  • How limited?

    • +9

you only get 45 out of 52 cards

      • FYI: Full deck of cards. 52 not 54 as jokers are generally not included.

        • +1

          No love for 500 players…

        • +5

you'd need quite a few decks to be spread amongst 500 players…

    • +1

Very. There was less than 80 clicks when I checked, and it was already sold out.

  • -8

Marked as expired. All gone. Sorry folks

    • +1

that was quick…how many were available?!

      • +2

3 minutes worth, probably 1 of each style.

    • +1

Never had any resonable quantities available!

  • +1

All gone in 3 minutes, not even time to fill in my details in checkout.

  • "The coupon code you entered has already expired so it can't be used."

  • thanks got one

  • wow that was quick. managed to get a deck.

  • Got one, thanks :)

  • expired. not enough quantity to be a deal.

  • +2

-ve this because not enough quantity…

sold out in 3 minutes is proof this was just for SPAM

    • +2

      Totally agree, spam

    • -6

I assure you the deal was legit and I will be sending these decks out.

      • +4

Deals without sufficient quantity are against posting rules…

        • You haven't even asked the rep how many we're available yet…

        • -2

          how many we're available yet…

if it sold out within 3 minutes, it was insufficient…

        • this site does get a LOT of hits…

      • +3

and I will be sending these decks out.

It should only take about 3 minutes to post them all… :)

  • +7

Last time I got decked that quickly was when I mouthed off to a nightclub bouncer in King Street

    • -1

at least it wasn't Queen St

  • +2

    Limited Quantity = Limited reputation

If your deal has limited quantity, please mention it in the description. If the quantity is too small then your deal may be removed. As a guideline, less than 10 quantity of items is not enough for a deal unless the item has a high price.

    • If your deal has limited quantity, please mention it in the description

Agreed, it would have been helpful if OP had specified the number of decks available. In future, please feel free report the deal if the quantity is not specified.

      • +2

Thanks for the feedback Mod. Could have saved a lot of pain on this occasion….

  • +3

That was a waste of time

  • Seems legit.

  • to the REP - can I suggest you offer your 15 card trial/sample packs for free or close to free?

Disclaimer - (I just bought one for $1.50)

  • +3

to all the people handing out negs, 3 minutes could have been 50 sets etc..

i don't know, work for, etc.. the OP, but he posted a previous deal, people gave him a hard time about them being too expensive, so he gives some away for free and gets negged?

Sellers simply won't post stuff if people get bitter about missing out.

    • -6

3 minutes could have been 50 sets

if it sold out in 3 minutes, it was insufficient…

if all the deals posted here only lasted a couple of minutes, most people wouldn't bother with Ozbargain…

      • +9

What an asinine comment, just because something sells out quickly doesn't mean it's insufficient.

There are times when deals hit over 1000 hits in under an hour, do you really expect everyone giving things away to have hundreds or thousands available?

        • Although you're technically correct, there's no need for such hyperbole. Everything has to be judged on a case-by-case basis. In this case there obviously wasn't over 1000 hits and judging from the admission below that "There were more than 10 as per the guidelines. We dont run with a lot of stock being a startup business trying to get the name out there. Take of that what you will" it sounds like there were very close to 10 decks and this is essentially bait advertising.

What an asinine comment, just because something sells out quickly doesn't mean it's insufficient.

it is if it sells out in 3 minutes…

      • I'd rather a seller post a limited quantity - say 20, 40, 50 etc.. than not at all

        • then they should post the quantity, so people can decide whether they want to bother trying to get one…

        • Yes I totally agree on this point. As the Mod pointed out, we should have titled how many were up for grabs. Rookie mistake.

  • -1

Wow a whole 3 decks. Anyone taking bets on Australia Post managing to loose these decks?
Still pretty cheap advertising for the rep

    • All my buyers are contacted afterwards to ensure they received their goods, and yes, AusPost has legitimately lost the product before and our customers can vouch for our excellent customer service.

