  • what do you get for preordering?

How do we know if this is a bargain if it's a preorder?

From the fiasco that was the SimCity release, I'd definitely hold off pre-ordering a key for any game to be released on Origin from any of the key resellers. EA will do whatever they can to stop these key resellers including locking the language and requiring you to install a 3rd party patch after every official update.

    • Understood although this is a multilingual key meaning that it is dynamic to your country of insertion regardless of where you got it from ea can't monitor that. As for the sim city fiasco this was actually more the game makers fault than EA and bf4 is made in an entirely different studio just because they both have an EA badge doesn't mean they will have the same problems.

      • Actually, the SimCity fiasco was caused by EA. They advertised the Hungarian version as multilingual, then when you tried to use English, it locked you out saying you haven't activated it. EA completely controls the publishing section of their business, which is what put this restriction on. This did not come from the Maxis studio, but from EA. With the fact that in order to activate Russian copies of BF3 (all these key sites get them from eastern European countries as they're much cheaper there), you need to use a VPN and patch to English every single update, this really isn't out of the question for DICE games.

  • Good price, but I will never ever pre-order a EA game again thanks to the abomination that was Simcity.
