    • +5

very good price, even cheaper than Hong Kong!

      • -2

        Hong Kong's the best

        • care to elaborate more?

        • +4

Normally, but when AUS comes up promotion, it beats everything!
AUD$200~HKD$1,600, in HK it never have promotion like this at all.. the demand are too high in HK for them to run such "silly" promotion.
But if so, all stocks will gone and shipped to China by those grey stock running mainlander …what a shame!

        • dim sum and then sum

        • Why do people get upset at mainlanders? Especially people from Hong Kong and Malaysia look down on them for no apparent reason.

        • -1

there are many reasons, mark but i wont start list them here

          no offence
          peace

    • This price is cheaper than most grey import prices. Insanely good deal. Might not see these prices again until the S4 hits stores.

      • Agreed, and it's going to be interesting to see the impact the S4 does have on the price of the Note 2. Just a half an inch smaller screen, and a 1080 screen at that. Rumoured also to have S-Pen and other Note 2 functionality.

    • Duty Free Central have it for $644 + $29 shipping.
Has anyone ever bought from them?

The answer to the obvious question. Copied from the FAQ.

      Q) Do I need to travel overseas to be entitled to Duty Free Sales?
      A) No, you do not need travel overseas to qualify for duty free sales, under the current Australian and New Zealand law, low value personal use shipments qualify for tax and duty exemption. (For more details see Aust customs and NZ customs websites)

  • Anyone knows if it has Optus logo/apps/bloatware on it? Also, can we pay by AMEX? Can anyone check, if down in the area?

    • I did read somewhere that Samsung stock in the Samsung store actually was Optus branded firmware. Not sure if I read it from Whirlpool or on here.

      • They hv OPTUS bloatware free phones. Plain Samsung phone only in WHITE color. No Titanium available as of 4:40PM on the 5th.

    • Looks like it's a straight samsung phone, on another note my phone came with the Optus bloatware but in the current version of Android you can remove them :)
On my S2 you were stuck with the bloatware.

      • I went to the Samsung shop a few months ago, and the stock they sold there had Optus bloatware, but they said there might be pure Samsung Android ones later - they weren't sure. I don't want to root the phone, and don't really want to wait til Optus releases software updates. I think we get software updates quicker without the Optus stuff on it, as we don't have to wait for Optus to release their customised versions.

        • Oh, sorry.
Yes you do have to wait for Optus to approve updates.
Although they seem to come out pretty fast.

        • that is so not true
I have Galaxy S3 and Optus took forever (months) before giving the official JB update.

      • ZRXS12, when you said "remove", do u mean "hide" rather than "uninstall"?

        • Sorry I was thinking of the Optus Apps rather than a vanilla OS.

Joe888 I was able to uninstall the Optus Apps in Settings/Applications Manager, just select the App and you will then be shown an option to uninstall.
Previously on my S2 I was unable to do this which was really frustrating, hope this helps you :)

  • nice, cheaper than kogan for aus stock

  • Damn, was holding off to see what the SG4 had but this deal is too tempting!

    Might just win me over..

  • Anyone know will it work on upcoming Vodafone 4G?

    • Supports three bands 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz so if Vodafone is on one of them then it should. From memory Voda is rolling out 1800MHz band for their 4G.

Please check I could be wrong as I am relying on my memory here.

      • Where did you get thos freqs from?

        3G (850 / 900 / 1,900 / 2,100Mhz)
        LTE (1,800 / 2,600Mhz)
        Ref http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/mobile-phone/mobile-phone…

        • That is N7105T (T=Telstra)

Optus/Samsung direct use the International version N7105
          http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_ii_n7100-4854.ph…

        • I have a 9100T from Vodafone, I remember that "T" is a special model for 850mhz network.

        • -1

          4G Network LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2600 - N7105
          By the link you posted.

        • From The OPTUS website this mobile works on
          3G Network
          HSPA+ 850/900/1900/2100
          4G Network
          1800Mhz

          https://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobilephones/samsung/galaxynot…

        • The "T" variant doesn't have the 800MHz activated on the modem. However with a custom firmware and modem you can get the three bands back.

Although from research the 800MHz band isn't widely used and the proposed world band will be the 2600MHz band so should be ok from that front.

        • OK going by the post further down by alishaikh (these are the working bands)

          EDGE / GPRS (850 / 900 / 1,800 / 1,900Mhz)
          3G 3G (850 / 900 / 1,900 / 2,100Mhz)
          4G LTE (1,800 / 2,600Mhz)

      • Thanks for that, should be fine with Voda.

very tempting for this price, but my contract nearly finish, don't know should I but outright or get it with new contract.

  • i guess it's about time for samsung to clear space for the SGS4 announcement next week.

  • Damn this, I got it from mobileciti like last week, annoying as!

