  • I get $482 delivered not $454..Anyways still a good deal, will snag this up sometime in the coming weeks :D

  • Sorry, that's in USD, the amazon converter makes it to $482 which isn't a good rate. I would stick with the USD on checkout and you would get around $465-470 depending on your credit card.

Still feel like the AUD was over parity few weeks ago, now is 98c.

  • PC case gear have it for $530

For an extra $50 - $60, it might be worth buying to locally just for the ease of warranty.
If it die's, then you send it back to the retailer and they deal with the supplier for warranty.
If you but it from Amazon, you may need to send it back to their RMA centre in china and set you back postage > $40 +

Their is a MSI distributor locally that deal with local RMA's but from my experience, if you buy it from overseas they wont touch it.

Not really sure about amazon warranty policy, but when I bought a SSD years back and they replaced it with a new one because it was damaged in transit, they reimbursed the return shipping cost and also refunded the price difference as the price has gone down by the time the item arrived.
This all done through 15 mins chat from their 24h chat service.

I would assume if any item breaks within warranty they might do the same process.

mwave has a much better deal going on, AUD 439,- plus delivery or pickup.

what makes this even better is that you can actually flash current GTX680 models to GTX770 (higher clocks) using the firmware provided here
    https://anonfiles.com/file/679a9d632b00d87ca24b5ecf8c965c2a

maybe someone wants to put this up as a seperate deal (i just registered today and cant post deals yet)

    • This asus deal was posted twice from different stores:

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/103625
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/103875

And it has 3 slots (might block your other pci slot) and makes it hard for SLI in smaller case.

Btw, does 680 flash to 770 or 780? does nvidia slightly change the numbering for 700s?

      • It flashes to 770; 780 is actually a cut down version of titan, which is a completely different architecture:

"the GTX 780, based on Nvidia 28nm GK110 GPU, packs 2304 CUDA cores and works at 863MHz base GPU clock. It feature Nvidia's GPU Boost 2.0 that takes it up to 900MHz for the GPU. It will feature 3GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 6000MHz and paired up with a 384-bit memory interface. The GTX 780 needs 6+8-pin PCI-Express power connectors and has 250W TDP. It comes with two DL-DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs." (c) fudzilla

Just so you know, that BIOS hasn't been confirmed as real. It's very easy to just mod the Device ID of hardware to say GTX 770, and the clocks it ups to are generally considered 'safe' anyway.

EDIT: To the person above, there are very strong rumors saying the 770 will be a slightly tweaked and up-clocked 680, whereas the 780 will be closer to the Titan, but not as powerful. Either way, I'd recommend just waiting for the announcement later this week, the prices of the 600 series will go down because people will generally want the newer cards even if they are just rebranded.

    • The very same item cost $150 more:

      http://www.mwave.com.au/product/sku-aa77630-msi_geforce_gtx_…

Warranty dealing with mwave won't make much difference with amazon as you have to ship it back to the manufacturer. While amazon might pay for the return shipping, mwave won't do that for sure. So not worth $150.

      • actually I just had my ssd replaced unter warranty and mwave paid for all shipping cost

        • hmm, good to hear, might buy from them someday.

It's actually $454 AUD too (before currency conversion fee) since the AUD is on exact parity with the USD at the moment according XE currency converter. And that's as long as you switch the currency on the Amazon order to USD instead of using the Amazon currency converter. You always get slightly better currency conversion fee rate off your banks own rate instead of Amazons.

  • amazon does not have option for paypal??

    • lol, they're bit behind from hellstra:)
