Largest purchase using multiple payments on ING PayWave?

What is your largest largest purchase using the ING paywave card (with 5% cashback) spread over multiple payments but on the same receipt? I've spent $270 over 3 subsequent payments at Costco.

Has anyone cracked the $500 mark?

Paid my wife's Uni fee over $4,000. I heard they've blocked this so probably won't be able to do it again for next term.

    • well done! who blocked it and how?

      • Haven't tried it again so don't know for sure, but heard another guy who paid over 40k bills and etc (for his business of course) got a phone call from ING, warning him if he do it any more the card will be cancelled. And a couple week later other people on a forum report that the cashback was limited to "daily purchase".

So it seems ING has an eye on these suspicious $99.99 transactions that occur on the same EFT machine/short time frame. But I will try to pay next semester's fee in the same way in mid-June, the promotion is finishing so there won't be any difference even they cancel my card for doing this.

        • Do you know if they clawed back the cashback or just cancelled it for future transactions?

        • No idea. But I don't think they can take the money out of your account.

  • They can't it is illegal.
