"$329 less a further 10% with coupon code OZBARGAIN"

The "less a further 10%" implies that the $329 is already a discounted price. From what I can see, it is the standard price. Is so then the words "a further" should be removed.

      jdr

The $329 is already a reduced price due to us getting a number of jobs to shoot and sharing out the airtime charge between all rather than the total airtime charge for going out to shoot a single site .

However I have removed that text as I can see the reason for your post

      Thanks

this sure beats gettng up on my roof to check whether my gutters need cleaning…

  • Google Earth?

    • +2

      giggles

Yes, Google earth is great and free but if you look at the galleries on our site and even download a sample shoot you will see the vast difference.

We circle a property at low level and shoot close up of the buildings from all directions then wider angle showing the subject in the foreground and the surrounding area in the background.
Google earth shots are low resolution when close up and only show roof tops.

This is also shot to order so will be up to date. Google earth images are usually years old.

      Thanks

is a yearly subscription to nearmap.com not cheaper? and its updated around 3-4 times a year? sometimes more?

    So the deal is $296.10?

    • berger

Nearmap while a good service are rooftops only . Our Oblique photos show the sides of buildings with a foreground and background and give a much more appealing 3D look.

      Thanks

Pretty sure nearmap has angle photos too, last time I was able to login without the paywall.

Quite possibly but probably capital cities only . Have a look at there coverage map and they only shoot the metro areas monthly.
The photos they provide are from a blanket shoot and don't focus on a particular property from all directions.
Feel free to download a sample of a recent shoot from http://aerialimpressions.com/PDFgallery.htm

The samples are in full resolution and are a complete unedited example of what we do.

          Cheers

        • When Nearmap was free I (know someone who) saved all of the different date photos of a Brisbane property of particular interest. Quality of shots varies a lot. On some dates a poorly stitched line runs through the edge of the property - leaving some neighbouring houses out of place in the middle of the street.

Some dates had a bit of an angle - but only because they were on the lens periphery of that particular fly-over, not because they were trying to take angle shots. I wouldn't say they deliberately had angle-shots.

I love the Nearmap facility - much better clarity than google Earth. Especially useful for me because I live close to the river and so could later review the stages of the 2011 floods to see how far the flood waters spread across Brisbane - and also I could see before and after shots of my roof-tiles for heavy hail-damage from the 17 Nov 2012 storm. The quality of shots of the same area from different dates varies a lot given different lighting conditions.

This product would appear to be different - customised and presumably better quality. So it will depend on what your needs are. Nearmap's archive of aerial photos may meet the needs of some who don't need a customised high quality product. So price on this looks good - and smart to aggregate expenses. Will be interesting to see how drones or rfc-mini-helicopter-cams affect this market in days ahead.

  • do you do aerial video?

    • iitime

No sorry not at this time . It is something we are planning to expand into next year

Throw a GoPro up in the air! (like you just don't care)

  • How come the gallery samples on the website appear to be in the USA or Europe?
Surely a ridgy didge Australian company would be using Australian images?

    • Davros

We also shoot in the UK and USA so some of the samples may be in those countries

      Cheers

  • Yeah, I must say, like berger, I think I'd be going the Nearmap route!
Was very disappointed when they stopped the free service!