Nostradamus predicted Gumtree and ebay will be flooded with 'Unwanted Gift' ads for Note 2 in March 2013…

    • probably Gumtree, with ebay/paypal fees wont be worth it.

  • nvm wrong info

  • Something new might be around the corner im holding myself .
This deal is 150$ cheaper than any aus stock price.

    • +1

The s4 is around the corner

    • S4 confirmed keynote release 14th of this month

    • I took the plunge and bought a Note 2… the rumours of a larger screened Note 3 put me off it. The Note 2 is large enough for myself and I don't see myself going any larger. Plus I like the current arrangement of the subpixels in the screen so no time like the present to take the plunge.

      • +1

        that's what she said

        • +3

she said that she likes the current arrangement of the subpixels, that's hot

        • +1

Geez re reading my post makes it sound so wrong… :(

  • I m hasitating between note 2 and Sony xperia z, seems similar price, any suggestion?

    • +1

I have a note II. excellent battery life imo even on the 4G model def a leader of the pack

    • I wanted both… however the Minister for Treasury and Finance declined the budgetary proposals and provided an alternate version that didn't satisfy nor attained the original goals of the original proposal.

      • +4

Sounds like you need to satisfy the Minister first.

Xperia Z has full hd screen, better cpu and gpu, minimal Sony UI, water and dust resistant and apparently great build quality with a premium feel.

Note 2 is 0.5 inches bigger screen, has removable battery which is also around 30% larger and S Pen.

    • i would choose the Xperia Z, it's made from more premium materials

  • Any chance someone can upload something more official looking so I can take to JB / DSE for price match? Thanks.

    • +1 for OP also. Good work!

    • +4

Take what? you don't pay 599. 200 bux comes in the form of a debit card. so I don't think any retailer will touch it

        • -3

          Oooohh. Harsh.

        • -7

          ??? Hehe. WTF?

        • -4

no love. i'll give you some.

  • OP, can you please provide more details on the T&C's at the bottom of the pic? I'd be interested to know if there's any limits per person etc.

    Cheers!

    • LOL. eBay, here we go.

      • Alright stop. Broden time.

        • I just happen to have a, umm, big family? ;)

  • great price but isnt the Xperia Z selling for around $600 at the moment? (obviously from overseas)

I would rather the Z than the Note2.

Also, Note2 4G doesn't include FM radio, a dealbreaker for me.

    Positive vote anyway!

    • Where are you seeing the xperia Z for 600? That's a real good price. I was actually looking for that before I saw this deal…

      • There was an Amazon UK promotion. Without VAT, the phone's around $660 AUD. Promotion gives you $50 Amazon credit, effectively bringing it down to ~$610 with your next purchase. There's another promotion running now with the HTC One. Also $660 without VAT but you get a wireless media streamer (RRP 50 pounds).

        • £50 credit.

And it was £499 before the ozbargainers and whingpoolers got into it, now it's like £515 or something, with £50 discount.

        • Even better.

  • +2

    bro and sis..
    confirmed:
stock rom, none of telstra optus etc apps, cannot pay by AMEX only visa/master, grey and white same price. finishing tomorrow 7pm.

the cool factor is multitask (screen splitted into 2 showing 2 diff apps but not all apps, only the ones capable of multitask. so you can still seeing google map and write email at the same time.

  • should I fly to Sydney for this?? I want one too

    • Yes

      • +1

how about this….you buy one for me and fly to brisbane, and I will pay HALF of ur flight fare!! WIN WIN solution, except you have to pay for ur whole Familie's flight expense(except ur half) and all other spendings!! but u get to enjoy ur time in Brisbane!!

Let me know if u wanna deal!!

  • Great deal, not in Brisbane :(

  • Can someone tell me the website of this place or an address and phone number? I cant seem to find it :(

Titanium sold out at 4:35pm. White only left. Received my 2 x 100 buck gift cards on the spot. Roadshow is headed to Paramatta, then the easter show apparently.

    • Did you by chance find out about the possible Optus bloatware?

    • Hmm… I was planning to go tmw. I thought they're still there tmw?

      • OK… I guess they'll still have the white ones tmw. :)

    • Do you mean can't get grey color with this offer anymore?
      I am planning tomorrow's visit :P

    • whereabouts tomorrow? Parramatta?

      • Still Circular Quay until 7pm Wed.
They will probably have more stock of both colours tomorrow.

  • In Korea everyone has this!

They are doing agressive advertising on Korean TV. Also the Samsung Galaxy Pop

  • I have a Note 2 - was worried about the size but got a thin case and haven't regretted getting it for one moment. I swapped from an iPhone 4 and now when I use my wife's iPhone 4 for anything I wonder how anyone uses something so small.
That said, I'm also a tall person with big hands so if you do not fit that description don't expect to be doing much one handed operation with this.
