Five Fingers from Topbuy.com.au

Hi guys,

This is my first post so please excuse if I break any rules.

I recently bought Vibram Five fingers from a deal on Topbuy.com.au
When I received them 5 weeks after purchasing, I noticed spelling mistake on Shoe Box (BALCK instead of Black), uneven finish of the shoe and irregular length of velcro straps from one leg to other. I suspect them to be duplicate. When I contacted topbuy.com.au customer service, they are insisting that they are original and won't take them back on the basis they sold me replica. They will take them back as normal customer return where client pays for postage and restocking fee etc.
When I purchased them on their site, I had contacted CS and checked if they are original shoes as they were selling them for third the price of the retail price in Australia. They confirmed me twice that they are manufactured overseas but are original. But the product has all the signs of being an replica. Has anybody had similar experience with topbuy.com.au?
Can you inform any authority locally?

Thank you reading.
Deepdag.

    Try to Open PayPal dispute?
They once sold havianas thongs which weren't authentic as advertised, got refund back.

  • Thanks guys. I've opened a PayPal dispute.

  • lol, in my opinion, NOTHING from this place is authentic. Buyer beware !!!

  • I bought 4 of these. Some of them are exact models I have purchased from Vibram previously. Definitely not original. Sizing is wrong (the ones I purchased won't fit even though the other 8 pairs of Vibrams Five Fingers I own all fit fine), materials are different, much cheaper plastics. If anyone can supply me with a link to the original advertisement I am going to submit it to Vibram for fraud control.
