Now that Xbox One has no online check-in and no used game DRM, best deal?

As per subject, where's the best deal for a day one console? I bought a game from EB the other day and they were pushing me like crazy to drop $50 on one of the consoles but surely they are nowhere near the best deal.

Anyone seen any good deals?

  • They may not be the best deals, they will of course price match the console (though not a bundle that they don't already sell)

  • Re: XBone - The big brother stuff is still there, i.e. always on video and mic…

Also, if they've already have a production line on the hardware, I would think it is too late to change it, so likely they're merely "disabling" it for now with a future "update" to enable it. Speculation on my part of course.

In any case, you'd want to know the game lineup as well, which at this point is a little to early.

  • HAHAHA they went back on their policies! Everyone knew they would but they did it so early that MS were surely being beat in preorders.

    • Yeah I totally have no respect for this mob now just for trying to pull this crap. They won't get a cent out of me this generation. I bought 5 360's over the the last 7 years or so.

      • Somehow I think you'll give Microsoft some kind of money over the next decade. ;)

  • 1: Expect this to come back before the end of the product life cycle. It is just a temporary set back for MS.

2: There is no point ordering anything this far out. Wait and see what happens.

      1. Expect Sony to do the same.
      2. Could not agree more.
  • Too late for me as I have made up my mind.

To change their mind after being dragged and skinned alive after Jimmy Fallon show and E3 rupturous response to PS4's announcement, they should be ashamed to be introducing it in the first place.

Should've taken a good look at EA and their DRM-mad obsession.

  • Xbox 360 fans are jumping ship to the ps4 to a level I have never witnessed in 25 years of gaming. That is worth taking note of.

  • So no deals? I found JB is $1 cheaper…

I'm about to acquire $40k of Harvey Norman vouchers and to turn that into cash im going to preorder 36 PS4 and 34 Xbox one's which = $39990. So i can give 5% off the preorder price of Harvey Norman which then is Ps4 $520 and xbox $567. Anyone interested here? Im in bayswater victoria but can do delivery.

      • Sounds interesting, if it were 10% you'd have quite a few takers.. Warranty wouldn't be too much of an issue with a day 1 console.. It's pretty obvious you didn't buy it any earlier =)

      • how did you get 40K in vouchers :O

      • I'd take you up on your offer, but unfortunately am in NSW, not far from Sydney.

        Bugger.

5% off is not going to generate a heap of interest I don't think. People are more likely to pay the extra $25 by taking the zero risk option and buy from their local retailer. I'm guessing you are planning to pay somewhere around $25-$28,000 for $40,000 worth of vouchers, so you might want to consider selling them 10% under RRP. Still make yourself $8-$11,000 and you will move them much faster. Selling 70 consoles is going to be a shit-ton of work though.

was going to offer 5% off if you just put a deposit down with me or 10% off if you pay upfront..

But yeah payed 29k for them so would be happy with 8k profit minus a free PS4 for me.

If anyone was near Knox city or Ringwood Harvey Normans i would give them an individual receipt so they can pick it up on the day if they payed upfront.

        • That's actually a really good idea - good incentive to pay upfront. Shame you're not in Brisbane - I'd be getting one of both off you! Best of luck with your entrepreneurial endeavour! :)

        • I live in Bayswater too, please do a reminder to us of this deal as with 10% with payment upfront, you'll have quite a few takers - including me.

  • Ebay.. guy in Queensland won 50k and used one but wanted to sell the four other 10k vouchers

    • What?
      Never mind, just read above.
