  • ah come on, I prefer to think before I act, share the wealth around;

Will a recent owner confirm GPS GNav & BT as all functioning pls. TY
    & also, USB charging?

Supposing these make a neat little gps, i shouldn't want to await an N7 discount.

    • Can Google maps be downloaded for offline use?
I know it can be done on Antroid phones, but I did not find the same option on this tablet.
      Have I missed something?

  • Yea I too would like to know what features are awol

    especially - Navigation.Goodle

Any one else confirm Aview + iView Netflix Hulu etc

    • Aview works great. ABC have stuffed up iView with the requirement for flash player 11.7 which is not available for android.

    • ABC the only to emerge or would other servers preclude support for legacy versions, or would aview resolve this all. (While some www need a VPN app too)

      _
The lack of 'GPS' on the dot points still looks conspicuous by its absence, so I do ask whether this tablet delivers '-Google Navigation-'.

        1. Legacy is fine if there is no suitable replacement.
        2. GPS works fine, but I have yet to try any turn by turn navigation with it yet.
    • @robotdad thanking you for your viewpoint with the Acer.

And yes, turn by turn navigation is what g-Nav system was for… but could just be more assuring if someone may just click on the app, icon called 'Navigation', jog around ur block & feed back- whether you feel Nav a robust app; taking in to account, street view and compass, ease with graphic rendering & so forth with the tab, Ta.

  • I bought this and while it still showed online stocks, I set it to pick-up and gave my bank details. But now they say they don't have it and they can't deliver it?

'In regards to your online pickup order for the Acer Iconia 8GB Tablet we’d just like to let you know that we currently do not have any of this model in stock and it doesn’t look like we’ll be able to get any more at this stage. We can cancel the order from our end for you if you’d like and you can come in to the store to see the range of tablets we do have in stock.'

    Anyone else have this problem?

    • +1

Yes, I bought one very early and nominated an in store pickup. Now the store has called and said there is no stock available. I assumed the online shop would send it to the store. I guess I should have gone for the free delivery.

  • I got my delivered today. Looks ok overall. Would be good for my kids.

  • They sent me the wrong tablet, I got a A1-810 instead. which is better and usually sells for $227. but i didnt get a tax invoice so can't claim the cashback.

    • It is double the amount. why do you worry about the cash-back now.

      • +1

Assumption: He/she wants to get the cash back and keep the A1 but if he/she email JB, they will send him/her the tax invoice for B1 which will void the cash back. Personally, you have got a $199 tablet for $98 and you should be happy for it and forget about the $29 cash which you are not entitled to anyways.

        • Yeah, i'm stoked. but the tablet was for my mum and she only wanted to spend the $69. but i can't really complain since I got a much better tablet.

        • +1

lol.. good call.. I have also got an A1. It is way better.

        • Log onto your JB online account. The tax invoice should be in "Order History".

        • But it wont match the tablet that they sent me.

        • +1

Well, if you want, I guess you could sell your A1. Give your mum $29 and keep the rest as profit. :-)

  • very bad experience. ordered online and asked me to pick up by phone.
    In fact sold out.

  • I placed my order online and picked up in store. I have printed my invoice from my order history but it has no ABN. Acer said the tax invoice must have an ABN. What are you guys doing to get around this?

    • +1

This is what is shown in my Tax Invocie.
      ABN No: 37-093-114-286
      Order ID: 8xxxxxx
      Order Date: 25 Jul 2013

      • Thanks, finally found it.

  • Went to JB on the off chance the deal might still be going.. Picked up last one demo of the display rack they took it back to 90$ because display model. They checked cash back still running. Geelong lucky all acer cash back details on box and invoice. Not bad for 61$. Display stock can be risky this one was pretty clean scratch free. Got to be lucky.

  • Yea I'm guessing >5000 of the 9000 clicks/here would feel empty, oh well another sixty dollars to put toward that ainol novo 10 advanced tablet(pending release) which seems the next real deal; IPS@1200p, but also with BT + GPS like this here acer. Expecting that will probably cost X3 this.

    • Any deal for Ainol for $130? There is big gamble for Ainol to work, as it is quite expensive to send back and claim the warranty.
Acer one works great, but display is horrible.

    • Not as I'm aware.
I mostly source parts international and, still to have a bad (first) experience from years of purchases regard doing so as the risk being low in general. As always, make sure I am satisfied with reviews/reputation, first before risking any losses.

      • Ainol have made some reputation internationally being so cheap and some quality. I like Hyundai and Ramos as well.
Will be waiting for Novo and see how are the responses. But my next one would be a 8" tablet or 11" windows 8 one.
