Yamaha EPH-100 in-Ear Headphones, $99+Delivery

50

Hi all,
I've been looking for the best in-ear headphones at a reasonable price, I have come across this Yamaha EPH-100 model. They retail around $150 (Amazon, eBay), I have found them in a local shop in Victoria for $99 (+ delivery if you can't pick up in person). Deal worth sharing, I think.

In terms of quality, the best IEMs I have ever owned (previously CX300II, CX400, Klipsch S4i), indeed well balanced tone, very good isolation and despite their funny look, very comfortable to wear. Positive reviews all around, stand good against strong models like JVC HA-FX700 or Sennheiser IE8, check it out:

"…Yamaha EPH-100 (which retail for around $150 online) are worth the extra bucks, and have become our new favorite in-ear headphone priced under $300"

I owned a pair of these yamahas. Then I got a pair of sony xba3 from an earlier post on ozbargain. Massive difference in terms of the detail in general. The xba3 has much more convincing bass and more detailed mids. I must admit the yamahas do have better treble than the sony. Overall the sony is still much better price to performance ratio.

    • I own both. J cables annoy me (Sony seems to love them). So even though I prefer the xba3s as well, I still grab the Yamahas simply because of the cable on occasion.

      • Pretty sure I'm the only person who likes the j-cable

  • I bought a pair of the Yamaha EPH-100 due to the 'hype' on headfi.org. Have not liked them at all and don't use them.
