Not valid in WA & SA; Ikea is owned separately in those states.

  • Sssshhh! don't tell everyone.

Ikea have appalling stock levels, deals like this usually sell out and you can't put them on hold before you drive all the way to the store. Checked stock online previously, but when I got there (even at openning time??) they were sold out. Or one time the excuse was they were up too high an they were not allowed to get stock down during opening hours.

Great deal - Hopefully they can handle being OzBargained.

    • Go in the day before and hide the stock you want

I reckon it'd be pretty hard to slip an entire bed out of sight…

        • +2

Put it with some other expensive ones. No one gonna touch them anyway.

        • Much prefer if i was pretty hard to entirely slip it out of sight while in bed. :)

Another WA & SA excluded ikea sale :(

It will always be like this because the WA and SA stores are Franchised stores wheras the Eastern States are Ikea owned. (as pointed out by puffinfresh)
That's also why we tend to pay more for exactly the same item (very occasionally we pay less).

      • Harvey Norman stores are also franchised yet they have nationwide specials

        • But you can't claim a HN special at Myer

Ikea Eastern States and Ikea Western States are more equivalent to HN vs Myer. They're 2 completely different companies with no agreements between them.
They're probably not so much Franchises as "licensed" stores. I don't know what the arrangement is legally, but I do know they are owned by different companies.

You sometimes do find that Ikea WA and Ikea SA have the same specials.

I remember buying a double or queen bed frame for $49
the middle part/leg broke after few months of use……
and the Sultan mattress, NEVER again will get any Ikea mattress! NEVER!!

'Broke the middle part of the bed'… showing off?

      • OR they over used the free Whopper deal from last year ;-)

My experience is quite the contrary.

My two 20+ year old frames are still going strong despite the slats are now a bit tatty and needs to be turned upside down to get a bit of support.

I can't disagree with you how crap heir mattresses are, however.

      • Everytime I try to pronounce 'slats' it comes out sounding like something else.

  • Their slat beds are awful, I sat on one and one of the slats broke. I don't weight that much…

I picked up the bed to move it and the middle support beam broke. So now it has a broken slat and a broken middle beam. It is only 1.5 years old. The spring mattresses dig the odd spring into your back. For $200-$300 its not really worth it.

  • Grab a bed frame, a double ($10) and 2 single cover sets, thx!

  • Ikea Springvale sold 400+ of the $5 quilt covers when the special started, so they were out of stock on the weekend. They had more stock today but there was only a dozen or so left when I got some tonight.

  • Hi guys, anyone know how heavy the bed frame is? thinking of getting 2 but don't have a car. Reckon I can carry them both onto a tram?
