Gym Prices around Australia

As suggested by Nato271, let's post our current gym contracts/prices so we can compare with who has the best deal, and also help new members get good deals. Hopefully this will bring more competitive prices for us.

  • Lifestyle @ Carlton, $299 for the year

    • Was there before but moved to Anytime at Hurstville

  • Derrimut $200 for a year.

    • website says $399 for a year?

  • we need a derrimut gym on the east side!

  • Gym: Fitness 24/7 Carlton North & Fitzroy (24 hour gym)
    Per Month Fee: $7.95/week ($34.45)
    Contract: 6 months

My gym bills in weekly increments so you'd have to calculate monthly the same way rent is calculated. (Weekly x 52) / 12. (52 being weeks in the year, 12 being months in a year).

EDIT: Looks like they have upfront plans $200 for 6 months ($33.33/month) or $349 for 12 months ($29.08/month).

  • UFC Gym Sydney: $30/week

    • +4

      WTF? You need an ozbargaintervention!

      • It's a fighting gym so it's different - my friend learnt Muy Thai in that gym iirc

  • Goodlife Mt Lawley
    Per week: $22 ($88/month)
No contract; pay as you go

  • Gym: anytime fitness Fairfield
    Price: $51.78
    12 month contract.

  • $130 per month for indoor pool, SOA machines and all the mod cons you would want… This is in Gold Coast, AU Fitness First

  • Goodlife Fitzroy $17.95/week
    No contract

  • Fitness First Glen Waverley
    $25 per fortnight
No contract, pay as you go

$30 per month for gym is pretty cheap, does that rate change after the initial contract?

    • Prepare to get an email soon from FF after your contract is up. What FF has been doing lately is bumping everyones rate to their retail rates less a discount based on the years of your membership. They even did this to all their existing founder members when most of these memebrs were promised no price increase.

      • I can confirm this. My $64/month Aus-wide Platinum Club membership is being significantly bumped up to $80/month. I considered it good value at the lower price due to the variety and quality of gyms, but not at the higher price.

  • +1

As a foundation member you can score good deal in most fitness centers. Jetts is around $7 per week. Anytime is little bit more.
I was about to join Jetts but came across Crunch and joined it instead for $4.99 per week plus some little maintenance fee. No contract deal.

  • I'm with Club Lime which is an ACT and Wollongong-based gym chain. I pay $36 a fortnight with no contract or joining/admin fee and can visit any Club Lime outlet including the Canberra International Sports and Aquatics Centre (aka CISAC) which has swimming pools (obviously) and spa/sauna.

    • Does that include use of the pool/sauna though?

  • Fivestar Thomastown
    24 Hours, 365 Days
    $3.30 every visit

  • Intersting. What about in the CBD (Sydney and Melbourne). I guess that has better chances for people to find common ground. So, people can go during lunch or after work. My wife goes to Fitness First which is roughly $20 every forthnight i think. Would love to know if there is anything cheaper than that.

  • Crunch Chatswood is having a $3 enrolment fee at the moment - to "celebrate their 3rd birthday"
That's pretty much as low as it gets for Crunch, not sure if its the same as the other crunchs.
