How's Banggood?

Just wanted to ask about any experience of purchases from the site in terms of clothing, how long was shipping? Customer service? How was the quality?

  • I bought this (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/101367) and it was okay quality. Only complaint about the product is that one of the pockets was made really poorly. In terms of the time taken for me to get the product, it was a tad long probably because they must have had a fair few orders.

Same here, didn't notice the pockets, but the product was probably not 100% of your expectation based on the photos. Having said that with the price paid, it is still a decent jacket, the material was quite thick, and feels OK. It came crammed in a bag so you might need to iron it out a bit, and there were a lot of loose threads/fluffs on the surface so need to use those sticky roller things to give it a brush. Overall the product was satisfactory.

  • I've ordered from them. They say that they'll supply free air post and a tracking number if your order exceeds a certain dollar amount. But the problem is that they then split your order up into individual items depending on whether they have stock. So nothing gets sent by airmail, you never receive any tracking number, and your items take forever to arrive.

To be fair, when the items did arrive I was indeed very happy with them.

Everything from Banggood (and most other China suppliers)is sent by airmail, but delivery takes up to 28days… which is "slow boat" speed in anybodies estimation.
I've bought 30 odd items from Banggood and the goods have always been as described… the sellers are generally very good to deal with and only the odd one difficult to communicate with. Only in one case did my item not arrive and I had the devils own job convincing them of it before they reluctantly gave a refund. I know some buyers will say they didn't get their item when they did get it (happened to me several times from my sales on eBay locally) and that's why China sellers usually send it by tracking/signature mail. Banggood are generally as good as DX, Alibaba, Buyincoins, Everbuying etc.
The only thing to remember about China sellers is they are not bound by the same manufacturing, safety or selling standards imposed on our Aussie sellers and most of the time, registered post costs for any returns are more than the article cost in the first place… so when the seller advertises "refunds upon return, he knows that will be a rare occurrence.

Having said that, our local sellers buy the same items from China (and elsewhere) in bulk and retail it for much more. With their high costs, backup and warranties they must give, that's probably understandable, but the "little" man has to weigh all this up and contend with the far lower prices from China.

I did that and I remain a buyer from China's big sites.

    • I've never bought anything from these Chinese sellers so naturally, would be a bit cautious, thanks for the responses so far.

From what I gather, shipping to Sydney would take around 1 month??

      • On average yes for me in SA its about 25 days, But On some occasions I have waited upto 6 weeks…
