  • Phew, bought the same miniOTG from banggood for 2cents cheaper. Obviously, postage took a while though.

    • We are Australian! :)

        We are Australian! :)

"we"? are you more than simply a sole trader?

isnt everything you sell made in china (etc) anyway? so in reality its simply just paying an australian middle man for the same thing?

while i think supporting local industry here is extremely important and something that isnt taken anywhere near seriously enough, just jumping on the "australian" bandwagon when 100% of what you sell is foreign made its somewhat missing the whole point of supporting australia….

just my opinion, bring on the neggers…

  • It appears that there is a right and a left angled OTG. Is it random which one we get?

P.S. at $2 each I can understand why people might down-vote my comment.

    • It depends on the direct of your Micro USB Port.

Some devices are positioned different, so if your device for example is a Samsung Galaxy S3 - The smallest bit of the micro usb port is upward. This device will than be LEFT. If the smaller end of the micro usb port is down, it would than face RIGHT.

      • Yep I follow what you are saying. In the pic though it seems they can go either way.
e.g. Say I had a Galaxy S3. in the pic looks like the first OTG will go to the left while the second OTG will go to the right.

Ok.. I am probably going to get negged for this, but, had a look at the product page, and the product image has been taken from dx.com - you can see the dx.com logo on the image. Maybe DX is the supplier?

Anyway, if you go to the original dx site, it is $2.80 for a set of two. Possibly the ones here are the same (a set of 2 for $2), but the website doesn't make it clear, and it seems from the rep's response here you only get one.

Rep, would be intersting to know if you had permission to use that image from dx, or else, as an Australian business, don't you think you should be hiring an Australian photographer to do your product shots for you? :)

  • Never got mini usb cable. Your guys let me send me email to your support emaill. And no reply anymore. Should I claim refund from paypal for 1buck?

    • No you should wait till the OP posts a new deal and then complain there!!

      • Oh wait…
      • I thought that was in the posting rules anyway ???

    • What was your order ID?

I'll get this deal with now.

      • Invoice id: 855
        23/2/2013

  • I also never received my order. Order ID: 1438.

    • I've re-opened that order, will be dispatched today.

  • Haven't got my order too. Order no. 1199. Paid on 16th Apr.
13 days (and counting)…too much for local deliveries.

So Moots is a rep and a MOD?

  • Hi, my order was posted 12 days ago, and I still have not received anything.

Could you please check my order as well? It's order 1577.

    Thanks

  • Placed my order during the last sale. Very quick postage.

    $9.95 "express shipping"

You can buy the same or very similar cables shipped for about $1.60 on DX.com

    Where is the deal???

    • The deal is that it's $1.49 with normal Postage and Handling.

That's a saving of 11 cents! Maybe you could get a pear or something…

      • Don't forget Australian Shipping!

      • +1

sounds like it might be worth spending 11 more cents to not have to ask on a public forum if your order is actually going to be delivered or not. I hate to sledge aussie businesses but damn…

        • Your more than welcome to but for the 5-6 people claiming they have not received there orders yet (we will make sure all orders are complete) there are 700+ unique orders that have.. you don't have to ask on a public forum. We have an e-mail and a direct number to call for any questiona regarding orders.

      • Unless there's a coupon code or something I am missing, I can see what GreatWhiteHunter refers to. On the check out page, there is a radio button (not a check box) to select Express Shipping for $9.95. Once selected, can't see an easy way to undo (it will rememeber this choice if leave and resume check out).

Seems bad website design. Once you've selected $9.95 shipping, no way to undo (unless I am missing something - and no, I can't be bothered clearing my cookies etc).

        • Yep in the checkout page it says $9.95 shipping….

        • Once you've filled out all the required boxes. The free postage pop-up will appear.

  • I haven't got mine from the last sale - order 1473 (paid 16 Apr)

  • i wonder why there are so many claims of unreceived goods.

is it auspost's fault? what could go wrong here?

    • Hmm Auspost do lose items, but not that often…

    • I placed 4 items in one order. 1 Micro USB card reader and 2 x Micro USB cable were sent by separate mails. Another Mini USB cable was never received. I do not think that's AU POST fault.

      • +3

Gooddong. Order are sent separately according to Australian Post standards, as for the accusation of basically putting us at fault of a missing item. We do not ever not send orders out. We cover the fault of Australia Post if any items are missing. There is customer support for that ([email protected]) you're more than welcome to e-mail any questions or call us directly. All problems are sorted out within minutes.

We make absolutely minimal profits off these deals, and are simply trying to encourage these sorts of deals in the OzBargain community was well as other Australian sellers such as BrentsBits.

I think people are forgetting that they are paying bucks for Australian items and postage. We have sold over 4,000+ OTG cables associated with OzBargain. We have had less than 30 claims of un-received items.

Let me sum it up for you.

        $1.49 Per Item

        • $0.38 PayPal Fee
        • $0.60 Postage Stamp
        • OTG Cable $0.xx (Mind you, we need to buy in bulk of THOUSANDS)
        • GST TAX
        • Envelope / Packing Materials / Labels.

        Profit: Literally, in the cents!

        What you get for $1.49

        • Australian Customer Support
        • Postage from Sydney
        • Supporting an Australian Business - In fact. We are in the Australian Aboriginal Indigenous Business Australia Program IBA
        • Tax payer

        What do we get?

        • Hours of putting labels on envelopes, putting them all together. Than posting them out.
        • Constant criticism and price matching on international websites, negatives for "not receiving items"
        • Re-sending lost items in the mail. Mind you, we do not own Australian Post (This is literally out of our own pocket)
        • Helping customers with constant e-mails of compatibility, support above and beyond hardware but software for their devices.

This takes many hours and many times have huge bags of packaged goods.

        • I sent email as what you said but no response!

        • @Moots - Your attachment shows some of the customer details, please blur them for privacy reasons.

        • I support ya buddy

        • I got mine only yesterday (Bought and paid on 16 April 2013, and told it was mailed on 18 April 2013).

Was pretty excited as I plugged it into my Xperia Z then connected a USB stick. My phone recognised it for half a second (pop-up notification), but then all detection was gone. I tried connecting other devices, restarting my phone/etc and still didn't work.

I tried my gf's Xperia Z and no device would be connected.

I notice some usb device light up and others do not, but NOTHING is detected - none of the devices I connected require separate power input (usb stick/mouse/keyboard).

I contacted support yesterday, but I have yet to hear back from them, and the seller's website is now offline…

        • Hi Ameel.

The cable works very basic. 4 cables connected to a USB Port. What I suggest is look at your hardware.

If it is recognising, it means the cable is working. Some devices require additional software tweaks we have nothing to do with, please re-send the e-mail as we haven't received any e-mail attentioning this issue.

          [email protected]

Re: Site is offline to launch a new platform. Theres nothing to be worried about.

        • sent an email to that inbox regarding my order not being received - no response.

  • never got my order also.
    order ID 973
    paid 23 Feb

  • Thanks bought two.

  • The angled ones look like they aren't wired.. hmm so wired is probably more convenient I would say. Missed out last deal so will get one this time :)

  • Are people in Melbourne still waiting for delivery from this deal? 5 business days so far here.

  • still haven't received mine

  • Not even mine.
