    This is really expensive considering its USB 2.0 and AC Powered. Thank you for the post anyway.

  • Cheap if you can pull it out and stick it in your PC - as long as you live in VIC and can pickup.

      It's a WD Caviar Green inside with a Sata to USB chip that's not soldered on… so yes you can.

      • It's an extra $20 to buy a Caviar Green internal. Up to you whether 3 years of warranty is worth $20 or not. IMO it is.

  • I believe that there is no 3.5" HDD (The External HDD which is bigger and requires a power brick to work), that cannot be disassembled.

    Only the 2.5" (The smaller laptop sized ones, which doesn't require a power brick) ones which possibly has the soldered USB chip.

  • And the picture is really misleading.. it shows the Micro USB 3.0 connection, rather than the USB 2.0…
