  • What's the deal with graphics cards at the moment?

Are the next generation cards due for release?

    • yes

    • Tempting though isn't it?

      -Edit-

Unless I'm mistaken only Nvidia are bringing out new graphic cards now, AMD is end of 2013 to early 2014. AMD's 8000 series is a re-branding of the 7000 series. So if you are an AMD fan, this card will be part of their top tier to the end of this year at least.

  • This would go well with the budget pc deal I suppose?

    • budget PC doesn't come with good power supply…..

Got one for a dollar more from umart a few months back, they still have them at $286 for pickup… the usual requirement by ATI of needing active display-port adapters to work with multiple monitors kind of killed the price saving over Nvidia a bit though… decent power for the $ though.

  • Not all that great. Umart has this for the same price and they charge $11 for shipping. So unless your ordering more than one, its a saving of $5 on a $300 purchase..around 2%

  • 50% shipping is advertised as being for orders over $300 and with two items.. so this doesn't qualify by itself as far as I can tell?

Was interested, but I want something quiet and this is the stock version from what I can tell.. the Powercolour PCS+ version is better but costs more, or the gigabyte version with triple fan and is OC as well is only $319.

    • They advertised 50% off shipping for this item

  • Funny to think you purchase 2 of these for crossfire purposes and have better performance than the top tier graphics cards, you'd also save a lot of money. You'd also probably spend a lot of time fiddling with drivers, or so I've read.

You probably could also sell the games for some cash back. I assume you can anyway.

Sure, except you'd end up dealing with microstutter and you'd find that games magically wont look as good as they do on single gpu configurations.

FYI 690 and 7990 are not single gpu configurations.

Stick to the 1.5gb version fab <3 i hear less gb is better.

      • Do the 690 and the 7990 have micro stutter?

  • This deal also includes Blood Dragon, anyone who gets the Never Settle Reloaded Package can get Blood Dragon.

  • How much better is this card than the Sapphire 7870 XT Boost? Enough to warrant an extra $40?

    • +1

This card is also slightly faster than a standard 7950. I bought one from uMart yesterday after reading a post here and over clocked it by a good margin without any voltage increases. So it's a good buy I think. Now to sell 3 game keys and my old card.

      • I wonder how much those games would sell for since there'd be a massive influx of them due to the amount of people buying AMD cards

        • +1

Yeah, not very much. I bought all 3 of the games as well. Probably can get $25 to $30 total. Better than a kick in the teeth, though I'd rather gift them.
