Olympus XZ-1 $170 (Ex GST) @JR Free Duty (27 Adelaide St, Brisbane 4000)

50

2011 released Olympus XZ-1 is seen $170 (ex GST) at a duty free shop, 27 Adelaide St, Brisbane.
If you are not going overseas shortly you might need to pay extra 10% of GST but still cheaper than the second hands on eBay.

I don't know how many stocks do they have but a duty free store is not expected to hold large stock of a phased out model, I suppose.

  • Amazing price for an excellent little camera!

  • +1

This is a little gem of a compact camera. It has a lens with an exceptionally large aperture F1.8-2.5 and has received many good reviews. It was around $450 when it was released a couple of years ago. It's amazing how many good cameras that were introduced around that time period are being sold at rock bottom prices.

  • Agree with the comments above. A great compact camera. Bought it from Amazon UK last year at a then special price of £230 ($360). This is a bargain.

    Edit: correct $/£ conversion

  • I own one of these, bought it new in November 2011 and have not regretted the purchase for a second. Have not even felt inclined to upgrade to the XZ-2 (and don't think the XZ-10 must be better, its a much smaller sensor). The XZ-1 is a brilliant little cam with magic Oly colours. Sharp as a tack and fab in low light. Highly recommended.

  • I played with this when I was working at a camera store. Ended up getting the Samsung EX1 (very similar… better lens performance in the corners and edges, metal build and I preferred the controls) but this camera has a sharp lens (drops of a bit in the corners) and the brightness helps in low light.

  • I should add that this is a great price… I'm still using the EX1 and if u had gone with this I still have not seen any compact worth upgrading to.

  • Rx100 is probably the only camera I can think that's better but more than 2x the price
