Very few stores that actually have stock in Sydney metro area. Its like finding a needle in a hay stack.

    • very few stores nationwide going by the store locator

      • Even those few stores may not have any stock. Can't be bothered calling them myself but if anyone else does please update with results for the benefit of others.

        • Limited stock available?

          Penrith - unconfirmed
Fairy Meadow Newcastle - confirmed none available
          Coffs harbour - unconfirmed

        • Now confirmed none at Penrith and none at Coffs Harbour except for one sitting in repair. So basically this never existed at all.

    Out of stock

A search for this item at stores near 'Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia' shows that this item is not in stock at any store within 500 kilometres.

Found 3 stores in whole of aus says they have limited stock. Nothing else.

2 near sydney, 1 at coffs.

No stock in Perth or Melbourne metro.
Please don't post without confirmed stock >10 somewhere known.

    • None in Mandurah WA

  • No stock :(

My bad sorry. Saw it on mobile. Quickly posted it.

    • No worries. Good to see that price.

  • Is OfficeWorks now going the way of DSE advertising "Specials" but have almost no stocks to be found?

    • +3

It's a clearance product, you do understand that implies clearing the remaining (few) stock?

    • +2

Officeworks was doing this long before dick smith …

  • Aaah no stock left in VIC .. shame missed it.

  • None at the Fairy Meadow store even though it says on the website that limited stock is available.

Goodluck to whoever gets one of these. If you do manage to buy one of these somewhere at this price, make sure you buy a lotto ticket for tomorrow's draw (20 million).

    • FYI the guys at FM OW are as useful as tits on a bull. I went in one day to buy a $300 network drive that showed in stock on their website. There were none on the shelf and I asked two "IT" guys if they had any stock out the back and they said no, without even checking. My boss called up not 15 minutes later and they magically had this drive in stock. She picked it up the next morning. They are lazy and stand around chatting among themselves most of the time rather than helping customers. I've stopped buying big ticket items there. I'd rather spend $10-20 more than get screwed around by incompetent staff. >:|

      tl;dr:
Go in again and double check if they have stock. Ask someone who looks like they know what they're talking about.

      • Well in fairness, I only rang up and spoke to someone, who did say that he had also received a call from someone else about this drive only a couple minutes before my call.

That said, I do agree with you somewhat, as I've never felt the staff has gone above and beyond to help me with anything, except once when this kid actually went and asked his manager about price matching a Transformer Prime Tablet for me. Most times they say, "nah, sorry, can't do that", but this young guy did the right thing which led to a sale.

60km to the nearest store in Sydney with stock for me. Probably only a good deal if you live near one of the 3 stores in NSW with limited stock availability.

    Penrith
    Fairy Meadow Newcastle
    Coffs harbour

Posting OW clearance deals on OZB, without actually seeing the stock 1st hand, should be banned.

    • Yeah today some one posted an OW clearance for that Buffalo Linkstation NAS for $99 yet there was no stock to begin with any where in the country. I wish people would check the stock status before hand.

  • None at penrith

  • Officeworks seem to be dumping a lot of their Buffalo stock at the moment.
    http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/search/buffalo
    - This for $99
    - Linkstation Pro Duo NAS for $10
    - Linkstation Pro Quad NAS for $99
    - 4TB Linkstation Pro Duo $629

All out of stock near me.

    • No stock anywhere for that Linkstation Pro Quad NAS

  • Rang Coffs Hrbour and they have one sitting in repair for the last 4 weeks, so that's why it says it's got stock available. I would've picked one up otherwise. Coffs Harbour has NO Buffalo stock whatsoever. Reckon they've got too many brand already. So why ditch Buffalo is beyond me. I can think of worse brands, but don't want to stir the pot on OzB ;o)

    • I pick Buffalo anytime over WD my book, as WD gives me heap headache when reconnecting over USB3. :(

Currently Im running LS-WVL NAS & 2+4TB Drivestations.

I matched the price in JBHIFI for $50 yesterday, don't need to buy it in officework. Very good deal!!

    • Do you have a receipt? I want to get one from JB as well

    • +1

It depends on who you get. Every time I've tried this, the person has checked stock levels.

  • -1

Good Guys have always been good with price matching. They never really check stock levels. I just put my phone with the add under their nose and keep my finger on the clearance bit.

It's how I got my camera and TV a lot cheaper.

  • Have one of these, it died within 2 weeks of opening the box. My friend has had 2 kark it in quick succession. The 2yr warranty is actually pretty crap because they don't attempt to recover your data so you pay for postage to mail it to them and then they send you a replacement - you might as well just return it to officeworks and save the postage. Anyway just my two cents, wouldn't be too sad if you missed out :)

  • Anyone tried to get JB HiFi to price match?

Also anyone know what the internal drive is? Does it have a SATA connector or is it one of the drives with USB interface on the hdd board?
