  • Unlock for $5 on ebay

Anyone have prior experience with unlocking Telstra HTC phones using eBay unlock codes? Do they work or not.

    • Please provide the link. Thanks.

Based on the seller's feedback history, I can see at least 2 HTC One unlock codes that were positive and mentioned to be working.

        eg
"Unlocked worked" Unlock any Telstra HTC One S XL Desire C Velocity One m7 Unlocking Code Key Fast (#251219393209)

Anyway, this looks like a pretty good deal.

        • That would be me. Great service. They instantly sent (as per uk time) the codes and it worked. Yes i had to get it done twice (dont try to cut the sim card into micro sim card at home … fail!!).

        • why not? I cut my sim for a GS3, worked no problems…just need a microsim from a friends phone as a template and mark it out before cutting it…

        • A sim cutter is only $2 delivered on ebay.

    • can confirm it works.. got the code emailed pretty quick.

  • Great prices

  • Unlock codes ebay links updated in 1st Post.

  • Thanks. Bought the HTC One XL. If it can be unlocked for $5 bonus.

  • How much is delivery?

    • FREE. Delivery within 2 business days in metro areas, subject to stock availability.

      • thanks. Nice find op. Hmm tempting

  • Is the Iphone 4 8gb for $384 delivered an OK deal?

    • +1

No that is a terrible deal.

  • Does anyone think office works might price match?

    • Why should they? They offer unlocked phones and besides that the 8S is stated as online only

    About HTC One XL
    http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_xl-4572.php

    -none removable 1800mAh battery
    -no micro SD card slot
    -4.7" screen
=half a day life and only ~10GB for personal data

Crap phone even for that much.

    • So can you suggest a better 4G phone that is ~$350?

      • HTC 8X for $259 when its on again but only coz its cheap. Still crap battery.
Want a good phone = invest more money.
I got Samsung Note II 4G for my wife for ~$520 and it is worth it.
For now I am just saying this is a waste of money.

        • +2

$520 on a phone is a waste of money, all relative.

lol tell it to everyone who bought iphones or any other top end device
damn why comment if 0 brain activity

    • This phone does support HSPA+ dual channel. So you should be able to run it on 3G and still get good speeds and save battery life.

    • While no micro SD slot is bad, there is far more than 10gb free internal space on this 32gb phone. I owned one and from memory it's about 28gb free. Certainly more than 25gb. As for 4G battery life, it is much the same as other 2012 4G phones (GS3 4G, iPhone 5 etc.) and will last most people an entire day easily. No 4g phone, even this years models, will last a gen Y social media and gaming addict from sun up until late at night if they are using it heavily…

      • Samsung Note II more than a day of heavy use and that is just from my experience.

    • 1800mah battery is a bit of a deal killer. That's one of the reason I didn't complete checkout on the phone.

  • Just noticed bagman is offering $5 unlock codes for HTC phones http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/108145

I have purchased from bagman before and have never had any problems with his codes. Also very quick to respond.

  • Will HTC 8S work ok on Optus once unlocked….

    • Yes. That's why you have to unlock.

      • Not all phones are created equal, band frequencies can vary between models.

For example: One might not want to buy the HTC 8S if it wouldn't work on the "YesG" 900MHz 3G network.

    • No specs on Telstra site… but I googled and Telstra 8s' seem to be 850/2100 3G only which is not suitable for Optus
