  • OMG.. Thats super cheap.

I believe it uses standard sim size, not mini-sim

    • +6

      Mini-sim = Standard Sim :)

    • +11

Mini-sim is the "standard" sim size. The original size sim cards were about the size of credit cards.

      • +1

yes…i remembered when back in the days when mobile phones are like a water bottle….it IS a credit card size simcard….

        crazy hey~~~

  • +1

Very good price for a pretty solid handset.

  • +10

    Awesome phone.
Great for someone who wants to get into the android world and wants the pure android experience.

  • +16

    Wasn't it $210 at Christmas?

    • +2

Surprised that only got 18 positives considering it was half a year ago (i.e. should be more expensive) and it was cheaper! Probably because it was too specific a location.

      • It only had 18 up votes partly because it was sold out early? Btw, +1 for klf23 good memory. Sorry i accidentally touched neg vote :-P

  • WOW!, But I'm waiting for the Lumia 925 :\ I don't want use Android again

      • -3

Why so many negs, W8 is great

        • +2

Yeah it is great but get over it this is not about lumia. And if nokia not making any profit soon it will move to android.

        • -3

Negs for offending ios and android fans.

        • +2

No. The negs are for supporting Microsoft s..t

        • -2

I have used a Lumia 920 and loved it. Had to go back to HTC one for the limitation with my favourite apps like Flipboard, meetup etc. But I can say for sure I miss the performance and ease of use on windows phone 8. No lag and a really nice experience. Here comes all the negs :)

  • +21

100 more and get the Nexus 4.

  • Is this a better buy or the LG 4x HD from Kogan?

    • +1

Depends what you're after. The Optimus has better specs, but the Nexus has a local warranty and will continue to get updated versions of android (either official or from the community) for a good few years.

      • Yeah LG doesn't have a good reputation for releasing new OS
I like the Galaxy Nexus (its also made by Samsung so maybe built quality is slightly better?)
However like other Nexus device - no SD card support :(

        • +1

In my experience Samsung = hi technology, not necessarily better build quality

    • +1

I have both the 4X and Gnex. It depends on your preference of android. If you like to customise and have specific needs i.e. custom roms and kernels, then the Gnex is your phone. However, if you don't mind giving up a bit of that (the 4x has an unlocked bootloader and CM10.1 and custom roms+kernels and started appearing) then get the 4X as it has better specs and dare I say a better IPS screen. Also, battery life is much better with the 4X.

  • +1

These are Quad band HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100 So they cover all 3 major networks.

You can flash it with Google rom (if it isn't already) & then you get OTA updates before anyone else direct from Google.
    I got one a year ago & it hasn't missed a beat.

    • +2

Hows the speed/latency on the device? I wouldn't mind picking one up for Android/Ubuntu/Firefox OS.

      • I'm on CM 10.1, it's a lot smoother than the GS3.

      • It's much quicker then my Asus transformer tablet, & has a lot more things running too.

  • Great phone, still happy with mine after a year.

Far better for viewing film/TV than the Nexus 4 in my opinion. The GNexus AMOLED screen produces much deeper blacks, whereas everything looks much whiter with the LG Nexus 4. Although that means the Nexus 4 is clearer during the day, so just take your pick.

    • +1

Also I find amoled is much better for reading in bed, I read white text on black background, and the slcd on th Lumia 920 doesn't handle that well at all with the brightness down, it makes the black look really washed out and the text hard to read, no such issue with amoled

  • Good Price for a good phone !

  • Quick question, OP states: HSDPA 850 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100
    Website states: 3G/HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100

Can anyone tell me which one it is?

Also how would this compare to a Galaxy S2 (dropped mine today and need me something to replace it…)

    Thanks.

    • +2

great phone. had this phone for ~15 months.

imho this phone is much better than s2.

      • no samsung bloatwares.
      • no micro sd slot.
      • Pity about the micro sd… another stupid question… does it allow the use of thumb drives via a usb/micro usb adapter?

        • +1

Yes (sort of) but you need to get "Nexus Media Importer"

        • you can choose to root the phone and uses the OTG cable.
          or
buy the Nexus Media Importer if you dont want to root.

        • +3

          Oh, I want to root!

        • +4

          Easy tiger

    • It has a larger and higher res 720p screen than the S2 but performance wise it will be quite similar.

      • Cheers, thanks.

    • it is HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100.

    • Definitely 3G/HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100

  • +1

I have one of these already… awesome phone! I am so tempted to buy another one at this price… hahaha!

And Adz81, i owned the GS2 and i traded it in for this. Never looked back. The true android experience on this phone is just awesome. Touchwiz is rubbish. At this price it's worth getting. It's cheaper than most crap prepaid phones…

    • I'd always thought the GS2 was fairly solid… I didn't seem to experience any problems with it and minimal boating (or so I thought, although perhaps i've not had the right experience to compare it to)

    • +1 for touchwiz is rubbish

  • This? or add another $100 and get a S3 3g?

