A few websites have confirmed that mSATA is infact SATA 3.
SATA 3 makes a big difference when your running a SSD.
1: mSata is part of the SATA 3.1 standard. It does not dictate that it must run at full SATA 3 speeds.
2: SATA 3 speeds make very little difference when you are running an SSD:

Much better things to spend your money/time on.
I would expect almost any intel laptop today to have SATA3, but most don't specify. It is a strange requirement in absense of anything else.
Also, are you aware than mSATA is only a form factor and does not mean that you will get SATA 3 speeds?
