About OzBargain
Our goal is simple — bringing the best deals and bargains in Australia to consumers. Too ambitious? Surely it is! Therefore we need your help. Instead of finding all the great bargains ourselves, you, one of the best bargain hunters in the land of Down Under, can bring in your hottest findings and share with the rest of us.
Who is OzBargain?
OzBargain is you, the community of on-line shoppers in Australia. This is the place where we share the best bargains in Australia and share them with each other.
OzBargain is developed by scotty, a Sydney based software programmer, and with help from a small team of moderators.
How does it work?
Easy.
- Register an account.
- Submit new bargain.1
- Fill in location of the bargain, a catchy subject, and a sentence or two to describe how hot it is.
While all the deals posted are community moderated, We do however have a guideline on what should you post and what is categorised as “bargains”.
Community Moderation? Voting?!
To vote for a bargain that you like, you need to
- Log in as a user
- Click on the green + sign right under the count of current votes.
Bargains with more votes are more visible by other members in the OzBargain community. If a bargain receives 5 votes or more it will be featured on the home page. However if it gets more negative votes than the positive votes, it will be delisted automatically.
For more information, please see our voting guideline.
But I Am Not Looking for Things to Buy. I Am Selling!
If you are a merchant, an online store owner, an employee of a retail shop, etc, and would like to share your specials, you are free to submit them as well! However, they will be moderated by the same community so if you post junks, you get bad feedbacks!
For more information, see our merchant FAQ.

As of 21 June 2009, all new accounts have a 24 hours submission ban due the level of spams we got. For more information, please see deal submission help. ↩
