D-Link adds Dick Smith in the Stores Excluded from the DIR-865L $100 Cashback promo

Seems that Dlink has excluded dick smith from its cash back offer and modified the terms and conditions

Limit 1 per person per household only. Excludes Officeworks, Dick Smith, E-Bay & Unauthorised E-Tailers, applicable to all other retailers and channel and cannot coincide with any other offers

Did dick smith contact Dlink or did a Dlink ozbargainer (employee) see the deal thread and decide to ruin it for all of us?

They even covered themselves in the terms and conditions

D-Link reserves the right to change or terminate this offer at any time without prior notice. All decisions made by D-Link are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Does this invalidate all the claims or just the new claims after the T&C were modified.

Looks to me like it invalidates all claims unless a Lawyer says otherwise…
Seems like a bait and switch to me, but perhaps cashbacks are a loophole in that legislation?

From the Terms and Conditions I printed out yesterday:

    1. D-Link reserves the right to change or terminate this offer at any time without prior notice. All
decisions made by D-Link are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

look at it like this… you bought the fastest router you can buy on earth… for $84.50!

      yeah those unlucky bastards…

      • Look at it like this .you bought the fastest router ( in theory ) but probably wont see any real world gains for $84.50

  • from http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/102502?page=5

Here is the reply from D-Link via email: "This new Ts and Cs only applicable for any purchases from 10/5 onward".

    • Craziness!
For starters, I doubt any DSE has stock anyway and even if they do, DSE have increased the price!
(probably also trying to scare claimaints away)

Definitely send through the claim by Registered Post, so you have evidence of their receipt of your claim!

The 10/5 date appears on the updated claim form (http://www.dlink.com.au/productregistration/redemption.aspx?…)

Limit 1 per person per household only. Excludes Officeworks, Dick Smith, E-Bay & Unauthorised E-Tailers, applicable to all other retailers and channel and cannot coincide with any other offers. DIR-865L purchases from Dick Smith after 10/5/2013 10am AEST will not be eligible for this offer.

  • Sound like Dick Smith are getting the cashback which is why they are able to sell it for so cheap

DIR-865L purchases from Dick Smith after 10/5/2013 10am AEST will not be eligible for this offer.

Everyone who got one would have actually paid for it on the 8th or 9th (Dick Smith Click and Collect only hold items for 24 hours)

  • I bought it yesterday, so yeah I am sweet too. Going to registered mail the claim form tomorrow :D.
