Just jumped on Anaconda website for contact details as my mini spit from last weeks deal came without some parts!
Anyway, this was listed only minutes before I logged on.

Seems like a very good deal.

  • +1

Yep, more to ship than buy.

  • +1

Ah, I didn't even check delivery. No pickup is a joke.
Keep in mind this will be a BIG unit! I have the single seater and it's pretty big to lug around.

  • +5

Delivery is more than the product itself . $63 for a delivery and no pick up option . Not buying it

  • +2

Delivery is the killer. Awesome price on its own but without pick up option it makes it a ridiculous price! An extra $91.64 to where I live. No thanks!!

  • Now even really fat people can relax in comfort

    • ..and rich.

  • +2

What an absolute joke! $67 to deliver to Brisbane.

Hi all. Just called up Anaconda (for fun) to ask why the delivery was so high. The nice girl I spoke to was also surprised and checked with someone (presuming manager). They came back and said that the delivery charge had been changed. It is now $7.85 per item. I've check a couple of metro postcodes in VIC (3023), NSW (2153) and QLD (400) and all are $7.85. Not sure about rural. Makes it worth while now.

    • +2

Good deal . Too bad I dont need it. Wish I got that phone from yesterday tho

damn you the postage was the only thing holding me back :D

  • just confirmed it is $7.85 to ship within metro victoria. resisting from the ozbargain impulse buy… (again!)

  • $7.50 to post to Hobart as well…. just bought 2.

  • it is still $20ish dollars for me… i can see the cbd from where i am…

  • Bought one - bang! Good deal.

  • I was just about to say mine came up @ $7.85. That's more reasonable.

  • +3

OK. About half an hour ago, I emailed Anaconda to lambast them about the postage cost.

They just responded with the following :

"Thank you for contacting Anaconda Enquiries!

We have amended the dimensions on the pricing online, should you refresh the page and try again the price should be significantly cheaper.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact [email protected] ."

    Now postage cost is $7.85!!

Yay, a win for people power!

  • $7.85 postage to Sydney, nice!

  • Is this comfortable? Adjustable?

  • no matter how many times i refresh, clear cookies, log out, reset. i still get $20ish postage. oh well i dont really need it anyway….

Good deal price wise, but these things aren't practical to use IRL. They are bulky to transport so they aren't the best for camping. They aren't as wide as you might think so it isn't ideal as a two seater.
There is a pretty good reason why these are a clearance item i.e. they suck functionality wise.

  • -1

Does not look like it can hold 270kg!

  • Tempting… but worried about how to transport it with all the other camping crap.

  • +1

Thanks to the op and thanks to the ozbargainers ringing them about delivery, then sharing the win with us!

  • +1

The single seater version of these are $38 at Kmart and $48 at Mitre10, so not the 'bargin' its making it out is, not anaconda brand, but very sturdy, I bought 2 while waiting for lounges to arrive on order

  • I live in Sydney and delivery is $7.85. Why are you guys getting hit?

Edit: Looks like someone did a good job at fixing it. Thanks!

  • Do you think that I could use this as a normal couch. I move a lot and it would be easier to lift this.

    • Yeah, they are bloody comfy. Probably chuck a blanket over it and use it in the lounge room.

  • I'm 200cm, wondering if I could sit comfortably on this? head may hang over the top of the head rest.

    • +1

No way, unless you practice yoga.

  • +1

Postage seems to be free for Brisbane :)

  • Postage is $10.00 to Adelaide.
Just when I thought I was being strong and developing willpower not to click, I got Ozbargained again!

  • Thanks OP, got 1

  • Can't decide if genius or just stupid. Does it fold away to a decent size for storage?

EDIT: oh well, I deliberated for too long. Sold out just as I was about to order (had it in cart but didn't help).

  • ah crap, seems like none left. has anyone managed to get one?

    • Got one..$5.80 delivery…lets hope it's a good quality…never heard of anaconda brand before…anyone bought off them before?

  • -1

bought two , freight $5.95 Melbourne , ha ha ha

  • I would feel like I was sitting on an airliner in one of these..

  • sold out!

  • Relevant info for Ozbargainers:

Despite the 'Out of Stock' sign on the top of this thread, I decided to put in an order and went through with the process. The weird part? Not that I didn't get a 'Stock Sold Out' warning; but that no matter how many times I put in my Sydney postcode, there was no delivery fee applied. Oh well, we'll see what happens (if you haven't guessed by my username, I went thru the whole Harvey Norman Asus Slate consumer data-mining exercise and waited 42 Kafka-esque days for my money back).

OP, could you revoke the 'Out of Stock' status? At least up until 8am AEST :-).

    Irrelevant Info:

I got a single lounger from Kmart last year for $59.95 and quite liked the 'gravity-free' feeling of it but I've been hunting for a double-width/XL version ever since - I like my, er, 'boys' to have breathing space.

I have a feeling I may have to do some extra work (ie. sawing metal strut off) - noticed there's a support strut in the middle to counter the 'two people sliding in' problem of the earlier versions of double loungers.

  • Definitely in stock again. The stock status for me is showing full stock now, above poster probably had a cached status. Just bought one, free shipping to Brisbane, same as when I almost bought one yesterday before selling out. Only an hour left though.

  • Can some kind soul tell me what "cached status" means?

    • Sometimes the browser caches images etc, so that they don't have to load the next time you visit the site. So even though you didn't see any stock, they had definitely updated the stock levels,

  • Damn missed out. Exactly what I was looking for. Anyone know where I find one these cheaply?

  • +1

Got the chair today, wow, much nicer than I expected, the picture doesn't do it justice at all. Didn't realise it was actually a proper good-for-your-back chair, similar to those low gravity ones, and not your run of the mill sun lounger. Good quality too from the look and feel of it. Very happy I bought this, well worth $60 :) Also got my philips tv wall mount delivered today as well, good day :P

EDIT: obviously too late now for anyone to buy this now, but in case they run this promo again I should also mention that it folds up completely flat and comes in a zip up bag with carry handles… and it also has cup holders :P

EDIT: sitting in my chair while writing this, in the living room of our small unit. GF thinks I'm crazy (but she did mention I should have bought two).

    • fruxo, belated thanks for your 'cached status' explanation.

      • mine came today too (with no e-mail notification prior). Loud banging on the door in the morning.

      • either I got the two left cup holders or its a 'one size fits all' situation at Spinifex. The heavy zip-up canvas bag was a nice touch tho' - good for them grey nomads.

      • now to find a hacksaw to Homer-fy this to a wide lounger.
For those who plan to buy this in the future for its intended use, it's recommended: unlike other 'two-seaters', there are sturdy support struts that extend from head to toe right in the middle-line of the chair so that you don't get the 'hammock roll-in' effect.