    • +1

I'd be all over the S3 if the rep was prepared to do that for $380 ;)

  • is there any deal for samsung galaxy note 2 4g rep?

    • I'll be buying a Note 2 before I leave Sydney tomorrow night, if we can get a good deal I'll cab it out to Parramatta!

  • +4

Reasonable price, but with the Nexus 4 for $100 more (or only like $60 more if you're willing to settle with 8GB) it doesn't look so great anymore. Good phone, but very last gen with the dual core A9.

    • Trying to decide if the Nexus 4 8GB for +$60 is the way to go or just stick with a $280 deal with this one.

Its 2GB RAM is a huge temptation, the CPU is also superior though the rest doesn't grab my attention so much.

      • +2

2gb ram, way better CPU/GPU, better screen, better looks, better camera

      • +1

8GB memory sounds alright until you realize a fair chunk of it is taken by the OS and that there's no sd card slot, you will be constantly fighting with space and it's definitely worth getting the 16gb if you decide to get a Nexus 4.

    • Where to get Nexus 4 for $340? Google Play has it for $349+20 shipping = $369 which is about $90 more for the 8Gb model.

  • Hey rep, any deal on htc one 32/64 GB soon?
    Missed out the last ones

  • Hi rep, any deals on the Lumia 820?

      • +1

was hoping for $279 like last deal :) any chance the nexus code can be applied to the Lumia?

        • Hi ozscharfshutze

Thanks for your interested on Lumia 820 deal, need to get few more people in.

        • +1

Please count me in for a Lumia 820 at $279 or lesssss =)

  • My favorite phone…
    Prefer this over Nexus4

    • Any deal on the s3 rep ?

  • oh man what a bad time for this deal! I was just about to purchase another N4 as I broke mine :( but now I'm torn, should I get this instead and await the next crop of phones?
I am using my S2 and I notice it is laggy and slow compared to the N4 (though it was fast when it came out), I wonder if this Gnex will have similar performance to the S2 - any comments?

    • +1

gnex is a bit better specs than the S2 but the S2 has a nicer screen, the nexus looks washed out in comparison. You're probably best off flashing a custom rom that is close to stock (such as CM) on your S2 as touchwiz on that slowed it down quite a bit.

      • Actually the s2 has a far better GPU than the galaxy nexus. the mali400 annihilates the sgx530
S2 is still the superior phone spec wise. but the galaxy nexus has the 720p amoled display.

  • +1

Like a couple of others, I would also be super keen to get an S3 deal :) Any chance of this happening?

  • @Rep, how long is this deal valid for? My girlfriends dad is after a phone and want to point him towards it.

    • +1

      this deal ends 11:50pm 04/07/2013

  • Just got one, I assume the free shipping is the 3-7 days and not the express?

    Thanks Rep.

    • +1

      Hi Viscerus

Thanks for your order, We will try our best to dispatch your order tomorrow or latest Monday.

  • When will your galaxy s4 fall below $700 :(((

    • Will be soon :)

  • Nexus 4 would be better. Any chance? I have to get rid of my S3. Worst phone ever.

  • Just wondering what language options this phone would have, looking for Thai language pre-loaded? Anyone know?

  • HI Rep, this come with Android 4.0.1?

    • +1

I think it will be 4.0.1 but OTA updates will get you to 4.2.2 straight away

  • +1

    thanks i bought one.

  • +2

    hi rep,

    any deal for htc8x, thanks

    • +4

How many people interest on HTC 8x?

      • +3

We've already had heaps of deals on HTC. Is there something for Sony Xperia's?

        • Good suggestion, I will let you know soon!

        • I too am interested in a deal on Sony Xperia's, in particular the Xperia P in Red or Silver.

      • +1

perhaps only me? as i missed the last time, it said out of stock?

      • I would be keen to pick up a couple of them, missed out on the last lot of deals.

  • please extend date of this deal.i am running short of money today.:-(

    • Hi puri2390

    • Hi puri23390, I got one of these today as a surprise gift for my wife. She doesnt want it. Its absolutely brand new. Willing to sell for $220 if interested.

  • Can someone help me to understand how TRS works in this deal?

Lets say if I buy this mobile from mobileciti in 279 and buy items worth of 100$ from MYER. Will I get TRS (GST off @ airport?

    Thanks

    • +1

      From TRS website :

Travellers can submit more than one tax invoice to make their claim, as long as each is a valid tax invoice from the one Australian Business Number retailer and the total value of goods purchased is $300 or more (including GST).

So based on your question, the answer is NO :)

    • YOu will need to buy another item(s) to make it $300 or more (and in one tax invoice)

  • please extend it till tommorow.really need to buy one.

  • Hi rep,
