      depends if they want to be able to upgrade, if they want a larger screen, so many other things. Would make quite a decent lil media machine hidden in a cabinet or behind the TV, maybe a PSU upgrade to keep the noise down. Be a decent start to a home server or backup machine - HDD upgrades are cheap. There are quite a few reasons to want a desktop.
      They have so many options, this seems a decent base option, ~$25 over the cheapest in the country but SERIOUSLY worth it for the service and after sales support difference.
      And at least you know your wty is worth having unlike some lappy companies who will make the unit disappear for potentially months if you have an issue (be careful what you buy lol)

      Honestly these guys really are worth dealing with, I have had less issues with them then just about anyone and i and my father in law still maintain a LOT of machines, despite him working and me being crippled

    Yeah, for $500, this is a not a good deal.

    I'm afraid I'll have to neg. Fairly basic and dated specs.

    With the prices of laptops dropping (with i3 and above), for $500 you can do better.

    People get desktop for powerful specs, otherwise, you'll be better off with a laptop

          yeah - but then you have to deal with MSY - I got fed up to the teeth with this and chose umart, NEVER had a problem with them, they actually WANT you to be a customer, they CARE about you getting the right thing, they CARE about your customer experience.
          While still being the next cheapest store to MSY, AND actually having stock, and being able to track it the whole time they have been online.

          For a system, I will take Umart service and wty over MSY any day of the week

          BTW — back when i was on Whirlpool before i got over it I had an 11,000 post count, pervasively luminescent aura and was nicknamed 'grandaddy of desktops forum'. I am an elecronic tech with decades exp in PCs. I have tried a lot of stores and Umart has that balance of damn cheap and still nice to deal withmore than anywhere else

      I would expect this machine would run Office, Outlook, Accounting software well, since it is design for BASIC office and home users.

      If you take monitor $105, keyboard and mouse off, it is only $319!!!

          Yea, $305 does not include installation? We do include installation and we have good service and warranty team here.

          We have good feedbacks for service on Whirlpool.

          And I am sure we have this in stock and you do not need to line up for the particular item you want.

      its basically an i3 - pentium is just something they slap on their base models. still faster than pretty much any core2 duo. they are awesome value processors for general use machines

        They are damn close to the cheapest around and actually have stock, answer the phone, talk to you, place orders politely and make it easy for you. A few % is worth it imo to have a retailer that actually wants you to walk away happy and doesnt treat you like a number like MSY. They havent got to be all up and down the east coast for nothing
        PLEASE come to newcastle rep - i am fed up of mail order - we deserve a decent store and I want you guys, not msy or some other douche to invade the economy PC market in the hunter valley. Sandgate, Hexham or something - industrial area, near the Uni
        And dont worry about this guy - reading his name backwards gives you a good idea of his problem, he is a serial……

        Probably because there isnt one decently cheap store in the place lol. Even if you made the trip once a month to the computer fairs you would likely wipe out every store in the region rofl. The cheapest thing in the regionb is the computer fairs and you beat them by a good 20 % generally.
        Also - it is funny to not that the only person in the thread that has dealt with you is the one that has voted for you - says reams - you arent perfect (miles from), but you are miles ahead of the others in your price bracket
