  • good price, dont usually get anything near this at BCF or supercheap

    • BCF, Supercheap and Rays outdoors are all owned by the same company lol

Just use branches or rocks to pack under wheels, they are free and you don't have to carry them. Now thats a bargain!

Also from what i've seen these only seem to fit in the back of pajero's when old people re driving. They fall on top of their weekend sunhats and oh what a mess.

Can I ask why this was down-voted? Is there something wrong with this?
I've done it before and it was fine…

these work on beaches where rocks and trees are sometimes a long walk or illegal to use. These are more like insurance. the idea is not to use them, but if you do need them they are worth the cost.

      • We have used them on the beach and they are amazing

  • Also if you are really in trouble out there, your rubber floor mats can be used.

  • $241??? are they made of gold or something?

or just cut up some milk crates and zip tie them together…

BCF should pricematch this considering Ray's and BCF are hiding under the same umbrella.

Click and Collect for the whole of QLD doesn't seem to work, you will have to head in store unless you want these one delivered.

    • Apparently this sale ended instore on the 28th.

I managed to get to BCF and have them pricematch the online price as it's still up for $216 on the website.

I think some packs of these come with a nice petticoat you can wear when you are out on the tracks.

    some ridiculous replies here.

Serious 4wd'ers will know just how good these are, and how most of the other suggestions are stupid or dangerous (or both)

I have a pair of these, and they have had a few work outs, previously I would have ended up winching out of situations that these have pulled me out of… cheap compared to a winch I can tell you!

Serious 4wd'ers would have a winch. And thats to rescue the novice 4wd'ers as a serious driver does not get stuck!

  • Good price.
Made the mistake of borrowing mine to a mate who is quite inexperienced in muddy terrain. He sat on them spinning which wore away all the tread on the maxtrax.

sounds like you have mintrax now

    • +1

He's not a mate if he didn't replace them without asking. If he ruined them, he should have replaced them.

      • +2

        He replaced them :)
He kept the old ones and got me a new set. The old ones are still useable, they just have a dip and burnt patch in a section of them

    • I told my mate when I recovered him - he spins on mine, he's the brand new owner of those maxtrax.

  • Good price thanks OP.
Sorry just wanted to know if anyone know of any decent compressor for 4x4 adventure? any recommendations would be great…

If you're on a budget, those <$99 150L/min ebay ones are pretty good value for the occassional off roader. I have used these before as well as the more expensive Projecta Typhoon which these are a knock off. I now use an ARB CKMA12 and it pumps up tyres much faster. But they cost over $300. TJM also have one which is about $200. There's also a Pro flow Dr Air which won a recent 4WD action comparo

      • thank you very much amts…

  • Thats the best price I've ever seen on these. I got mine for about $230 during an SCA sale

Those comparing these to TRED… just get these. I compared the two up close, and these were much better thought out.

  • why wouldn't you make your own out of marine ply and screwed down blocks of wood for grip on each side?

    • thats interesting… it might work! have you tried this? wonder how it will handle the weight?

You know sometimes you try to save money by building something like this and at the end pay a lot more for repairing any damages caused by it

    • i thought of that as well, i would add strips of thin metal that would bend but stop the wood from cracking as well

  • Contrary to what soft-roaders say, experienced off-roaders will know there are lots of situations where these will be very useful, so I don't need to explain here. However, I do find the price a bit steep, even on special. They ought to be around $100 max for the pair. As an alternative, I've used 1.2m long 200x50mm wood with grooves routed into it (for traction) to great effect, strong enough to bridge holes too and only about $20.

  • Looks like its expired. They've pulled Maxtrax off their website :(

  • Disappeared off their site. Typical of Australian Anti Corruption BS!

  • Went into the Marion, SA store this morning and was informed that the sale finished on Sunday (despite me saying that they were still this price on the website at least yesterday) and that every Adelaide shop had sold out anyway.
The staff in the store were also very rude to me, I had been put off rays after a previous [very] bad experience with them, they certainly have not reinstalled my faith in them.
Also product has been removed from their website.

Deal should be marked as expired.
