PS Vita WiFi + 3G 4GB Memory Card + Sly Cooper $263 Delivered Harvey Norman

90

Found this deal online and bought it on Monday because I know how much of a pain Harvey can be sometimes with their deals. Recieved it today, so it's all legit. It's been cheaper before but this is an Aus Model + Game + 3G.

EDIT: Can Also get Little Big Planet or PlayStation All Stars.

It's scumbags like you that meant the failure lost third party support outside of Japan and why the vita is failing. Look at the 3DS it has not been cracked for 3ds games and there are great games coming out on a consistent basis. If you can't afford to buy games then just don't play them simple.

Scumbags like me aye? Im more interested in just the console as a hardware device more than its current gen gaming but more for its store of classic games.

Considering I own a number of consoles with a number of games I don't think you can puyt me in the category of 'buy cheap hardware and pirate everything'…

The reason the Vita is failing is the lack of games and the initial lack of support at a retail level for the console.

        • You know there are lots of handhelds you could get to play classic games on? The Vita also has access to most of the PSP library and a big ass pile of PSOne games from the PS Store. I bought Castlevania Symphony of the Night last night for $6, Metal Gear Solid is a similar price also, there's a pile of PSOne games on sale at the moment in fact.

You should just get an android handheld if you'r getting it for emulators.

    • Even on the forums where people are morally ambivalent to the issues that come with homebrew most PS homebrew addicts think at the moment you would be best updating with the current FW when it comes to the Vita. I think there are possibilities to have it on but then you won't be able to play vita games and access online content. This is of course conjecture because I don't have (and haven't had) any sort of homebrew/CFW on my Vita. Largely I am a supporter of homebrew and don't support those who hack the devices simply to play illegal copies of current games.

Think would be better to get a 2nd hand for 170-200 and the "PS Vita PlayStation Vita Mega Pack" from bigw/wherever (8 games and 8GB memory card).

Buying 2nd hand is a risk. Not necessarily better in my opinion.

Here a $5 code - Welcome5TCA6Y3AXUMKA. Won't be using it and meant to expire in 10 hours.

  • That's not a bad price at all.

For people considering a purchase of a 3G vita this deal and the EB package ($249 Vita 3G + LBP or All-stars) this deal is superior if you want a 4GB. However you may also want to consider purchasing the EB package and then purchasing a $42 8GB memory card from JB HI-FI (with games like Wipeout, Little Deviants and LBP) included. It totals to be $28 more expensive ($291) but the card is 8GB (not 4GB) and has added games. Of course you can buy the memory card on top of the $263 deal as well for a total of $305 (if you have the money). If you want to play the Sly Cooper game then obviously this is the deal for you. However if you want to play All Stars and don't have $300+ I would go to get EB's deal then add on a memory card from JB (the time I went to EB the 8GB was $45, it was $42 at JB less than five days ago when I went). I went for the All-stars game. In retrospect as I had the money I probably would've bought this deal and the 8GB card then sold the 4GB. But I probably would've only got $20-25 for the 4GB card (and the hassle of selling on eBay or Gumtree probably renders any $10 profit not worth it). EB could've price matched the 8GB card for me (and they mentioned that when I came back to the store after comparing it with JB's price for the combo card) but I get irritated with the onus being placed on the customer to assert competitive prices. So I shop if possible where the price is advertised, even if that means going out of my way for a relatively small gain (in this case $3). In this case I went to EB first (reserved the console and checked out the combo memory card price) went to JB to buy the combo card (as it was $3 cheaper) then went back to EB once I bought the card from JB to buy the console deal.

If you just want LBP and a console, purchase this combo with the Sly Cooper game (it may seem counter-intuitive but it makes sense; although the LBP is an option the resale on the SC game is superior) then sell both the game and memory card and purchase the 8GB deal (which includes LBP)

    • For people considering a purchase of a 3G vita this deal and the EB package ($249 Vita 3G + LBP or All-stars) this deal is superior if you want a 4GB.

      They have 4G for Vita?

      • 4GB Memory Card. 'This deal' referred to the deal the OP posted here. If you don't mind having a small memory card initially (4GB) or have plans to sell it the deal is superior. However I think most players would fill up a 4GB in a period of days. Even 8GB is small (especially when you load most of the games included in the JB/EB combo on it). A comma would've been handy after '3G vita' in that quoted section.

        • I really think Sony missed an opportunity to announce a redesigned and cheaper Vita. Also they should do a model with 4G, because 3G is quite slow. Don't even know if it's adequate for online gaming.
