Sony Bloggie Touch 8GB Factory Refurb - $51.90 Shipped

60

Sony Bloggie Touch 8GB (MHS-TS20) in assorted colours.
$49.95 plus shipping.
Factory Refurbished. Six-month warranty.
Good reviews, solid build, solid brand.
Can shoot in 1080 p30 but most people recommend shooting in 720 p60 for optimum smoothness.
Takes 12.8 MP still photos.
Image stabilisation. Quick boot. Macro autofocus.
Video quality compares well to iPhone 4 (for those of us who don't have one) but has a steadier image thanks to stabilisation the iPhone 4 does not have.
Not the latest technology but much lower than eBay price and good pocket camcorder to keep handy.
I couldn't get the 10 percent off coupon codes floating around for this website to work, maybe someone else could have better luck.

Update: Black is sold out. Still available in silver (linked)

Shipping for me to South Melbourne was only $1.95 but the website seems to jack up the shipping cost on linked queries. Try clearing your cache and re-entering the site manually if it tries to charge you 7.95 for shipping instead of 1.95, or try a different color once you're on the site. The shipping price will show the lower figure.

  • I usually capture spontaneous video of my toddler with my ageing iPhone 3GS but it is laggy and not great quality. I reckon this purchase will be a good, cheap pocket video upgrade until I trade up my phone at some point.

we just use our P&S camera…

      • +1

This will easily outperform p&s digital cameras anywhere near this price point on video capture quality

        • -5

probably, but many people already have a P&S at a higher price point that outperforms this device, so purchasing would be a waste of money…

no SD card support is a bit weird

The question should not be, does it suit what I need. The real question is - is it a bargain for that price considering market value? I'd say it is.

      I disagree

      • I understand you're not in the market for a pocket digital camcorder. For someone who is, however, this is substantially below global market value, let alone Australian stock and warranty market value.

        • this is substantially below global market value, let alone Australian stock and warranty market value.

Because it's second hand. What's the official global market value for used stock?

        • +1

You tell me where you can find factory refurb warrantied stock on this for same price or less and I'll take down my deal.
This price is cheaper than eBay used stock (unrefurbished) with no warranty.

it's refurbished for a reason… there was something wrong with it…

        • Obviously you've never lived in the united states. People return their purchased electronics on a whim. US return policies are incredibly generous. Most of these units were barely used if at all but cannot be sold as new. They've been tested and reconditioned. Dollars to doughnuts the screens on them are still covered in the protective film. Factory refurbs are usually as new.

        • There was http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/101603 at <$30, and there was no mention of refurb. I see the deal is marked as expired, but I did see stock at one store since I bought mine from this deal, not sure if the price has changed (Broadmeadows, Vic?).

        • Thanks for the tip! That is a better deal, if it's still available at that price somewhere.

  • Target had better value HD video recorders in last 2months for 50-70 bucks, but most of that stock is long gone.

I grabbed one of the bloggie duo cameras for my daughter for $28.83 at target, surprisingly good peice of kit for what it cost. my 7yo has made a heap of vids with it and it gets used every week or so. best part, for $30 I dont have to worry about her destroying our phones or dslrs.

      • I was thinking the same thing. While this costs a bit more, there is plenty of stock and it films better than a duo.

  • The code "welcome10" worked for me.

    • Not working for me now :(

the jitter is very annoying, waste of $49

  • Shipping to Postcode 2000 is $7.95

    • Try clearing your cache and re-entering the site.

      • Shipping to Adelaide also $7.95 (tried clearing cache)
EDIT: Happens only if you use "Go To Deal" link for silver one. If use blue one link you get the $1.95 shipping

  • Any 10% Coupons working guys ?

    • No, but the price for the item has actually dropped by more than 10% since the deal was posted. You can now get a pink one for $39.95 shipped or a silver one for a couple of dollars more. For some reason they haven't dropped the price of the blue.

For people who paid $51.90, try chatting with the company and asking for a "price protection" store credit for the price drop. You might get lucky.

It was a good value at $51.90 and an absolute no-brainer at $39.95 if you can stand the pink.

I received my refurbished Bloggie today. As expected it has factory seals on the pain cardboard box so this is a legit facctory refurb. It has protective film on the glass. It has no cosmetic blemishes whatsoever. Once again, a good deal.

    • Got mine too. Noticed that silver and pink are now $10 lower at $39.95.