  • +6

Thank you all for your comments both positive and (mostly) negative, they did go a lot quicker than anticipated and we misjudged just how quick they were going to go given its a fairly niche product. We know a lot of people are upset that they missed their freebie and we are sorry for this.

To make up for it, the next deal that we offer up on OzBargain will be a 50% off special. This will happen once the new stock arrives in the next few weeks and the coupon will be active for a month or until we sell out (>150 decks of cards).

    • +4

just a fair word of warning. don't try to pull another cotd deal. or very soon you will see mobs descending on every of your post. there is a reason why most members here hates cotd deals with a passion and it's 'deals' like these types.

    • +1

rep - could you please respond to my earlier question above (and the question on most people's minds) -
how many decks did you actually have available?

Did you actually have more than 10 as per posting guidelines?

      • +1

There were more than 10 as per the guidelines. We dont run with a lot of stock being a startup business trying to get the name out there. Take of that what you will.

        • -8

I find it hard believing this. Can you post the names of the lucky winners so we can verify your claims?

        • +9

Its called the privacy act. Cant and wont!

        • +3

This isn't a good way to get your name out there.

This is basically bait advertising. Taken from the ACCC website-
"Bait advertising occurs when a business advertises or offers goods for sale, knowing that it cannot supply them in reasonable quantities for a reasonable period of time."

Just because it's free isn't necessarily an excuse. The intention is the same.

        • -2

Ahahah I knew you would say something like that. It does not come under the privacy act. I was not asking for personal information such as addresses, date of births or contact numbers.
You are allowed to announce the winners names especially as you are asking for people to upload the photos.
Of course if there was not 10 winners I guess its impossible to do.

        • +1

OMG - your name does count as personal information. A company can't disclose any of your details unless expressed permission is given. ie - why do you think lottery winners are given the option to remain anonymous?

I can however see that this really bothers you so I'll go out of my way and give you the ten names in no particular order. I used my l33t skills to get this information so please don't tell anyone…

Tom Smith - Jenny Wong - Peter Sanchez - John Doe - Carrie Hepburn - Lisa Simpson - David Lee Roth - Lee Ho - Tyler Widget - Wayne Newton

Now you can rest easy tonight knowing everything was above board. :)

        • You are allowed to announce the winners names

          It's not a competition…. (I think…)

        • Tony Gillard didn't get a mention? aww.

  • +4

The deal was posted by the rep, and marked as "expired" five minutes later. Only 3 posters on the thread managed to secure a free pack.

There would have only been 5 or 10 packs available, in my opinion. No deal.

    • there were liek 50 clicks after 5 mins

      • It sold out in 3 minutes though… I doubt they had more than 1 or 2 of each style…

  • +5

OZ BARGAINED BEFORE EVEN ON OZBARGAIN

  • Weak.

    • thats me all right

  • +3

a clear grab for website visits….not cool.

  • First of all, I have nothing to do with these guys.

    Sec

    • dude where's my car

      • +8

I'm typing on my iPhone, it dropped the keyboard and I hit post…. Hate it when that happens.

Secondly all those that are having a hissy fit about this needs to take a spoonful of htfu powder. The rep has made him/her self available to answer questions, has marked the deal as expired as soon as it was finished and has stated that there was more than 10 available.

Your going the right way to driving away someone who has just offered you something for nothing.

        • -1

who has just offered you something for nothing

with pretty much zero chance of getting one… it was just free advertising and a waste of time…

        • You forgot to mention 3 minutes this time. You may need a triple dose of the aforementioned harden the $*^¥ up powder.

        • or you may need said powder for your iphone and grip.

  • +9

wow…. free product…. free shipping…. yet still not good enough

    What have we become…

  • -2

They were on their way to the bin anyway.

  • +5

Everyone negging this should just chill out!!!

  • +1

jeez there is a few people in this thread who clearly overdue for a root

    • yeah, but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas
