    I paid that much for the sigma 10-20mm second-hand (a few ago now though). I can vouch for it, awesome lens for the money.

    I can also vouch for these guys, fast delivery and good after-sale service. Purchased a manfrotto head from them, it was missing a handle and they fixed it up promptly.

    In July you need to run a good special of 5D mk III's… once everyone has their tax money back =)

        Agreed, it is an awesome lens, so freakin sharp wide-open…thought I was already getting a good deal when I paid about $820-odd for it 2 months ago from these guys, guess I should've waited 2 more months for it…ah well, you win some, you lose some…

      i heard that sigma's lens quality had improved "significantly". however, i still notice some negative reviews about this lens (35/1.4). maybe it is safer to get a local (in my case, sydney) stock through CR K in case i need to return or repair the lens? any ideas?

      i do want to buy a 1.4 for my d800.

        Absolutely buy local stock, it's even cheaper than buying it grey right now, and you'll get 2 years CR Kennedy warranty…
        DCXPERT is currently selling their local stock for $749 + $8 shipping, maybe you can get camerasdirect to price-match it?? ;D

          But I thought all warranty issues is handled by CR Kennedy, so you'll just take it directly to them should any problems arise?? So it shouldn't really matter where you get it from, as long as it is local stock with CR Kennedy warranty, right?

      The new 35mm f/1.4 is much sharper, has better contrast, a much higher quality build and it is compatible with the new software and docking station.

      It's just better all round.

    I am not a very good tech person in cameras, I wanted to by canon mount lense but I am not sure which lense is good for my cannon 550D (full effective for the money) EF-S or EF. can someone of you please breifly explain what EF-S and EF is? really appreciate your valuable information thanks :)

      Hey TechVisar,

      EF and EF-S are different sort of mounts. Put simply, your camera being a crop sensor will take EF and EF-S lenses, however, if you had a full frame camera such as the Canon 5D/6D, then you would have to use EF lenses.
