. Maybe HE should listen to its architects, seeing they both understand and have designed it for years in lawyer offices to get exactly what they want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsM92R-8VRA

            • Marcia Langton (guess what she is too…): "The macarata commission will supervise agreement making and treaties with government." (Albo says this won't/can't happen - that it's just advisory. But the activists who designed the voice know better what it means. Get it into the constitution and they get a free cheque book and free reign to do whatever they like (like treaties which Albo says it won't allow), with their only "roadblock" to getting what they want being TIME in court thanks to unlimited funding). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRPhGCcQ6nk

            • Albo: "It's not about a treaty. This is not about a treaty. This is not about a treaty!" Thomas Mayo: "The culminating agenda of the Uhlaru Statement is treaty. We get political power by fighting for a constitutionally-enshrined voice." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4npyiWdbxHE

            • Albo: "The people with me on this stage I regard as giants." Thomas Mayo (standing on the stage with Albo): "And to pay respect to the Elders of the Communist Party who without a doubt have played a very important role in our activism." "This is the first step." "To get [government, Australian people, etc] to 'pay the rent' [so the voice activists want us all only as "tenants"] - how do we do that in a way that sees reparations and [financial and otherwise] compensation." "The power in the voice is it creates the ability what legislation needs to be created and amended and PUNISH [(unlimited taxpayer-purse-funded lawfare] politicians who ignore our advice." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=655mzGRmkZw

            • @[Deactivated]: Everyone in this thread is a total loser.

              • +2

@Jigram: Thanks for being part of the thread.

            • @[Deactivated]: Thanks for outlaying all of that. I can't say that I agree with most of what you're saying but I'm also not going to argue each point you've raised, especially not over text.

I do take some of your points on board.

I think that for some of the saliant points you hit the nail on head: the fact that current processes are not working and money is thrown into the ether with nothing in return (e.g. the wasted money thrown at communities and nothing coming of it, so imo a regional voice would better direct that money; I don't believe the 'architects' are simply pocketing the money - they all have their own well paying careers, which they have built for themselves - pocketing government money is fraud and they'd be done by now, especially with all the scrutiny getting around right now) .

Also the road to treaty has always been on the table and always will be. By not seeking treaty Aboriginal people, including myself, are submitting to colonisation. I don't see why people think that Aboriginal people should ever not seek a treaty. Anyways, treaty is coming at the state levels so it's not a federal concern. This has been outlined by Albo many times.

Happy to keep the discussion going if you'd like but I think we've both said our piece and I respect that you have your opinion and thoughts and we probably ain't going to convince each other either way, especially over text.

              Best of luck.

              • +1

                @ninnypoop:

Also the road to treaty has always been on the table and always will be.

Yes, but Albo, and nearly everyone in the yes camp until you just now… have said the opposite. i.e. No treaty will come due to "the voice." But as their videos above prove, that's exactly their goal and reason they need the voice, what it will enable them to do/obtain - demand really, if the voice is inserted into the Constitution and Federal Law.

Aboriginal people already "have their voice" but the ones speaking for them… haven't spoken for them. Or they pretend to but then somehow eat up all the money until little to none of it reaches people in real need. And I can't believe anyone, either the yes or no side, if they understood these facts would want those same wasteful, greedy, or whatever they are - maybe it's just incompetent… people having even more power, more money, more of saying one thing but doing another.

As for colonisation, it happened, people who haven't got over it, need to. Every people on earth has fought another people to try to "take their stuff" and either won or lost. Albo says the voice would bring Australians together but it's done the exact opposite. Well we're ALL Australians. Activists don't like that word, "Australia" but it doesn't matter what word the country is known as, we're all equal citizens of it. "They" already have an equal voice but have the wrong people speaking. Dividing us by race, giving special entry to Federal Law to one group based on race (over all the other races here too) is ugly and offensive. So one group of people today doesn't "owe" another group anything. i.e. Thomas Mayo wants reparations, free money. It's the same vote-winning trick the USA Democrats use which solves nothing, actually demotivates people to achieve anything in their life, rather they sit and wait and go without until the next meager handout.

The voice, it's activist authors, the ill-informed (or lying) Albo… are going about this all wrong.
